Ridiculous! Have been to my house 4 times and AC still does not work. They came twice today and it does not work. I have spent a small fortune fixing unit due to "code updates" that people on second visit did not even seem aware of. It is cooler outside at moment than in house but service tech keeps saying "Your system looks good and there is nothing wrong" American Home Shield warranty keeps sending these folks out and now I don't want anything to do with either of them ever again. Find a reputable vendor to fix your AC and save yourself a big headache. Also just learned today that when they replaced evaporator coil they used 3 year old parts. Stay away!
First, let me say that I do not do reviews, but our experience has been so bad, I felt a responsibility to write a review. If there was a negative star rating, I would use it. We live in South Texas - it was 105 yesterday. We have been without A/C upstairs where the bedrooms and showers are located - FOR OVER A MONTH! The technician came out and declared the compressor to be out. Instead of checking all possible causes of the problem, he instead made sarcastic remarks about how quickly it would be fixed. Calls with promises of calls to update - no calls. When I did speak to the manager, she was rude, talked over me and did not want to listen to our input about her technician. Finally, show up to repair the compressor. Worked for about a day and a half and noticed it was not cooling properly. Unit totally froze up. When finally get a "lead" technician out, he discovered that the installer had installed the compressor, essentially, upside down. He repairs that screw up - which led to a loss of freon we had just paid for. Before the tech left, I went upstairs to be sure it was cooling. Sure enough, it was not!! Why? Because the original tech who came out to diagnose the problem did not bother to look at the blower - it was completely blown as well. Now we have waited for weeks for the part. They point the finger at AHS and AHS points it back at them and both companies act as if we have contracted with them directly. Hello AHS, you sent us this company, we did not contract with them. Do not use AHS and do not use American Air Conditioning and Heating - unless you want your house to be 90 degrees inside only for the manager to tell you at least you others have waited longer for their parts. What? So should we be grateful, is that your point? Ridiculous.

Finally got them scheduled for Friday afternoon - tech doesn't show up, all the phones go to voice mail, and we are left to sit until Monday, still 100*F inside the house every day. Tech finally came today but showed up late. TERRIBLE COMPANY, relies on home warranty contracts that lock people in without a choice of contractors, so they have no incentive to provide good service!
Unfortunately, our AC went out and our warranty company, American Home Shield, sent America Air to our home. The contractor was nice and professional. He diagnosed the issue and left.
Two days later, we had not heard back about the status and called. They had just filed the claim and were waiting for a response from AHS. No sense of urgency and they would call us back.
No call back.
We called again. We were told a service manager would call us back. NO CALL BACK. We called again. We are now a week and a half without AC. I was told AHS was not approving $2400 in repairs and that we should talk to the warranty company. When I asked about what these repairs were, I was told a service manager would call us back. You guessed it...no call back.
Spoke to the warranty company and they listed off the repair submission which seemed bloated. But sense we received NO CALL BACK from a service manager, we had no frame of reference.
After reading the reviews here and on the BBB site (they have an F rating..btw). We decided to cut our losses and ask for a cash out from the warranty company and will choose our own AC company.
My honest review, I pay American Home Shield (AHS) and sent my original request to them on 7/2 going into a Holiday weekend. AHS assigned American Air Conditioning around 3 pm. I had extreme difficultly getting in touch with American Air Conditioning. Their phone just goes straight to the busy tone, they are also only open until 3:30 pm and not on weekends. I got ahold of a lady before closing and she stated if I wasn't a regular customer I would be assisted when they opened again on 7/5. I did not get assistance until 7/5 after having AHS call up there a few times, Ethan called at noon and said they would be out from 5pm to 10pm. A guy showed up around 5:30 I believe his name was Aaron (he smelled very strongly of liquor and left a mess in my house), he flipped my breakers and stated my house should cool in an hour, three hours later it had not changed. 7/6 This company "completed" my ticket request per AHS. I called American Air Conditioning first thing in the morning and finally got through, they stated they assigned a new technician to come out from 5pm to 9pm. My technician was Rooster, he arrived before the scheduled time, which is fine if you are close by. Rooster took his time, checked everything, cleaned out the AC unit, stated we could use some extra freeon, which we purchased for 45 bucks per gallon x2 on top of our payment for them to come out. I believe the issue is corrected now. Thank you, Rooster for being a good technician. However, I'm being generous with the three stars but also I've complained to AHS as they should have better vendors that are not "mom and pop shops".
I see a lot of negative post for this company so I was glad mine didn't turn out that way. AC started blowing hot air. Called AHS for repair and they assigned this company. Set up appointment and they arrived within their allotted window. Evaluated the system. Found bad capacitor. Replaced the part and system up and running again. Can't ask for more than that
HORRo customer service. Do not care!!! I only use them as my home warranty company sent them (but they multiple complaints with the BBB).
They first came on April 18, 22. They said had a leak on the coils so remove and took the part, when brought it back we’re not able to install it as it was broken from the base and they said they broke it when removed it or when fix it. And said it was going to take 2 weeks to get the new part, I asked if there was something they were able to do as they broke the piece and not having A/C due to this was not ok. They said is not our problem we are doing our part which is fixing it.
I addition of this and the most upsetting is when one of their technicians was going up the stairs he broke the edge of one of the steps with his work boots. At that point he apologized, took pictures, sent them to his manager (Guillermo ) and told me they were going to fix it. Later called the manager to get an update on my A/C and ask about fixing the step and he told me once no technician was going to the house they will send a contractor. Explained to them this was a safety hazard as there were nails coming out and a gap between the broken piece and the step.
Took 3 weeks to have my A/C working properly due to other things they did wrong ( put the coil piece wrong so made it leak- their bad job again). Since they finished with my AC I have been calling to see when they were going to fix my step and for almost two months their only response was “Guillermo will call you tomorrow”. On Monday June 13, after being on hold for 30 minutes Guillermo finally answered and said the owner Mr. Molina will call you back tomorrow. Tomorrow came (June 14) and no call. Finally on June 15 Mr. Molina called to tell me they were not going to fix it as it was already broken. I guarantee it was not and took them two months and one of my dogs injured for them to tell me it was not their responsibility. When try to explain Mr Molina (the owner that there is no way my step was broken) he said I’m not going to let you talk
Again please be careful using this company as instead of helping you they create more problems with their lack of knowledge and not caring about customers.
Went through American Home Shield, my air stopped cooling first technician replaced condenser left in a hurry said it should be cooling off now didn’t even come in house to check! The lowest it got was 77 and then shot right back up into the high 80’s. Called, sent out another technician checked everything out said the first guy broke stem on valve and all the Freon leaked out. Called and talked to a manager and of course made up excuses saying the technician had nothing to do with it and will NOT replace the Freon!! Sounds like a scam company double dipping from home warranty companies and costumers! DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!
If you want quality dependable service look elsewhere. Came to fix my ac and broke another unrelated to the original issue. Also damaged my house. After 4 separate visits and 9 days without ac. They refuse to fix the damage to my house caused by their technician. Owner is rude and has zero sense of customer service.. I would live without AC in the full throws of summer before using this company again. Absolute trash.
I did not and would not choose this company EVER. American home shield sends them cause they want poor work and poor quality. It has been 6 weeks , 4 technicians and now I have a broken ac all together, They don’t care don’t answer the phones and don’t work weekends. The girls in the office equally could care less.The owner Jeffery Molina won’t even get involved yet it is his company. IF you can choose , never use this company unless you want to end up worse off than when they come out. I am filing a lawsuit and claim for damages- there is a reason they have a 3 star review
