While I appreciate the speed and friendliness of the service I received, I have lost all respect for this company after finding out how much I got taken advantage of on the cost of my AC repair. Shame on me for not doing some research in the moment, but I’ve now become wise to the cost of a capacitor, and the $221 I was charged for one is making me sick to my stomach after seeing online that these go for $8-$20.
Edit: Please note, this was JUST the capacitor. I was still charged separately for the the visit itself, which was $179 for a weekend call between 5-6pm, which I didn’t have a problem with. I understand the cost of labor, time and skill.
Floyd Coker is the best! Very professional and friendly. Diagnosed my problem quick and fixed it. Highly recommend Dyess Air and Floyd. You can't find a better tech!
Problem: HVAC quit. Jose showed up promptly and diagnosed the problem quickly, demonstrated the difference with the bad and a good part which he had on his service van.
He could have buttered it up and walk away, but he took the time to change the filter, clean the condenser and check the drain pipe. Aha, the drain pipe was 80% blocked causing the HVAC to cycle on/off. Cleared the blockage. Gave me some good maintenance tips as well.
Air conditioning went out during a very hot and humid July. Technician was at the house within 2 hours of my initial call. Air was back within 20 minutes! Costs were minimal. Our technician, Harry, was very professional, knew his trade and a really likeable man. We set up a yearly maintenance plan.
I appreciate the technician took the time to explain to me what was going on and the options I had. I feel confident that the job was done right. I have been a customer for over 10 years and they have always done a great job.
Mr. Battle was on time, professional, knowledgeable and very gentle & understanding with my hyper Husky pup. He found the problem fixed it & stayed here to make sure it was working properly before he left.
When we bought our home 2 years ago / The former owners were nice enough to give us their Air tune-up they had already paid for. So we had Dyess come out and do our service. The first experience was good. So we renewed the contract for an other year. The second and third time they were here. They were literally here maybe 15 minutes. I wondered how they could possible get one so fast. The 3rd time we had them out the service tech told us our system was shot. We needed a new air conditioner and 2 of my 3 heat strips were shot. It would never make it through the hot season. He had to put 8 gallons of refrigereant in it. ( he was outside for like 4 minutes) I knew our system was older so immediately went into financing this. The tech Tim.. told me how much and so on then left while I tried to get it all together. The next day he shows up at my door.. Because we never updated our phone number. Telling me how he heard we had the financing and should go with a 3 ton system instead of 2 1/;2 as it would be more efficient. That sent warning bells out to me .. So I called a friend of a friend in. For a second opinion .And I am glad I did. The second tech came out and told me yeah our system was old. It could have a leak but it was probably very small as he couldn't detect it. And that he thought our system would make this year if not another. None of our heat strips were corroded and were fine. But he did find they hadn't been doing any tune ups for a long while. And when we do replace the system getting a 3 ton over the 21/2 would be counter efficient. As the system would never shut down. ( I already knew this) It literally cost me a $60 part and $75 for the tune up.( plus the wasted $175) to Dyess ) And guess what??? I made it the whole summer. These guys are crooks and definitely liars. If they ever tell you need a new system.. Get a second opinion. And after doing research . I found it isn't so much the brand of air conditioner you have. As how well it is installed. If you have a someone who is not even cleaning and tuning up your system , when they are supposed to be. Would you trust them to install a new one??
This young man was very professional but socialible. He answered my questions without hesitation. I liked that the same person came out from before. He presented as being knowledgeable.
Jose was able to explain the problem so we would u sweat and and not worry until additional maintenance was done. He put our minds at ease and looking forward to the final resolution.
