1st time customer. Got the number from their flyer. Made an appointment for 1-4pm. Got a text that the guy was on the way at 1:38. After 2 more calls that he was running late I asked to let me know if he couldn't get there by 630. Had to call back myself at 645 to cancel when I didn't hear from them. I understand they get busy, but as a 1st time customer who had to organize his afternoon around this appointment only to have them not be able to make it really blows. Why text me he's on the way if he wasn't done at his previous call? A little better communication and they'd probably have me as a regular customer. As it is spending another weekend with no heater, have to find some else on Monday.

My experience was much different than all the other 5 star reviews. I responded to their ad which offered a 19 point checkup with a guarantee. They came in the 3rd week of January 2023 and seemed thorough. Once completed, they told me the system is running perfect. I wrote a check and they were on their way. Four weeks later on Feb 27th 2023 our heater would not come on at all. So I called American Air Conditioning & Heating and was told there would be a $159 charge to diagnose my system and they would tell me how much to fix it once the diagnosis was complete. When I told this person that I took part in the special tune up with guarantee, she told me it would still require payment up front because I "was not a member of the club". There was no mention of a club on their flyer and the guys that came a month earlier did not mention this. I asked to speak to the manager who never called back. I am uploading the flyer with this review since it's clear that in my case this company appears to be running a SCAM. You be the judge, check out the flyer. Needless to say, this was not a good experience.

In the dead of winter, my heating/AC unit suddenly went out. I called American and they immediately scheduled me for a time that fit my schedule. They even accommodated me when I had to reschedule. On the day of the repair, Erik, the technician arrived on time. He was very friendly, professional and was able to answer all my questions. It wasn’t too long before he found the issue and was able to get the system working again.
The system I currently have in my house is pretty old and soon I will need to replace the whole system. When that time comes, I have no doubt that I will be contacting American to install that new system for my home.

Received a letter in the mail with an offer for heating tune-up for a reasonable price. I called and made an appointment. The service tech, Jonathan, was punctual, knowledgeable, and explained everything as he inspected and cleaned the furnace. He gave me valuable tips on how to increase the longevity and efficiency of the unit. He was also a very nice young man that any company would be proud to have represent them. I was so impressed with the 21 point inspection and tune-up that I also signed up for the annual service plan that includes annual service of the A/C also and for a very reasonable price. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I don't usually write reviews unless I receive exceptional service as in this case with American A/C and Heating of Northridge, CA.

What hit or miss experience that's still going. When this company first came out, they were great. So professional and courteous we were willing to pay well over market value for their work because they earned our trust. The work was then done with in a few days and everything worked well.

Then it came time to get permits on the work, which included new AC and heating units. An inspector came and we failed. So I called the company. And called. And called. And called. Four calls in four weeks before getting one call back.

I got the call back, the person who arrived to check on everything couldn't be nicer. Just pleasant and lovely. We scheduled an appointment for a subcontractor to come and fix it.

The subcontractor didn't arrive. I called about it. And called. And on the third call someone apologized and said they'd schedule a new appointment. We made a new appointment, everything seemed fine, and then we waited. And waited. The person didn't show up again. I called again. They said they would find out what happened. 6 hours later I got a call back and an appointment for tomorrow. Our AC was installed in JULY, it's almost February

I'm confident this will all be solved eventually. But when you pay a company tens of thousands of dollars to do a job, you expect it done right and if it's not, for it to be fixed promptly. That has not been the case at all.

Update: American Air Conditioning and Heating stands by their service and their products. After three service calls in as many days, they were able to diagnosis and correct the issues with our system: Turns out it was a multifaceted issue with our compressor starter and a refrigerant leak, and the blower's mother board, all of which were corrected/replaced under warranty (pretty good for a 6-year-old system! It pays to be part of their Service Club). Specifically, Erik Garcia and Juan Ramos are total pros, and they put their heart and soul into getting our system working like new (Erik was here from 7:15 until 9:15PM after starting his work day at 8AM, and Juan arrived at 4:50 the next day and worked until well after 7 PM; and when Juan confirmed it was the mother board, Erik actually drove one over to Juan so we wouldn't need to wait another day!). We also appreciated Erica's prompt scheduling of the technicians and letting us know if they were being delayed, and her providing us with a portable AC unit which kept us from sweltering to death in our house until the problems were fixed. So today, it's supposed to be 97 degrees and our house is 68 degrees inside. We are happy! Thanks, Erik, Juan, Erica, and especially Jim for running a tight ship.

Johnny was professional, courteous, and very knowledgeable about his trade as well as my unit. He did a great job with the tune up and was able to give me a quote on the spot for some addition needed work.

I would not hesitate to use this company again in the future.

Water heater alarm went off at noon today - loud piercing sound which bothered not only us at home but neighbors as well. Called up their office & was instructed to turn it off. Done. Service rep scheduled later today at 4. Jonathan came on time, looked at the unit & discussed few ideas why alarm went off. Not only explaining it well but even sealed off the case tight & recommended that if it goes off again, they will replace the alarm free of charge . He was very thorough & efficient;I couldn’t have asked for a better service rep. We were upset over the incident but his professionalism made it less stressful. He’s a great asset to this company. Thank you very kindly!

I love American Air Cond and Heating, they always take the time to explain the status of my systems and answer all my questions. I also love the fact that they area really clean and put a matt down before they enter and wear booties. Always on time!!!! Thanks to Noel Moreno-Lira, he did an exceptionally thorough inspection and maintenance today, and really explained everything so well. I know I am in good hands!
