Do not under any circumstances use Chas Roberts. They told me the capacitor needed replacing on a unit just over a year old. Luckily I took an image of the meter reading and the old one was still good. I called and they are going to refund me for the capacitor. Secondly, we are on our second leak on a new unit. Under warranty but they installed aluminum going from the house to the outside unit and the welds notoriously breakdown. Thirdly they try and upsell you. Their AC maintenance program seems very reasonable but its nothing more than a bait and switch. They tried to sell me a compressor saver on a brand new unit. I don't think so!
I have a Chas Roberts system in my house. It’s 5 years old and I have had nothing but problems. I was able to troubleshoot my most recent AC issue down to a leaking evaporator coil, so I asked CR for a quote for a replacement. They told me they would not quote without coming out to diagnose and I would be charged $85 for the diagnosis. I told them I didn’t want a diagnosis, just a quote for a coil replacement. I was informed it was policy so I accepted. This was the diagnosis procedure that I paid for ..
Show up at house around 6. Walk up stairs. Open closet. Tech, “So you just want a coil replaced?” Me, “yes”. Technician begins typing into his estimating app on his phone. Tech, “That’s gonna cost $2985 to replace. Its gonna be $85 for the service call?” Me, “..but you didn’t do anything?!” Tech, “I had to drive out here.” As he peels back a piece of tape over some insulation and shrugs.
So be warned. They will charge you to come out and diagnose, even if you don’t want it. They won’t actually diagnose anything (or do anything at all really). And then charge way more than anyone else. Also, the technician just had a poor attitude in general. I understand you’re just waiting for the day to end on a Friday evening...but c’mon. You’re making your company look like trash.
Do not use Chas Roberts. Their equipment fails right after the warranty expires. Their customer service is miserable. They’re overpriced. And the workmanship is rubbish.
Chas Robert's did the initial install for our house and the regular maintenance. Our 4 yo unit died the other day and Chas Robert's did not have time to get to use quickly. When another company came out, the didn't believe we were getting the regular maintenance because it did not appear as though the coils were cleaned or anything was done. They think the breakdown occurred due to rushed/shoddy installation. They also note that system installed/zones aren't appropriate for our house.
This lack of quality and pride in workmanship has cost me a lot of money, and I am very disappointed.
Francisco came out this morning and detached the nick in pipe that was causing leak. He got it fixed and answered questions about a few other things and gave us tips to make vents work better. Great job!!
Francisco was on time and completed the repair in a timely manner. He answered our questions and gave us information on a service plan for our cooling and heating equipment.
I was having a problem with my A/C. Anthony came out and was very professional helped us out and fixed the problem! Would definitely recommend and we will use them in the future if needed.
Technician stuck with the repair thru completion. While this is to be expected, far too many times other technicians have said “good enough” and were satisfied with mediocrity.
Very happy with my AC service on 04/10. The technician Francisco found a leak in the system quickly, repaired it and recharged the system with coolant. The whole time he was cheerful and polite. The AC works better than when it was new. Great job!
