I had water leaking out of my A/C unit and coming out of the secondary drain lines. I called my home warranty company and they sent out a technician today. I told the technician that I had another company out here a month ago and that they cleaned everything out already. After looking at the system he realized that the lines were completely clogged and could not have been cleared by the previous technician. He showed me the obstructions and taught me how to prevent it in the future. Thanks to technician Erik Castillo for a job well done.
Eli from American Air Conditioning and Heating was an absolute professional. He arrived promptly when he said he would, was completely understanding, and identified and repaired my A/C quickly. I couldn’t be happier with my experience. I used my home warranty company-AHS- which has sometimes been troublesome in the past with other issues but it was not the case with American Air Conditioning. My A/C stopped working Thursday at 9pm and in less than 24hrs AACH had it repaired. A great and dependable company to count on whenever your A/C goes out in the middle of a heatwave and your wife is pregnant. A real blessing.
It's been 2.5 weeks and no one can tell us when our AC will be fixed. I have been told that we don't deserve good customer service because we are going through our home warranty for the repair. We directly paid $300 for them to move our furnace so they could access the AC coil. They cracked our door trim. They have had our coil for a week and will not provide a status update.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Orginal AC repair 14 July, by 31 July the AC stopped working. Thay came back 4 Aug, AC worked for 1 day. They came back 5 Aug told me I needed feron; paid for the freon, AC worked for 4 hours. They came back 6 Aug looks at the system and leaves, no communication, just leaves (now company closed). I call 7 Aug and told its needs a motor. They couldn't figure that out the first "4" times. So I'm waiting on staus of part so they can complete the "so called" repair. As of today, 11 Aug still no AC, I haven't been contacted or given any status on the part or the repair. When you call the representative is rude, unprofessional and unresponsive. If it wasn't for the fact that I paid them, I would be gone.
I have given this company so many opportunities to get it right even speaking to the owner. I have multiple properties so this isn't my first AC repair however it will "definitely" be the LAST time I ever contact American AC and Heating. I'm sure they will blame the thier failure to fix an AC (although they are an AC repair company) on my home warranty company, for that it what appears to happen in other poor reviews. However this "is not" AHS. If AHS did anything wrong it is doing business with American AC and Heating.
I’m 7 months pregnant. Quarantined at home with a 4 and 6yo. Our AC has been out for two weeks. TWO WEEKS. It’s June...in Texas summer. Poor service: they didn’t fix it first time and they NEVER followup. I mean...EVER. If you don’t hound them, they will not come back. Period. Unprofessional: they do not come when they say they will and will walk into your house uninvited just to ask a simple question. Not on time: we were told they’d followup next day three times and never did. Always end of day maybe...cuz who knows if they’ll show up. We would have to call days later to see if anyone was coming back. Terrible service. Would never recommend them to anyone. We have been living in an 82 degree house for two weeks thanks to terrible service.
Update: it’s now September...AC stopped working again. It was just “fixed” in June
This company was assigned to me by my home warranty company! 19 days without AC is inexcusable. That’s how long it took AHS to process to order-INEXCUSABLY!! However, I’m soo glad they sent me a good, reliable contractor! They took very good care of us and got my ac up and running and didn’t even mind me watching them work and answered my questions and their staff kept my informed of the status of my claim which is way more than I can say for my home warranty company!! Excellent job America AC! Thank you soo very much. I too have AHS as my warranty company and I too agree with the other comments about prompter response time! I called my order in August 29. I know that was almost Labor Day weekend so I’ll give AHS that but to be without AC for 19 days, yes, I said 19 days is inexcusable! There should’ve never been that much time to respond to a call-not in this climate! I just thank God that we did have some cool breaks but by no fault of their own, AACA’s hands were tied! They were very sympathetic to our issues and did keep me informed! So, I thank them for their service. AHS, that’s another issue and when I find out who the CEO is, he/she is getting an ear full!!
I know a lot of these reviews are one star and I cannot ascertain why they were given. First off, our AC issue was given to this company through American Home Shield (AHS). I had my reservations about the company due to the reviews but I figured I could always ask for another from AHS if things went South.
My service request was put in on Sunday and American came out Monday afternoon. They gave us a 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM window and our technician showed up around 4:00 PM.
I have a HVAC background and already "knew" what the issue was but I wanted to see if the guy fixing my home could figure out the problem. Within a few minutes the technician informed me that the capacitor for the fan motor and compressor went bad. (The metal top bubbles out.) He went out to the truck and got a spare (with the correct farrads) and swapped it out. We went to the panel in my house and viola! Cold air! After we confirmed that all was well on the mechanical side he hooked up the refrigerant tool to measure the pressure. It was SAT.
All in all, 30 minutes. Good technincan, profession service, professional quality, empathy for my family and kids in a warm house. I would recommend them in the future.
(Also, most companies can't do squat until AHS authorizes the repair. The slowness is the turnaround time and communication between AHS and the service company. A phone call can usually cut that time to a minimum.)
Absolutely terrible experience. Three people ended up coming out at different times and two weeks later we still dont have a working ac. They told us it was the condenser and then drained the freon, forcing us to pay another 1000 dollars to refill. Once they tested and turned on ac, it reverted back to doing exactly what it was doing before within 12 hours. Still waiting on this issue to be resolved. American homeshield just lost a customer for forcing me to use this garbage company. Zero accountability from any techs. One guy told us he needed to get a part from his office and never came back. Another guy asked me to go to lowes to get a part for him, and i did... and when I got back he had left. I just dont get it....
This company was assigned by our home warranty company, AHS in May to address my central air not properly cooling. It has now been 3 months and 6 visits. It still doesn’t cool. Depending on the tech they send out they may find a ‘new’ cause or blame the previous tech for not doing something correctly. Either way, my unit is still not cooling and they want to come out for a 7th time. Mind you...it’s +100 degrees and our family cannot sleep in our beds due to the lack of competence by this company
This company was assigned to me by AHS and came out the next day for a heating problem. Corey was thorough in his diagnosis and fixed my trouble while educating me on what exactly had happened.
