Discount Mechanical Heating and Plumbing

Stephen is amazing. Always on time and professional. One of the few people in town who knows my specific, discontinued heating system he works hard to find the appropriate fix.

I had initially used this company because the previous homeowners had. A tech did come out and fix a leak on my on demand water heater and as part of the repair the tech had recommended two other maintenance items totaling over $900. I agreed to those service items and less than a month later my whole system shut down. They sent another tech out who assured me that the repair would be covered under the warranty from the previous maintenance. The service manager Reggie just said they had to order a part and would fix as soon as possible. So I waited two weeks without any hot water or heat (in 20 degree weather) for this flow sensor part to be ordered. The only updates I got were from the front staff who told me they wouldn’t be able to get to my job for at least another two weeks. The front staff was not only unresponsive but also unhelpful. I finally called other plumbers in town who both had the sensor, that was apparently on back order for discount mechanical, in stock because the on demand water heater I have is the most common ones in anchorage. (I also verified the part was in stock at a local heating in plumbing store after it was replaced.) So I had Moore Heating and Plumbing come spend all of 20 minutes to fix this sensor and it was cheaper than any bill I had from discount mechanical. I would under no circumstances use their service again. They left me without heat for two weeks waiting for a part that is in stock at multiple locations in town. Plus they are way more expensive than every where else I called.

Discount Mechanical had sent me a quite to quote to replace the flow sensor initially for $900 and Moore Heating and Plumbing charged me $300. So they would have overcharged me $600!

Setting up the appointment for troubleshooting my furnace was easy. Text message updates were a nice bonus for status updates. Technician arrived in a timely manor and went straight to work. Turned out that the furnace was not safe to be in service, but the tech related the bad news professionally and let me know what steps to take until an estimate for repairs and/or replacement could be performed. Will call Discount Mechanical upon future needs.

Kirk was very professional and was able to solve the issue very quickly and was also extremely knowledgeable on the equipment.

I had an anchorage plumbing and heating company that I have been using for 20 years due my yearly maintenance said he found nothing wrong with the furnace was here 1-1/2 hrs and I was cooking Thanksgiving dinner so my oven had been on for hours so I did not feel the chill in other parts of the house til around 7:00pm checked the heaters they were cold checked the furnace it was not on so I panicked tried the company that was here and they had no after hours service my son called Discount Mechanical they could have someone out in 1/2 hour; Kirk Panzer rescued me he identified the problem right away also my hot water tank was out he got both of them going very quickly he was very knowledgeable of the system he was honest and very kind he saved me from frozen pipes and able to finish preparing Thanksgiving dinner for my family. I am changing my business to Discount Mechanical and if I could give Kirk 10 stars I would do so. I highly recommend Kirk and Discount Mechanical

Kirk replaced the water shut off valve in my foxridge condo. Top notch. This is my second time using this company.
