Atlas recently replaced my old furnace and ductwork in my home. The old furnace was 34 years old and had a cracked heat exchanger, among other issues, totally unsalvageable and needed to be replaced. The ducts were in poor shape as well with loose and dirty insulation drooping down in the crawl space beneath my home.
I brought a few companies out to give estimates, including the home warranty company’s vendor, which would have been mostly covered. Atlas had the best online reviews, and they did a very thorough job, starting with the estimate. Zack Turner built a thermal model of my home, with the layout, dimensions, and materials, in his computer so he could make the best recommendation possible for the system that I would need. Zack was very knowledgeable, friendly, answered all of my questions and gave me an estimate on the spot.
I decided to go with Atlas because the consultation went so well and they had the best reviews. Even though the home warranty company would have covered most of my costs if I used another vendor, that company had terrible reviews, horror stories on Yelp, and lied to me about the cost of permits going up, which I confirmed was not true with Oakland permit dept. Because of that, I chose Atlas for their superior reputation, and they worked within my budget, and promised no hassles.
Once I agreed to move forward, Atlas sent Zack and Kevin out for a pre-site review. I liked Kevin too, because you could tell he was really experienced, knew what he was doing, and he could explain everything in very direct and simple terms. Kevin even offered to hang my new furnace up and out of the way, unlike my old unit which was in the center of the crawl space, and made it a tangled mess of wires, ducting, and gas lines. Kevin’s recommendation made me really happy because it would help me clear and reorganize the crawl space in the long run and put the system in a dry, secure, space, and out of my way.
The installation team was a couple of young guys who did a really great job. They got to work removing the old ducts and furnace, and the bolted in the new system, rerouted my gas lines, insulated all the ducts, and I couldn’t be happier with the work they did. They even pointed out quite a few concerns with my electrical work and dryer vents that could cause a hazard for me, so I appreciated all of the things they pointed out, which I would not have noticed on my own.
The whole team did an outstanding job. I am really pleased with Atlas, and they lived up to their high reputation.

Atlas installed our new hearing system and duct work 10 years ago when we bought our house. No problems until last week when our blower stopped working. Atlas came out the next day when they said they would and replaced the faulty part for a reasonable price within a half hour. Very satisfied!

From the estimator to the installers, everyone we dealt with was kind, professional and very knowledgeable. The transaction and installation went smoothly and all inspections passed without issue. The cost was quite comparable to the other quotes we received. The heater works far better than the last one as it actually fits the size of the house. They fixed a bad venting design as well. Last company talked us into a high efficiency heater which was not the best choice. Highly recommended and pleased

Our furnace stopped working during an especially cold week in February. I called “Harry Clark” but was told I couldn’t get an appointment for at least a week. On the referral of a friend I was told to contact the family run Atlas Heating in Oakland. I got an appointment within 24 hours. Before looking at my furnace, the serviceman explained what he planned to do and how I would be charged. A needed part was ordered and I received another immediate appointment to replace the temporary fix. I am so appreciative that the warmth and comfort of my family was a priority. I will enthusiastically recommend Atlas going forward.

Atlas installed a new furnace and AC in my house about 2 years ago. My AC went out recently, and I emailed them to come see what the issue was, and the immediately responded, were able to come by within a day during the hottest week of the year, and fixed the blown fuse fast. I will ALWAYS recommend this company for any HVAC needs. They were amazing for the initial installation, and just as amazing for a quick and easy fix that I needed.

We thought our 19 year old furnace needed replacing, but the technician figured out the thermostat wasn’t letting the furnace move over to the second stage. Could have easily sold us on a whole new system. So happy there was no pressure and was provided reassurance that the furnace should have some years left (with proper maintenance, of course )

Outstanding company! I Schedulers are extraordinary sincere, helpful and dependable. I had very difficult tenants requesting AC repair and the schedulers tried to accommodate tenants demands, though it was inconvenient for them. The technician James was knowledgeable and capable, and I felt that the charges for the repairs were reasonable. It was so rare to get that kind of service these days. Great service! Will recommend.
