After using another company several times and still having AC problems, I decided to try "South Cooling", they send technician the following day and he was knowledgeable and professional. Thank you " South Cooling" my AC is working good.
We were assigned this HVAC company by American Home Shield. Our a/c was not working properly; the inside temp was climbing up to 81 degrees in May. AHS assigned South Cooling. The tech advised that the compressor started wasn't working properly, and that he fixed it. The a/c began cooling the house properly, until a month later when the same exact thing began happening again -- the inside temp was climbing to as high as 79 degrees, and remained that way until late in the evening. AHS sent South Cooling a recall request and the same tech that was here the first time came for the recall service. He told us there was nothing wrong with our a/c unit; he said that the problem was our attic insulation, which needed to be replaced. Well, even I know that if your insulation isn't working well anymore, but your a/c unit IS working properly, what will happen is that the house will get hotter during the afternoon but it will cool down once the sun goes down and even when it does get hotter it's only by a few degrees. The worst part of your problem is your a/c unit is working all of the time and your electric bill goes up. Because we didn't believe the South Cooling tech, we called our regular a/c maintenance company and they came out to look at the unit the day after the South Cooling tech was at our house. Sure enough, they found that the cover enclosing the evaporator coil in the air handler wasn't closed properly -- a screw had come loose from vibration and fallen out. That tech fixed the cover and guess what? The inside house temp has remained at the set temp until late afternoon when it goes up by no more than 1 or 2 degrees, and it cools to the temp setting by 8:30pm. The South Cooling tech was correct that we need new insulation, but he was totally wrong about there being no problem with the a/c unit, a fact he should have known because of the substantial rise in the inside temp.
I had the pleasure of meeting Gus from South cooling under the worst conditions: A dead AC unit on a Friday afternoon! Gus was extremely responsive and caring, showing up on the weekend and diagnosing the issue, and working as fast as possible to resolve it, despite push-back from my warranty company. While AC companies are a dime-a-dozen, South cooling was different because of their expertise. He had the right equipment (all high tech, digital scales, compared to those old analog ones) and the right knowledge.
Read all the 1 Star Reviews, they came out from American Home Shield and what I thought was a professional company after 3 weeks of no AC they refused to complete the job and closed the work order. Very unprofessional, the only reason I gave one star at all was because of the nice office staff that tried to help me.
The worst company I have ever worked with! Missed appointments, do not answer the phone, and after one week waiting to fix the AC they said it was a transformer and when they came back (after missing the previous day appointment) to fix the AC they could not because they said it was something else! They do not know what they are talking about and they should not be in business! If I could I would give a "zero" star! Very upsetting, disappointing and the worst of all! Don't ever hire them!
South Cooling was very professional from the start to finish. They called the Condo Association and submitted their permit prior to scheduling the work. Although it took them three trips before the AC leak was repaired, I was kept informed throughout the process.
The tech was very kanowledgeable and solved our problem immediately. He also exercised Covid-19 safety measures by wearing and mask and keeping the recommended social distancing. Great company with great responsive employees.
This has to be the worst company when it comes to customer service. I have never dealt with a business this bad, they are worse than even Comcast and AT&T, so that's saying something. Had a service call and the woman on the phone gave me an appointment time slot. Time slot comes and goes. I call and was told the driver had vehicle issues so he would be there first thing the next morning. Next morning 11:30 am goes by no technician. I call her back and she tells me another lie. She is a pathological liar. It's really pathetic for her to be the main contact when you reach this company. I finally get a technician the fourth day. Technician comes out and looks at everything. Says everything checks out but can't explain why the house isn't staying cool. I call back and request a lead technician. I was told first that she left a voicemail for me the day I submitted the request. Looking at my phone, I did not get one phone call that day. Another lie. So I waited four days before following up because I hadn't heard from her. She says next appointment is the following week. I schedule it. Today was that appointment between 1 and 5. At 4:30 I call the liar back. Is he coming. Oh he's running late. He will call you 30 minutes before he comes. So I ask, so he's still coming tonight? I get repeatedly yes yes he will be there. Think he showed? Of course not. This is the worst company on the face of the planet. Totally incompetent.

No customer services at all!!
They are unable to manage their own services. I've been waiting for more than a month to have my 2 units fixed.

Fast and friendly service. Our tech, Jeffrey, did a great job in getting our AC working the way it should. Will definitely use them again.
