AC handler went out July 3rd 10pm, Happy 4th of July. After searching on YouTube symptoms were tell tale "bad capacitor", went straight to Amazon.com, they had them but no delivery until July 6th even with Prime.
Got real nervous that a house full of people on July 4th was going to be toasty with a forecast today of 100F+.
Went to HomeDepot on-line found they sell Capacitors, good! Open on July 4th YES! Arrived at 6am only to find they do not carry Capacitors in store - figures. What now?????
Did a Google search and found Hendels air conditioning, open 7 days a week - Google says "hours maybe affected by holidays" open at 7am.
I thought I would give it a try, I had to give it a try because my whole family home in bed had dreams of a working AC on July 4th, no pressure right!!!
I arrived at Hendels 15 mins ago and couldn't leave parking lot before I wote this.
As I approached Hendels I immediately start looking for cars in the parking lot, if there is 1 or 2 then I could be in luck - YES Praise God there is a company in town that is not allergic to work and appreciates that an AC unit doesn't give two hoots what day it is.
Walked in the door, was met with a smile and " I'm about to make your day" Happy 4th of July!!!!!
I was like a kid on Christmas morning.

They had a direct replacement AND verified the old capacitor had sadly delivered its last charge.

Price was reasonable and the whole experience was amazing, service with a smile!!!!

This why we should shut down the world wide web and support local businesses.
Amazon and Home Depot was a big tease, yes they said they had it BUT I could not have it in my time of need.
Thank you Hendel so much for being a reliable neighbor, I am so grateful. My AC units are 18 years old, guess who I will be calling for new ones Hendel's Air Conditioning on Arizona Ave-they earned it-well done!

Tech was on time. Told us we needed a new thermostat, simply by looking at it (didn't bother to inspect or test it). Went on roof to inspect unit. Quoted us nearly $1,000 to repair our unit, and then went into a hard sell for a $6000 replacement. Took his information and got a second opinion from a competitor. None of what he suggested needed replacement, and the unit was back in operation after a simple repair. I paid $89 to have nothing whatsoever done to my AC and get a hard, car-salesman like sales pitch (which included a speakerphone call to the manager). The competitor was able to repair my unit to a serviceable condition for a savings of 95% over what Hendel's was trying to push me into.

I'm $90 poorer, and when I do need a new AC on my roof, it will not ever be through this company.

Had a capacitor go out on A/C unit, only store around that will sell to non-contractors. Service there was great and very helpful. Hendel’s will be the first company we call when any A/C needs arise in the future which we can’t handle ourselves. BTW, awesome store, worth a visit just to check out the old historical items inside.

These guys (and gals) were super helpful! The day before Christmas Eve my heater starting making a racket. They got me a blower wheel the next business day. When i replaced that it would blow air really well....cold air. I screwed something up! Then they let me in at 4:55pm and tested my capacitors before selling me any. Then as I was walking out she told me to check my thermostat batteries too. Sure enough they were dead, or about 5% life left. I don’t know if it was the dead capacitor or the dead batteries but the heater came back to life and I got to cancel my pending service call for the next day. I am definitely going to call them next time I have an ac or heater issue.

Excellent response time with my issue with the digital thermostat that they installed when they installed a new 6,000.00 heat pump. The thermostat locked me out! I wish they would have been proactive in letting me know this was even a possibility and I would have certainly kept the code to unlock the thermostat myself when the lock out happened. Cost was 100.00 just to have someone come to my house and enter a code into my thermostat. Seems like a policy that needs to be revisited and then more customer friendly/proactive at the installation.

This company was A-MAZING!! We had both of our units replaced and initially got 4 quotes. Hendels' price was WAAAAYY better than the other 3 companies for the Variable Units. Everyone that we dealt with were top notch, friendly, and knowledgeable. I would recommend them to everyone.

a/c temp rise from 78 to 81 degrees during hot part day

Called Hendel's sent tech out diagnosed bad condenser fan motor on Sunday

ordered motor and replaced it Tuesday afternoon and it did not fix the problem for almost 1300 dollars. Motor on line cost 475 dollars so we have 800 dollars in labor for 1/2 hour to replace the condenser fan motor and I stood there and watched so I knew how long it took

Sent another tech Tuesday evening and he diagnosed it as bad compressor motor but wanted 2nd opinion

Service manager came out Wednesday afternoon and diagnosed as leak in the system and low on a/c 401 . Added a/c 401 at no charge and system works fine

Still have to find the leak another tech coming the following Thursday to find the leak

Asked for the condenser fan motor back from Tuesday evening tech, service manager on Wednesday and the office personnel on Wednesday and they claimed they scrapped it .

I am not a a/c person but have a hard time believing that the motor and the system leak were both bad when the system was working fine prior to acting up on Saturday

Tech was suppose to come out today and find the leak but after thinking about the charge for labor and condenser fan motor and not returning the motor to me I lost all confidence in their integrity and honesty . Will look for another company to find the leak

We got home from work and our unit wasn't working right. Brad came out and worked on our unit. It was early evening and you can tell he had a long day. He was clean, polite and professional. I would recommend Hendel's to anyone.

So disappointed :(. We were warned to watch out for companies that do not automatically come back to add freon after installation (Hendel's did not do this until we called about problems with our unit 6 months later). I guess we should have listened.

After problems about a year after installation, our Hendel's technical then informed us it was wired incorrectly so the system was not working properly. 3 months after our 1-year labor warranty expired, the coil bursts...and they will not cover the labor or freon related items, which adds up to a nice chunk of change (despite a history of problems).

We have been disappointed in their customer service. You do get the feeling they would prefer you simply go somewhere else if you experience problems. When it comes to communication, it took us a lot of effort to maintain contact and get updates from them each time we had problems. For example, we called them for updates a few times yesterday (we cannot live in our house with 2 kids and 1 on the way, so we were hoping to get a target date for moving back) - each time we called yesterday, they expressed surprise that we had not yet heard back from them with updates (although we did always get promises of a "call right back")!.

I so wanted to like them and had handed out their cards to friends - their technicians seemed great - but I've since had to call those friends to take back my recommendation.

Who wants to use a company that informs you your new AC was not installed correctly in the first place? Whether it was related or not, it is disconcerting...and customer service showed no concern about improper installation since "that's something totally different."
