    Eight days ago the thermostat quit working. The heating system in our condo is 40+ years old and kind of unusual in that it uses the hot water heater as a boiler. Six other businesses declined coming over after I described the system. When I tried John Owens Services, they said they were willing to check my heating system out and repair it if possible. They asked me to send pictures of our heating system. After they looked at the pictures they said one of their technicians was familiar with this kind of system and we set up an appointment. The technician replaced the old thermostat quite quickly and once again we had heat!

    My toilet had been clogged over the weekend. Will came out in a holiday and fix the problem. He didn’t double the cost due to the holiday as some company’s wanted. He was efficient and pleasant to work with. He also looked at a problem with bathroom sink and explained what I needed for him to return and fix the issue. Will definitely use their services again,

    Chris installed a new AC unit earlier this summer and then came back again to fix our non-working furnaces. He was friendly, professional, very capable, thorough and dedicated. He stayed late until the job was done and was very informative when he was explaining how he resolved the issue we were having. I will 100% request his service next time we call John Owens!

    Chris arrived within the time slot I was given. He did a thorough exam within our heating system, infrared pictures were taken. Changed our heater filters , made recommendations on how we could improve our heating system. He sat down and reviewed his recommendation with me. Explained , and then emailed information to me. Very polite, I liked his demeanor.

    Inexperienced personnel scheduled me for an electric tankless hot water repair and then cancels my appointment while I'm waiting for the repair guy to come. In addition, I am told that they don't work on electric tankless hot water heaters anyway. When I first requested service I was very clear about what type of water heater I had. They need someone in services to review their job schedule and service requests.

    I cannot express enough how grateful I am for the timely, honest, and professional service that was provided to me by John Owens Services and their HVAC technician Chris.

    Two days before Thanksgiving our 22 year old furnace decided to stop working and I called a couple of companies to try and get it diagnosed and repaired before the holiday. One company (not John Owens) was able to come out that day and diagnose the problem, however they provided me with a quote for $1600 to repair and informed me that it would be at least a week before they could address the issue. Since I had already scheduled an appointment for the Saturday after Thanksgiving I elected to do some research on my own and have John Owens Service to come in to provide a second opinion. I am so thankful I did.

    Chris arrived on time and was extremely professional. I informed him that I had done some research and even purchased a replacement motherboard (the point of failure) for our furnace but wanted to see what he thought about the situation. He confirmed the board was the point of failure and that I had purchased the correct replacement unit. After performing a thorough inspection of our furnace, Chris installed the board I purchased and then took the extra step of educating me on how to keep this old furnace running safely. Heat exchangers can fail as units age and pump CO into the house if not properly monitored. Chris recommended that I purchase CO monitors for the house to keep tabs on the condition of the furnace while keeping me and my family safe. No one else took the time to discuss these issues with me and I consider that potentially life saving advice. Here's what I learned in this one service call:

    1. John Owens is committed to putting the customer first and not simply upselling you to things you don't need or padding their estimates.

    2. Their technicians are not commission based and therefore do what's necessary to provide you with great service.

    3. They are personable, thorough in their work, and willing to take the time to educate their customers on how to get the most mileage out of existing products.

    4. They are my new "go-to-guys" for all HVAC and plumbing services.

    Thanks to Chris and thanks to John Owens himself for understanding how to build a top notch and customer-centric business. I know where I'm going when it's time to buy a new furnace!
