    Daniel my technician, showed up on time. Very thorough and helpful. He answered a couple questions I had. I'm so glad I used this company for our new HVAC install.

    Rick the service technician today was amazing. He explained everything in detail that needs to get repaired with HVAC unit. I plan to call in few weeks to arrange the repairs through Monarch and request Rick to return and my dogs never barked while he was in the attic except when he finished outside and knocked on the door.     Infuriated with this company. Purchased system almost eight years ago when they were under the name of One Hour Heating & Air and now Monarch Home Services. Since the first year we have had nothing but issues and to this current date March 2, 2023 still having issues. It's been the same issue for several years now and even with expensive cleaning and repairs made, this same issue is still haunting us. The issue affects both the heating and air and after many many service calls for the same thing nothing has been resolved. The system is either a lemon as we have been trying to tell this company for years now or Monarch hires technicians that know zero about heating & air systems. After a little over 5 years of having the system one of Monarch's techs recommended we purchase an upgraded new system. Really? Is this your way of saying we can't fix it so replace it? There are not enough characters for us to voice in this review so here is a warning to all: STAY CLEAR of Monarch Home Services. We're stuck with them but you have a choice to go elsewhere. Monarch, wish we never heard of you.

    This Company is horrible, do not use them for your ac or heating needs. They charged me $6000 dollars for a new compressor motor and to replace ducts and clean vents . 3 weeks later today and my ac stops working . We call a local contractor and we we’re told that there was never a new compressor put on and that a kick switch was put on so we could hear it click. The weather just got warm this week which is why we just noticed no cold air coming in. They took advantage of an elderly woman. I have contacted my attorney and further steps will be taken . This Company never sent me an invoice , they said they emailed it but I never received it . I asked for them to mail it and never received it either . I’ve had to pay the local contractor almost $3000 for a new compressor and for the Freon . I repeat do NOT use this company.

    I don't really know how to rate this place. The service I believe is fine but their sales tactics are horrible, seem criminal to a point. I signed up for their monthly service program which is ok I guess. They came out, did the winter service and the technician went through his routine and asked if we were interested in new ac united. I told him possibly but it wouldn't be till next year before we could entertain the idea. He finished the service and said everything looked good with a few minor issues he took care of. Fast forward six months or whatever to the summer service and the same technician comes out, at my request, and again goes through his routine. He asked if we were still interested in a new unit in the future and this time I told him something like I think we are ok for now. We have other things going on and if it's just older but still running ok we're gonna hold off for now. Well after he did his checks low and behold this was going out, that was going out and it was in dire need of repairs, to the point where it was gonna cost north of $3000.... It was just weird how it went from everything is fine to completely shot in six months but only after I told him we didn't want to replace it anytime soon if we didn't have to. So I called a different company to come out and so far absolutely no issues what so ever. I guess if it goes out within the next year then I was completely wrong and I'll change this review to 5 stars.... So take that for what it's worth. Work was fine but the sales tactics are horrible (just my opinion).

    TL;DR Went to Costco. Costco uses Monarch for Lennox. Bought a Monarch brand HVAC system (ducts, condenser, evaporator, heat exchanger). Great warrantee (10 yr parts ,10 yr compressor, 20yr heat exchanger, 1 year labor, 3 years preventive maintenance) 4 day turnaround from purchase to install. 5.5 hour install. Very clean and professional. You don't have to go through Costco to use Monarch.

    Monarch is the company contracted through Costco for HVAC services in the Central Valley from Bakersfield up to Merced extending out to SLO. They are the company that is used at the Lennox kiosk in the store. You don't have to go through Costco to use Monarch. The longest wait I had was getting the home inspection (3 weeks).

    The home inspection was completed by Brent. Brent did a thorough inspection of my condenser (outside) unit, registers (vents), intakes, evaporator, heat exchanger (furnace), and delivery system (ducting). Having been a HVAC tech in a past life, I had an idea of what needed to be done, but I didn't have the tools or manpower. So, I was curious to see what Brent was going to say and/or upsell since I had already conducted my own inspection.

    I was pleasantly surprised that Brent hit all the major areas and took pictures of the areas that I missed. My HVAC system was over 20 years old. My ducting had holes in it from other techs (electricians, cable techs, solar, whoever was in the attic) that got a little hot and created their own vent but didn't patch it up. Not only that, but there were parts where the ducts had pulled away from the joints, so there were plenty of inefficiencies. I wasn't getting between 25%-35% of the air that was supposed to be delivered to the inside of my home. Instead, I was cooling/heating my attic.

    When we went over the cost of a new unit, I was really surprised that Monarch's own brand was much more affordable. It's not some foreign made product, but an American made product with a great warrantee:
    - AC: 10 year parts and 10 year compressor
    - Heat: 10 year parts and 20 year heat exchanger
    - All: 1 year labor, plus 3 years maintenance

    I decided to purchase the system that day.

    The system I purchased improved my unit's efficiency from a 5 ton 10 SEER to a 5 ton 16 SEER which should save me about 38% in energy costs.

    Install occurred 4 days after inspection and purchase. Install began at 7:15 AM and was completed at 12:45 PM. A total of 8 techs worked on my install. Tarps were laid throughout the house and at least three people carried large items (two carry, one guide) to ensure no walls were hit or nothing else damaged.

    After installation, airflow as noticeably better and operation of the system noticeably quieter. It remains to be seen how much more energy efficient the system will be.

    All the technicians we have experienced from Monarch have been really good. Recently Joshua came out to do our winter service. He was one of the most professional, kind and conscientious service people I've ever encountered. Not only was Joshua very respectful of me and our home, he was very mindful of a sick pet we are caring for in our home and adjusted how he did things to ensure it wouldn't affect our pet. Joshua was also very thorough, easy to communicate with and explained everything in detail.

    While Monarch can run a wee bit more than some other HVAC repair places, you get what you pay for and I would definitely recommend this service.

    We had Monarch I stall two new HVAC units. 6 months later it was giving us issues. A year and a half later and half a dozen visits from technicians we still have problems. They told me it is because it is dirty and wanted over $1000 to clean it. I talked to another HVAC company in Tehachapi and they showed me that it was installed incorrectly. They are also going to void the warranty because of "neglect". Avoid these scam artists!

    I have used Monarch Home Services in the past. However today I was impressed with the service that I received. It started with the scheduling of the appointment. I called at 730 am and by 8 I had already received a call back to confirm the appointment and by 9 I already had a technician at my house. The technician Joshua Lopez was real professional and competent. His instructions and explication were clear and I was able to understand what was going on with my A/C unit. He took my budget into consideration and was able to work with me. I was impressed with the service I received and would recommend Monarch to everyone. If I could I would recommend or request for Joshua Lopez to be my regular service technician.
