Second owner of a home built in 2008. Condensation pan cracked in 2022 and did at least $12k worth of water damage in the house because they didn’t put a float switch or pan underneath the system. It was on plywood in a closet in the garage on the subfloor of the house (pier foundation) contiguous with a bedroom. Didn’t know anything about A/C units but couldn’t believe such a design could be SOP. Sure enough it’s against code now to not have a float switch and pan to kill the thermostat in the event of a leak. Thanks to their oversight or laziness many gallons of water went into my house while I was on vacation. They inspected the unit January of 2021. The previous owners were on their maintenance plan twice a year and the last one was January 2021. We had it inspected by another company twice a year since then as well. You would have had to pull the coil to see the crack. Again, all could have been avoided with a little common sense and effort.

Update:
Photo updated with proper and thoughtful installation. Company who made the repairs said never in a million years would they have installed it the way A+ did, regardless of codes in 2008. Functionally the AC closet may as well be in your bedroom hallway.

Update 11/30/2022: Final cost of this claim was $119,000.

I've been using A+ for several years now and am a part of their preferred plus biannual service program. On my last inspection, it was noted that I had a substantial amount of "guck" on my coils and a coil removal and cleaning was recommended. I made my appointment and the team was at my home a few minutes earlier than the specified start time. The work was performed, completed and the crew that was in my home was not only proficient at what they did, but some of the friendliest guys around. Darrell, who was my initial inspector and wrote up the work estimate, kept me informed and up to date with what was going on throughout the process and his two associates, Dylan and Sebastian, were just as friendly and thoughtful with their drop clothes, their shoe covers and the work they were doing. This company is by far, notches above the competition and I can't say enough good about them. If you need AC work done, A Plus Air Conditioning and Refrigeration is the one to call.

At our request, Bob McCollum evaluated whether or not our AC ductwork needed to be cleaned. He made a thorough examination and determined that it did not. He did not charge for the visit, was very cordial and polite. We were relieved at dodging in expensive
procedure and appreciated Mr. McCollum's honesty in not trying to sell us something we did not need.

Bad experience. Out here multiple times to fix a water leak coming through into vent. Just kept charging me for fixes that never worked. They had no idea what the problem was. I asked for a refund of a portion of their charges for things they did that were unnecessary totaling $233.00 of the $422.95 bill and Bob refused. Workers tried-- office staff tried to help. Bob is all mouth and no ears. The problem was fixed by a plumber that Bob bad-mouthed to me twice as not knowing what he was doing. As it turns out, Bob did not know what he was talking about but the plumber did. The plumber fixed the problem after my unit flooded. Aplus talks a better game than they play. Do not use them if my best advice. I have a maintenance contract which I will not renew. Bob thinks I got value from the services provided--I do not. We agreed to disagree after a tense conversation.

I started using them when our AC stopped working late one night. Our baby was about 5 months old and It was the middle of Summer. I didn't want to wait, so called around and A+ was the most responsive and professional at midnight.
The tech was SO NICE and had the AC fixed and signed us up for their maintenance club which we desperately needed.
During our first routine maintenance appointment they commented on needing our ducts cleaned and the age of the AC (over 30 years old).
I agreed it was time to replace before the unit died and scheduled them for replacement of the AC.
Every single tech that has come to our home has been so nice and respectful. Everyone listened to my concerns and wore foot coverings inside the house.
They just installed the AC unit and worked around our babies nap schedule. On time, professional, kind, experienced, thorough. All words I would use to describe A+. I feel lucky to have found this company and look forward to them servicing our new unit for many years.

We have been A+ customers for 8 years. A+ replaced our AC when the old one gave up a few years ago. We have them come out 2x a year for regular maintenance. We have always had good service and the techs have been great. With our Fall maintenance check a problem was detected and repaired. I received such extraordinary customer service that I had to write a review for these good people. Savion, Dan, Blake and Mason, thank you for your friendly and professional service. When we had a follow up concern, I spoke with the Project Mgr, Greg, who really listened and then was quick, honest and fair in resolving the matter. Thanks again Greg! We continue to be well satisfied customers and are glad to work with a company that has earned our trust by doing a great job and providing us with excellent customer service.

I have never seen such thorough and complete HVAC maintenance. The two service techs communicated well with each other. One was caring for the condenser and the other working on the unit. Total teamwork. Showed me what needed to be cleaned and informed me of the price. Shared with me the desired outcome and potential outcome if not done. No pressure to decide immediately. Friendly and knowledgeable. I am a customer for as long as I am a homeowner!

I’m a tenant at a housing complex that used this company. My technicians were Nathan and Savion. They were both excellent. They were friendly, and knowledgeable. They explained everything they were doing and confirmed that if it was alright before making any changes. 10/10 would definitely recommend these two for any other hvac needs. This company also did same day appointment.

I contacted A+ AC to inquire about a new AC system for my home. The person answering the phone was very attentive and stated that the Service Manager, Jason, could stop by my house on his way home that same day. He
arrived as stated and looked at my current system. He retrieved the necessary information and listened to our needs. He made some suggestions but said that he would discuss with the sales manager, Bob and he would get back to me with several options to pick from. The next day I received the lists. My wife and I made a choice and relayed it back to Bob.
Unfortunately, the original AC we picked was not available but the company upgraded, at no extra cost the the next upscale unit! The unit was delivered with a couple of days.
Bart and Chris arrived on the scheduled date on time and began the install process. They were very courteous and got right to work. As the process moved forward Bart entered the house taking care to remove his shoes and placing drop cloths down were he was working to install the new thermostat. After initial install he assisted in getting my iPhone connected to the unit so I could control it via the phone.
I commend both Bart and Chris for their great work ethic and working knowledge. It was a pleasure seeing them work harmoniously to execute their mission.
A+ AC in my opinion are exceptional in their attentiveness to their customers. Thank you

***EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE FROM BART!!*** A+ heating and air installed the system in our new home. This weekend, we had our first maintenance visit and I couldn’t happier with the service Bart provided. He was available on a Saturday (!!) of the same week I called (amazing considering May-June is busy season for AC repair/maintenance). He called ahead, arrived on time, and was extremely efficient. He was so kind to answer all of my questions and showed me how to adjust the airflow in my home to optimize it for our needs. He was an angel to my 1-year-old little girl who thoroughly wanted to “help” him the entire time. He worked with me to make sure her room was being cooled to the right temperature and confirmed the ventilation was appropriate. I felt so comfortable with Bart and will be requesting him again!! He was able to introduce me to their newest available equipment without making me feel pressured and was able to anticipate my questions & make recommendations for my air system in the future. It felt like more than a routine maintenance visit. It felt like he truly cared about making sure our home is as comfortable as possible. Thanks A+ & thank you Bart!!
