Amazing service and personality to go along with a smile. I felt as if the young man that took care of me that day actually cared and was highly concerned with the troubles that I was experiencing with my AC in my home. I highly recommend this company to all reading this!

Hendel's Air-conditioning is a family owned and operated company since 1970. They are honest and prices are competatively fair. The only service company that sells parts for the DIY customers. They have a unique business that is not the usual type of air and heating company. Go into the showroom for a tour of systems and become familiar with the replacement procedures, hands-on experience, with a knowledgeable Estimator. Full service company with a twist of customer service satisfaction above and beyond the norm.

Jared from Hendel's was here today and he was awesome. He took care of the problem and did a great job of explaining it.

He obviously knows his trade and 100% cares about what he's doing and about doing the right thing for the customer.

Thank you, Jared! And thank you, Hendel's!

Can't remember technician's name, but he was very courteous and knowledgeable of his job, everything works now. The Tech. Represented your company very nicely, yes I would use this company again.......

This is a family run business with a lot of charm. Go to the showroom and talk to people, its very easy to see why people trust the business; however in spite of that, it is only right for me to share my experience with an extremely poorly installed HVAC which failed throughout its much curtailed lifespan.

In 2007 the company installed an HVAC on my property, a rooftop packaged heatpump of 4 tons capacity. After just 6 months, the system had a faulty starter capacitor. Over the course of the next 12 years, the system had multiple minor and major (basically catastrophic) failures, including:
- start capacitor failures yearly
- extreme vibration and noise
- leaks caused by vibration, resulting in total loss of R22 charge 2 separate times

The unit has finally failed after its *third* failure resulting in a partial refrigerant charge loss.

So what does this have to do with Hendels? Well, it has everything to do with the installation job performed by the company... here's why:

Rooftop packaged heatpumps come installed in two ways, horizontal, or vertical; the former is how my house is arranged and how Hendels installed the unit. This means there is a large elbow attaching the unit to the rooftop where the supply and return ducts should pass. Inside of this elbow a major major mistake was made which cost the unit its lifespan and even showed signs of the mistake since that first starter capacitor blew in the 6th month....

Inside of the elbow, instead of running the supply directly to the supply opening, and the return directly to the return opening, the installers ended up needing to switch the sides... to achieve this, inside of the elbow they ducted a 14" flex duct section and routed it from one side to the other (like a z shape) producing a severely kinked and constrained return duct.

As a result of this, the HVAC could never breathe properly. In fact, as measured with an anemometer, the return would only flow roughly half of the airflow specified by the HVAC in tonnage, where 4 tons is roughly 1600 CFM. The after-effects of this on an HVAC are catastrophic over time, resulting in poor superheating which results of operation out of the nominal envelope... these things are written in the manual when you install a packaged heatpump and are very important and should never be ignored.

It is easy enough to put a packaged heatpump on a rooftop... it literally takes 20 minutes with a crane company and this process would cost a layman $55. With all of the remaining time and money, the last thing I would expect is a shoddy and incorrect job, coupled to literally zero post-install analysis and verification... which should include flow measurement, superheat measurement, and gas pressure checking at minimum.

Be careful fellow homeowners, you don't always "get what you pay for." Watch what installers are doing and never take their word for it; trust but verify.

Update Oct 21 2019 (In response to the owner's comment):
Actually, your example perfectly illustrates the problem about the perception of a *correctly* working air conditioner and the reality of one that isn't. At risk of belaboring the point to those who *do* understand this, let me explain...

When (air) flow is low, the result is that the air leaving the evaporator is colder than it would be if the flow was nominal. It's the same effect as dropping an ice cube into a shot glass of water vs. a cup of water. The greater the mass, the less cooling effect. Same for air, cause air has mass. Here's a Google search: "cowboysac" "ac-troubleshooting-whats-causing-my-low-airflow"

So, yes, measuring temps during a home inspection would pass the inspection. I wonder if that's the same level of inspection that your techs used when they verified my AC? 🤔

I just posted a review, but something happened, and it got lost. Bottom line, I am Very Happy with Hendels, their whole staff from the girls in the office, Sales, and Installation are true Professionals, in Evey sense of the word. My new unit replaced a 15 year old one, and I am very Happy with it .The Courtesy and Kindness extended by their whole staff made what could have been a Traumatic experience into a walk in the park. Would I recommend them You Betca On a Scale of 1 to 5 I give them a TEN

I contacted Hendel's recently on a Sunday to leave a message in hopes of being on a early call back list for the next day Monday, which also was a holiday (Memorial Day). To my surprise a gal answered and set up my appointment for the next day (on the holiday). My Lennox unit was not cooling and once the tech diagnosed the problem of a bad circuit board I thought this will be a fast fix. My unit falls into some goofy half year model which the Lennox parts department recognizes wrong and list the wrong part number. After Hendel's delt with Lennox several times (and wrong parts) they finally gave the correct part number which led to the correct part and my unit was up and running. This process lasted 19 days, several visits on Hendel's part and their expertise to get to the bottom of what was a Lennox problem. I couldn't be happier with their courteous service and professionalism. I'm sure that some other service dealers would have abandoned my situation. Hendel's stuck it out.

I've lived in the valley all my life so I've used many A/C company's in the past 30 years. My experience with Hendel's was a great experience to finally find a company that is fair, honest and fast. I will be using Hendel's for the next 30 years.
