Performed regular maintenance on water heater. Once I was able to get a technician here service went well. Zach B was competent, respectful and efficient. However, if you sign up for their maintenance program and make appointments for maintenance check-ups, expect to have appointments rescheduled so they can go on paid service calls. Today was the fourth appointment set up for water heater flush because they continued to ask me to reschedule. At 4:45 they tried calling to reschedule once again. I refused and told them to get somebody out here today. Asked for manager to call me back. After an hour and no call, I called back and again mentioned that I set aside time for maintenance and expected it to be done. I asked again for manager to call, again no call. However, did get a call that technician would arrive by 7:30. Technician did arrive around 7:15 and performed maintenance. Once technicians are on-site customer service is fine. Overall, their scheduling and keeping appointments sucks. Don’t set high expectations with their office customer service; their business model needs revisiting. Will give them one more opportunity when I actually need service to see how they do.

Justin King came out and installed an Ice Machine for Cort Furniture Rental. He was polite and professional, he also completed the install in great time. Red Cap came out and gave us a quote and the balance due was exactly what they quoted us. I would highly recommend using Red Cap.

Avoid Red Cap Plumbing and A/C. It is a scam.
My story is: My A/C, 12 years old was working perfectly until I received a coupon from this company, advertising a Tune-Up for $ 49.
To have “peace of mind” for the summer I made an appointment for it. The technician came and told me he had to do several things to which I agreed. The cost was outrageous at $2800 but I did not contest it and paid. One week later the A/C was not cooling. I called them to request warranty service. The person who came said that additional parts for $1200 were required. I said no and requested to talk to a supervisor. The supervisor came and said that there was no warranty for anything and because my unit was old I should rather buy a new one from them. They advised the cost would be north of $10 -15,000. I said they were crazy and I demanded for them to repair the unit or return the $2800 and the supervisor promised to talk to the manager and call me back. No call did ever come.

I then called an independent repair company (that does not sell new units) and they repaired my unit. They told me most of what Red Cap had charged me was unnecessary and the only problem was that the unit did not have any Freon Gas. Red Cap had either 1) Not put any gas (they charged for it), or 2) Put it wrong, or 3) The unit was leaking which is a very easy repair.

My A/C has been working fine for the past three weeks and I was scammed by Red Cap. Avoid them at all costs. Their MO is to “repair” the unit, charge an outrageous amount for it, offer no warranty and then offer to put the amount you paid towards the sale of an overpriced and unnecessary new equipment.

Avoid them at all costs!

In August 2021 I bought a Lennox 5.0 ton 14 seer hp AC unit. I bought it from Red Cap because of the 3 bids I had they came in cheaper ($10K). The installation was fine and I thought everything was perfect. Six months later they come out for a courtesy visit to make sure everything is working good. Then they tell me I need all new duct work, about $12K. I had others look at it and they told me it was unnecessary, ducts were fine. Now 1.5 yrs later the unit isn't working, I call them out as it is under warranty. They told me the drainage system can't hold the unit. I have to dig up the ground. second time, they tell me they can drain it for $550 or for $660 they can come out twice a year. I called another company who drained the pipes for $103. They get you in cheap, but seems like the MO is to keep up selling you things you don't need. Well you don't need them, they are not honest.

After having 4 plumbers come to look and perform work on the same issue I was obviously frustrated. Kyle at Red Cap was the only rep who took the time required to truly assess the situation and explain it to me in simple terms. Not only that, his years of experience enabled him to offer a solution that no other plumber presented. (All of the others only provided temporary solutions) He is getting the work done more efficiently with less invasion and property damage than any other plumber. He saved a 150 year old grandfather oak tree with his non invasive solution. Which also saved me thousands from not having to remove a beautiful tree! Hands down the best experience I’ve had with any plumber. Ask for Kyle at Red Cap.

Our Tech Bobby Williams, was very professional, polite and respectful. He took pictures of the issues, which We thought was awesome, seeing we are unable to get in the attic ourselves. He finished the job in a mannerly time. Very happy with this appointment. We already made an appointment to look at our water heater. We are definitely using RedCap again.

yesterday, i had my ew split mini installed. the installers arrived at 10:00. at 12:30.the electician (John) arrived with two helpers...so far, so good....all went downhill from there.what should have been a 7 hour job at the most....was not completed until a bit after 9:00pm.
John was told his two helpers would be back to help him comlete the project....the company insted sent his helpers off to another job....and never returned....John had to finish most of the work by himself (by the way...I would reccomend John to anyone)...it was not his fault that he had to exhaust himsellf and have me inconvienced for almost the entire day...management needs to do a better job in how they treat their young hard working techs. John gets 5 stars.....your managenemt 0!

I am amending the review that I gave several days ago. I appreciate that the manager personally came to my home to apologize and offered me some compensation. He assured me that this type of inconvenience would never happen again.

Red Cap came out to my house because my AC stopped working. They were very professional, and they were right on time, as usual. They quickly determined that I had clogged pipes, which caused the outage. They vacuumed it out, and I'm back in business! The best part, because of my extended warranty, there was no charge! I HIGHLY recommend Red Cap Plumbing and Air! I've been with them for years, for a reason!

I highly recommend Bobby Williams with Red Cap. His service was exceptional and he quickly resolved the issues with my AC. He efficiently diagnosed the problem, explained the necessary repairs, and completed the job in a timely manner. Not only did he fix my AC, but he also provided valuable tips for maintenance to ensure optimal performance.

UPDATE. We were supposed to have hydro scrub and Picote applied. I had such high hopes based on their sales guy. First they showed without calling, we were told they would call while on route to us. We never received the contract/work order and the techs that showed up had not reviewed it so they didn’t do the kitchen hydro that was part of the project scope. They had already started the Picote so could no longer do the kitchen because the Picote can not get wet for several hours. They did promise to come back next week, but I am not confident of that. But the biggest issue was they flooded my main bathroom and hall with disgusting overflow, not just once but twice. They told us this was due to a “low flange”. Though we never had any issues with it. To their credit they added a flange cover. They did a cursory clean up but we just had LVT installed in that flooded bathroom. It’s unknown what will come of that water getting under there (it was a lot of overflow!). The water in the bathroom closet was never cleaned up till we did it so sat for several hours. They told us they couldn’t clean the overflow that came up thru the tub (since the Picote cat get wet) but should have done so immediately after the overflows or at least with some cleaner and a rag! We haven’t received the promised video of the before and after. Outside area not returned to prior state (where they went into the clean out). Overall super disappointed. Credit them for doing the hydro a couple of times to get pipe cleaned. . Original post: Jonathan was and professional for our estimate. Looking forward to seeing how the work goes to Picote our sewer lines !
