We have used Bruce’s for years, after a recommendation from my Father in Law, who has also been a long time customer. We have always been happy customers, until this summer.

Our AC stopped working in the middle of the night, so we called Bruce’s Air Conditioning first thing in the morning. Someone was able to come out midday and take a look at things. The technician spent some time inside and outside looking at things. After about an hour, he told us that we needed extensive repairs on our unit. This came as a huge shock to us, because our house and unit aren’t even 5 years old. The technician told us that because the cost of the repairs was so high, he recommended that we purchase a brand new unit.

We were completely taken aback, as purchasing a brand new unit was not something we were anticipating. I continually asked the technician if he could come back in a few days, so we could think about things. He wouldn’t answer me, and instead called his supervisor to see what payment options we had. Once the supervisor was on the phone, we started feeling very pressured into making a decision immediately. The supervisor went over payment options with us, one of which included using a relative’s information to open a line of credit and pay for a new unit. This is where the red flags started popping up for us. The supervisor even went so far as to ask us what unit we had been thinking about, even though we had literally just found out that we needed a new one. The supervisor and technician were incredibly pushy, and kept trying to pressure us to make a decision in that moment. We had to be very firm and tell them we needed time and weren’t going to be making any decisions right then.

We called out someone else for a second opinion the next day. This is when we were told that our unit had frozen over, and just needed to thaw. Otherwise, there was nothing wrong with it. I completely understand that sometimes people are wrong or mistakes are made, but my husband and I are clueless when it comes to AC systems, and we put our trust in Bruce’s. To have a technician and his supervisor be so pushy and insistent that we needed a new unit when nothing was actually wrong seems incredibly unprofessional and comes off like some sort of scam. I’m glad we listened to our instincts when we felt like something was wrong. The purpose of me writing this review is so that other people will think twice and get a second opinion before giving this company a ton of money. I would hate for someone to purchase a new AC unit unnecessarily, and be scammed by the company, like we almost were.

Having worked in the AC business, I am very particular about my service. Bruce's has always done a fantastic job for me and has always been fair with their pricing. Wesley, my usual technician, is always very professional and takes time to listen and provide feedback. I wouldn't trust my equipment to anyone else!

I wasn't getting heat. They found that my thermostat was not set appropriately. Set it and I have heat again. There service is great. Very friendly employees. I have used Bruce's Air for many years. I highly recommend them.

Knowledgeable, friendly staff on the phone and in person, and still operated by the founding families. Not pushy on trying to upsell unnecessary items just to make a sale. Came out for a seasonal tune-up on two units, took pictures of the indoor and outdoor components as they were being inspected, offered some suggestions and information on what was available for updates/upgrades in the future but was reassuring that for right now there weren't any immediate needs for major purchases. Recommended changing one small component which I accepted and also gave some approximations as to what may be the next items requiring service. The technician had been working 12-18 hour shifts for a week during the 115+ heatwave, and still arrived happy and ready to provide any assistance needed. There are many mechanical contractors in Arizona and finding a trustworthy ally for when something does break is very helpful. Going forward this will be the team I call and recommend to people who ask.

I want to start by saying that the guy who came out to give us our quote was lovely and personable, but I have a big problem with how they danced around actually giving us a quote. The most we got was a range, and he kept asking how many other quotes we had, how many we were going to get, what the other quotes were, etc. My husband and I both felt really uncomfortable with that line of questioning because why should it matter? Your company charges a rate, why can't you just quote us your rate given what needs done? It felt like weird, underhanded car salesman tactics. Not at all interested in playing this kind of game when we're talking thousands of dollars.

I called Bruce’s Air Conditioning on Sunday night at 4:45 PM because my air conditioner wasn’t working. They had somebody out by 6:30 PM and it only cost me $300 which included a brand new thermostat installation. I am extremely loyal to this company as they always take GREAT care of me!

These guys are seriously the best. My secondary drain line had water pouring out. I was very concerned that with all the humidity during monsoon season, my drip pan might soon spill 9ver into my attic and I'd have a real mess. I figured it would take them a few days because it's the middle of summer in AZ.
They were able to get me in same day. The gave me a 2 hr time window and sent a text when the technician was on his way. He said the main drain pvc was too corroded and he would just need to replace it.
He was in and out. No mess, no attempt to sell me unnecessary repairs and the job was completely quickly.
