I want to compliment this company on their fast and professional response. I called them at 9pm on a Friday and they called me the next morning at 08:30 to let me know a technician was assigned. Larry, the technician, called at 9:00 that he was on the way. He thoroughly checked my air conditioning system and quickly diagnosed the problem of a bad fan motor. The part in stock in the van and he repaired the system within an hour. I highly recommend this company!

This is the worst company I have dealt with. The office is unprofessional and dishonest. I used this company through my warranty company American Home Shield. My heater stopped working in December. The tech diagnosed the problem within 5 min on Monday. He said there would be a $150 code upgrade fee in addition to the part would be covered by my warranty. Instead of calling into my warranty company to get approval. He said the office would call in the diagnoses and schedule the repair. The office was backed up with orders from the previous week and did not get back to me till Thursday. The office stated the code upgrade was $300 plus tax. I stated the tech had written a diagnosis and stated in writing the upgrade fee was $150. The office said it is $300 plus tax and could not give me an answer as to why it had doubled. I asked if $300 plus tax was the rate any company would charge for code upgrade. I was told that is what American Air charges. It was In the middle of winter I had to proceed with this company. I would tell anyone DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they will overcharge you.

This was the company that was sent out to see what was wrong with our air conditioning. It was dripping water and we had standing water with no known reason for the issue. They came out the very next day and fixed the problem which ended up being a clogged pipe. So glad it wasn’t something major! But the professionalism and fast response was greatly appreciated.

Long review, but bottom line, if you do have to use this company, I suggest watching them weigh the Freon. I'm not saying they stole from me, but...

I'm actually not upset about the repairs. Took a little longer than I expected, but it does seem to be fixed. American Home Shield contracts with this company so I had no choice but to use them.

Here's my issue, they called and said that AHS only covers $10 per pound of refrigerant so I would have to pay the difference out of pocket. I was aware of this clause so I asked what amount they were thinking the system would take. The guy said "12-14 pounds, but you only pay the actual amount" and I said ok. The technician called me and said the job was done and he needed me to pay the difference. I said cool, how much Freon did you end up using? He said "right at 8 pounds." I thought to myself, sweet, much less than expected. I call the office to pay and the woman tells me I'm being charged for 14 pounds. Hold up now, the technician literally just said it was only 8 pounds. He said it in front of my renter who heard the same thing. She then calls the technician and I assume told him to call me back and tell me it's actually 14 pounds, because that's what he did. I don't live there and the dude wouldn't leave the house until I paid so I went ahead and paid it. I'm a real chill dude for the most part, but this is super sketchy to say the least.

Like many others who have posted, I have an American Home Shield warranty plan; AHS assigned my service request to American Air Conditioning & Heating Co. ("AACHC") - my A/C unit was not working and it had reached 89F in my house. Almost two weeks later AACHC has lied to me and to AHS about various matters. The second tech who visited said the first tech should have gone further and checked more of the system to find the underlying issue. AACHC wants my approval to potentially charge me up to $460 for freon in case they lose it will cleaning the coils (even though the second tech said third tech who would come out to clean the coils should be able to capture most if not all of the freon before removing the coils). Not sure what's going on here but clearly they are lacking enough experienced technicians. And the front office lied to me several times including that they received authorization from AHS to come back a third time to clean the coils etc. However, AHS has no record of the report for such work being submitted (as AACHC manager told me she'd done last Thursday), AHS has no record of a confirmation number being given to AACHC for such additional work, and when AHS called AACHC today to request the report AACHC supposedly submitted online last week for the additional work AACHC was unable to provide a copy of said report to AHS. Don't use this company!!! Find a reputable company to work with so you can save yourself time, money, and potential serious issues.

If AHS sends them to your home ask for a second opinion. I honestly do not think the technicians are well versed. They have been to my home on several occasions for the AC not cooling. When they leave, it was one issue or another. They came out once and stated it was the condenser, a 35 UF capacitor issue and a hard start kit was needed. Also annotated that the compressor overload protector was open and they had to cool the compressor for it to start pumping and cooling. Unit still DID NOT cool but they annoted that it did on their paperwork and left. Came out two days later told me the unit was completely drained of refrigerant and it would cost me 80$/lb to refill. Technician said there was a leak but couldn't find the leak so he used a stop leak and added 4lb of refrigerant stating the company would charge me the difference later after they replaced, guess what......THE COMPRESSOR. Go figure. Quoted me out of pocket expenses of $1600 for Armaflex ($200), T-Stat Conduit ($200), Misc Copper ($200), and Refrigerant 13 @ $90 minus the $10 that AHS does cover. What this company did not know is that I worked with HVAC, and electrical technicians for 20+yrs during my military career and ALL of them said this was shady. And the rest of these reviews proves the same thing. I did however have a very pleasant experience with the receptionist. She was very helpful with explaining everything to me and worked with providing other options. Great Customer Service, shady field work.

I think people need to redirect their frustration to their warrenty company and not American air conditioning. These guys are top grade professionals. Eric, one of the techs is a previous HVAC company owner and is very Sharp. This guy knows HVAC. I learned more about HVAC in 1 hour than I have in 30 years. They are very responsive and even respond to you after hours. Great pricing and it's much lower than the competition. Again don't confuse warrenty company and American air. There is a big difference. You will only get the best with American air conditioning.ask for Eric

After botching the repair on our system, they were scheduled to return to fix the problem they left unresolved. When the service man appeared, he refused to put on a mask to enter our home and respect our health safety concerns. When pressed on this, he said "goodbye" and left us in the lurch with a hot house and temperatures in the forecast for 100 degrees plus for the next week. Both inept and incredibly unprofessional. Beware!!!

Twice I have had issues with my ac and they are contracted with my landlord. Two weeks ago they came out to see why my ac was not cooling and showed up five hours late. I missed work to be home only for them to be late. They come by today supposedly w the part they needed. Again, late. After taking everything apart and making a mess the man suddenly puts everything back and says “I don’t know what I’m doing” and just leaves. Left no invoice and left ten minutes after the actual office closes. They do have an answering service but they never answer. Over the span of 7 hours I called 115 times and only got one response and no assistance. Instead of the guy admitting he didn’t know what he was doing and calling for assistance my house is hotter now. They are always late. Never answer their phone. Unprofessional and clearly untrained. Mind you the office is only open til three and they have a two hour lunch but then techs are out allegedly til midnight.

I did an AHS service call and they sent out American air conditioning and heating co. Erik came to my house and was very professional and helpful in explaining everything I needed to know . I would recommend them and definitely have him come out again if needed.
