Nathan and Mike came out and did a great job on my AC system. It was leaking from the over flow and they had the main line cleared out quickly. They also checked the freon level and told me none was needed. I really appreciated their honesty.
Brittany at the office was extremely pleasant to deal with and the two technicians were professional. The response time on getting a repairman out was excellent; however the follow up on when the repair was estimated to be complete was not as expected. This took six weeks and I understand the process with a home warranty company, however, this is not my first experience and have never had it to take this long even with having to order a part. I had to start the process of getting information concerning what is going on. I would recommend them but just be prepared to be the one that initiates the phone calls.
I didn't contract this company but my homeowners warranty did. A technician came out and didn't take long when he claimed to have found the problem: clogged filter and dirty coils. He stated he needed to submit the paperwork to the office to get authorization which was unusual as all technicians that have come to my home will fix the issue at that moment. I didn't get a call until today (2 days later). I was Informed about the coils needing to be cleaned BUT interestingly enough, I suddenly needed refrigerant which I would have to pay because my warranty would only cover $10 a lb leaving me to almost $700 out of pocket. I was outraged this wasn't diagnosed when the technician wasn't at my house and all i was told was, " we apologize he may have forgotten to tell you." I requested they come to my home to clean the coils as the original plan was for but was told if I didn't buy the refrigerant they wouldn't service my air conditioner and would close my case. Please be careful. I recommend NOT using this company as they seem to be trying to scam homeowners out of money including trying to sell me a new system.
Update: after 2 other opinions, it was found that I was not at all low on refrigerant but actually overflowing in it. I didn't need it and no leak was found nor was there any way to determine this without cleaning out the coils. Stay far away from this company.
Our experience with this company in connection with American home sheild has been terrible in so many ways!! Their technician came out and left a mess of our wires, leaving all safety switches on, clipping some and told us we needed all new very expensive wiring(not covered). I had another company come out who said we didn't need any new wiring and they easily fixed the issue in 10 minutes. American home shield does not honor their promises and American Air conditioning will make your ac problems worse.
Gabriel came out to check out unit through AHS warranty service call. He was checking the pressure of refrigerant. He said the ref cap was broken and he put a screw through it to take it off. But it didn't work. He tried putting the refrigerant in another line that the lock did come off but he said he needed access to the other line. Stated that the suction line needed to be replaced now. He said it was a 3 hour job and he was having a bad day and was not going to do it. Said if they want to send someone else they could but he wasn't going to do it. He then said if I have a friend who can do it to call them. I PAID for the home warranty to have this checked. I called the office so many times and they don't answer. I called AHS and they told me that the technician hadn't submitted diagnostics. The technician Gabriel didn't even have his workbook. He said he left it somewhere else and was writing down diagnostics and addresses on a blank sheet of paper. Lack of communication and the unprofessionalism showed today speaks for itself. This company cannot be trusted to do the work. The tech literally said he wasn't going to do this, but with a lot of curse words.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are crooks. They are a volume hack shop that makes their money off adding "uncovered expenses" to insurance claims and have no interest in providing quality work that you can rely on for years to come. Stay away. They removed a part from my AC before the work was authorized then added $2,000 in "uncovered work". To top it off they lost the part they never should have taken in the first place, then offered to fix it for $900 but refused to provide a written estimate. If any repair company refuses to provide a written estimate, you know they are shysters AND CROOKS. STAY AWAY.
Horrible uncaring company! My home warranty set this company up for AC repair in this heatwave. Company disconnected phone on purpose so they wouldn’t be bothered. After numerous complaints with the warranty company, a Stephanie finally called and told me they couldn’t do a home visit until 7 days later. Wow! It’s no wonder this company has horrible reviews! Look elsewhere.
I do not recommend this company. They were the assigned company by AHS. They took my evaporator coil out of the house to “test” it. No one has heard of this. Left messages for almost a week to know what was going on. Then they said there were “modifications” needed, which weren’t covered by warranty. I was without a unit for 19 days when I decided to just pay out of pocket with another company I trust. Most of the modifications weren’t necessary so they lied to get more money out of it. They said the drip pan needed to be replaced, when all it needed was to be cleaned and looks brand new again. Also said the drain line needed to be replaced-they were never going to do this-it would require cutting out sheet rock and replacing. The tech on the phone was also rude and condescending. Told me I bought the cheapest coverage and should’ve paid for the more expensive if I wanted better coverage. I had just bought the house and paid above what it came with to have better coverage. Also said to me “so you would walk in to Best Buy and ask for a tv from 2009 and expect them to have it?”. Clearly, they are surviving on AHS accounts and taking advantage of people not knowing much about their units. And they will take a major A/C part out of the house to force you into getting frustrated and just saying ok to whatever they tell you. Shame on you. You’d be more successful if you were on the customers side and had better customer service as well as being honest. That’s why the company I went with after being tired of your lack of communication and understanding is so much more successful. I had a new unit in two days, sure, I paid more going outside of AHS, but it’s absolutely worth the peace of mind…and I know my money went to good, honest people.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO MY WORST ENEMY!!!! This company was hired by American Home Shield they came in to fix a leak in my AC they apparently have fixed it but they said the rotating valve has a problem. Charged me almost $900 Its been 4 MONTHS we’ve been without AC in this Texas heat and they don’t seem to comprehend the fact that ITS BOILING HOT INSIDE THE HOME and you actually cannot breath in here!!!! Every time I call they say this item is STILL on back order after FOUR MONTHS!!!! And even if you try to talk to the manager they don’t care at all!! They tell you this is not our business! The man that came to fix my AC at that time said it shouldn’t take more then ONE WEEK to get the piece they need and I asked again if he is sure about it he said yes it shouldn’t take more then a Week! I have pets at home we live in our home we have jobs we have food everything is going bad I can’t leave my pets at home while we go to work because of how hot it is! This company deserves to be closed down.
Andrew and Raul came out to my home on Mission Bend 78247 Today 05/11/23 . They were very professional and knew what they were doing and also explained everything.that they were doing with my A/C unit. Very knowledgeable about the job they are doing. Thanks again great job keep up the good work
