UPDATE: In regards to the disingenuous response below, plz read the TL/DR carefully. Did they refute the contradictory conditions for warranty? No. Cleaning: Jan 6. My call to Mr. Duct: May 31 (<5 mos, not 6).
The filter WAS changed frequently within the 1st month. Subsequently, only the flimsiest filters are changed monthly. My filters were not flimsy and were supposed to last 3 mos, but were changed after 2. In any case, why would massive chunks be caught after ~5 mos if their techs did their job? ---------------------- Attached is a picture of the state of our filter, which betrays the quality of cleaning performed by Mr. Duct for $445. Despite changing our filter regularly and per Mr. Duct's guidance, our HVAC unit started making a scary amount of noise. It sounded like fan blades hitting metal. Woke everyone up in the middle of the night and we had to power off the HVAC immediately.
The company that came to service found no fault with the unit. Saw the chunks of debris and said they would clean it for free within 12 months if they had performed the initial service.
Below is the text from my email to Mr. Duct. No response. The supervisor told me she would hang up, when her logical inconsistencies were pointed out.
"Just spoke to Christina, one of your supervisors, who has further underscored the horrendous service customers can expect from Mr. Duct.
TL/DR: Debris is expected up to 1 month after cleaning. Big chunks should not be present after the first 30 days. Mr. Duct’s warranty is only for 30 days. I did not call within 30 days, so there is no warranty.
I asked if she sees the contradiction in the above. She did not. So, either this supervisor’s logic is weak or Mr. Duct does not stand behind the quality of their work. Either way, it reflects very poorly.
I changed the filter as asked to by your technicians but that didn’t matter. The picture I sent earlier speaks volumes. Hence, I will now communicate my experience to others. Potential customers should know what they are getting by going with your company."
Regrettably, my experience with the aforementioned company was rather disappointing. Despite their purported expertise in the field, I found that their technicians were not equipped with the appropriate tools to execute a proper cleaning of my home's ventilation system. To my chagrin, they arrived with only one vacuum hose, bereft of the necessary fitting to cover a single vent, and expected to extract all of the debris from my entire house whilst traversing each vent individually, using an air hose with a rather flimsy 10-inch rubber piece.
Alas, my misgivings were confirmed when I observed that, despite spending a mere two minutes per vent, with a mere two feet of penetration into each duct, no debris was being removed. My own inspection hose camera, with a 15-foot extension, proved to be of little help, as it merely pushed the debris further into the duct, leaving the job incomplete and inefficient.
Upon raising my concerns with the company's leadership, I was met with a rather contentious response from the crew lead, who insisted that they were simply following orders. It soon became clear that the fault lay not with the hardworking crew, but with the owners themselves, who had failed to provide their technicians with the requisite equipment for a thorough cleaning. Their hoses were haphazardly sealed with duct tape, and no vacuum vent covers were provided to ensure proper suction.
As a discerning consumer, I must advise against employing this company for your ventilation needs. If you do choose to engage their services, I implore you to bring your own inspection camera hose, ladder, and an assistant to ensure that the job is performed to your satisfaction. In short, I would urge you to steer clear of this company altogether.
I have been Using Mr. Duct for over 3 years now- and my customer's are always happy with their services. We are happy to have a company we can relay on for when our customer need air duct cleaning. They respond fast, their prices are fair, and my clients are always happy , I really never recommend anyone else.
I think the quality of service from Mr. Duct depends on who comes to your house to perform the job. Two men who came to our house to clean the air ducts & vents and dryer vents did horrible jobs. They were not thorough with their work, did not clean all the vents, left SO MUCH mess behind, scratched my floor moving the piano and never moved it back to the original place, and didn't want to talk to us or explain what they were doing. There were so much dusts, leaves from outside, and residues everywhere after they had left. They also didn't screw back all the screws holding the vents so I am missing a couple of them and I found 2 just rolling on the floor when I was cleaning after them. I talked to the customer service who offered to send the workers again and I declined because I did not want to have to deal with the mess again. Then they offered 15% refund back which I never received. From my experience, I cannot recommend their service but it may be that I was very unlucky and got poorly trained people. My next door neighbor wanted to get their ducts cleaned and I couldn't recommend Mr. Duct to them. :( Next year, I will find a new service.
We recently re-homed a cat and called Mr Duct to clean out the vents. Corey and Amaris were on time very competent and totally focused on providing the best customer service. They answered all our questions and provided before and after pictures.I would totally recommend this company - ask for Corey and Amaris.
I recently moved into a new home, and very quickly noticed my dryer preforming poorly, followed by leaking water from the vent. I called Mr. Duct to get my Dryer vent professionally cleaned and had an appointment scheduled today.
Mr Duct told me their technician would arrive at my place between 2-4pm (since job time may very) and the technician did arrive within the window, right at 4pm.
Scott was the technician, and I was very pleased with his service. He was kind, professional, and explained the situation and ways to prevent it in the future (apparently the previous owners never cleaned the vents).
Scott wore boot covers while in my house, he also plugged the pipe holes, re-taped a connection, and did clean up after himself as much as applicable.
In all, my dryer seems to work much better, and with just one quick run of the vacuum any left over lint is off the floor, as if no one scooped lint out into my basement. If you need help and fast, I would recommend Mr. Duct. I believe they did proper service, at a competitive price.
I had Mr. Duct do a vent cleaning of our home today. After the cleaner had left and we went upstairs my wife and I spent the next 30 minutes cleaning the entire upstairs and vacuuming all bedrooms and stairs as per the mess that their company had left behind. I spent $295.00 on what I thought was going to be a professional job but was anything but that. We just had brand new carpet installed on the stairs and each bedroom along with everything painted. In the pictures you will see stains on the stairs carpet and the walls have stuff marks from the vacuum hoses. The dust particals were all over the carpets in the upstairs bedrooms as well. My son had to leave his room while the job was being done due to the room filling up with nothing but dust from the vacuum which had holes in the hoses.
If this was my company, I would be very embarrasses. I spoke with the dispatcher after the cleaner had left and he says "I can have him come back and clean up his mess if you like" I will NEVER use this company again!
First, Avery was excellent at answering my many questions promptly. I was nervous because I was hiring for my parents house, and my Dad, a retired Civil Engineer, is a tough sell, but he gave them 5 stars! He was raving about the technician, John, and was incredibly impressed with the thorough, professional work. I am so relieved and would recommend to all my friends and family. Also, their quote was competitive and they didn't have any hidden charges as promised.
We recently moved to our new home and decided to have HVAC service done to our unit. I did some shopping around to find a reliable company. Came across a few, but their prices were not guaranteed and only provided a verbal quote over the phone. Luckily, I found MrDuct, and called to see what they have to offer. I initially spoke to Chloe and Taylor, who were both very professional and able to respond to all of my questions about the service! They emailed me an official estimate for us to make our decision, and so we did! Our appointment was for this morning between 8-10am. Their team called me to confirm that the technicians are on their way. Very punctual! Sergio and Rafael arrived right on time! Very professional, respectable, they worked well and explained every step of the process! Cleaned all of the ducts, the A/C furnace and left no mess behind! Our home feels and smells cleaner! We paid the price that was initally estimated, no gimmicks and the price was worth it:) We will definitely use their services in the future if needed! Many Thanks, D & V
First and foremost customer service is at the forefront of what they do. They want the experience to be great, and it was. Easy to get quote over phone, scheduled within 2 days. Team was professional, did a thorough job, and ensured we were happy. Won't find a better price either. Black Diamond quoted us twice as much. Would recommend and will use again. I wish they did Aeroseal.
