Will never call South Shore again. They put in our furnace and our air conditioner within two years, and the furnace wasn’t working properly. The technician came out for 20 minutes tops, told us he cleaned some junk out of the fan, got charged for ‘diagnostics’ and a ‘tune-up’. There is a list of items to check for a ‘tune-up’, he did this all within the 20 minutes between his ‘diagnostics’ as well? Right.... will no longer be a customer. What a joke.

A professional and courteous crew arrived and exchanged my old A/C and furnace for new ones. They were helpful and able to answer any questions I had. They also went above and beyond by fixing a stuck locking mechanism on one of my doors. I highly recommend South Shore Heating, Air Conditioning and Hydronic LLC.

9-5-2020 My furnace wasn't working and it was on a cold weekend in March 2019. So I had to call South Shore as my regular furnace company that I used never showed up or called the last time I called them and scheduled an appointment. So I figured that they weren't as reliable as they once were. I called South Shore before thinking that I'd get the same service. I also called around for different places too for weekend prices. I was so wrong! I remember calling South Shore on August 12, 2016 because water from the drain hose was leaking unto the burners and I was concerned about having problems with that. So Jeremy came out and checked everything then said the hose was plugged so it had to be replaced. He was very nice and explained what he was doing. He did other checks as well with my furnace and air. The fee wasn't too bad and why I called them again, but this time it was on a weekend. Chris came out and smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Not good as both of us have asthma. He checked a few things rather quickly and it was the ignitor, which was an expensive part.
He never gave me the correct cost of how much it would cost to repair beforehand and said "It won't be that much." And it ended up being a lot more than what he said about. Which was "a couple hundred." That turned out to be a lot more a couple minutes later and I was appalled. But he still didn't give me an actual estimate. I was floored when he gave me the actual bill! But what could I do as the work was already done? So there was no "straight forward pricing list" done here. He said that I didn't need to have a tune up as it was done already. I question that because it didn't take him very long and it was far from the 18 things he checked off that he did. I read that it takes anywhere from an hour or an hour and a half or so. I also need a new furnace and he suggested that, but didn't say anything else about it. Only that the furnace was 4 yrs. older then when I got it in Oct. 1999. So it went another year for it to keep working though now it makes a loud noise like a motor. This morning I got a voice message from them wanting to service it, as "It's that time of year again." Not sure if I want them to do this again as it was never suggested what I should do and when or what price range, now that it's on its last legs and wasn't put on the last order about that either. I don't want a round about of what it's going to cost, then have them end up charging almost double of what he said! I'm on a fixed income and need to know exactly how much! I hate being ripped off! 😠👎
9-4-2020 Had to call another company as the air was leaking water again. Didn't think that it was the hose again as it was replaced August 2016. Also had him check the furnace while he was here as it was making a loud motor noise this past winter and the ignitor was bad again. That was replaced in March 2019 from this company. Don't like being ripped off and would never deal with them again. BTW both checked out "ok" and no loud motor sound. Oh and charged significantly less for the ignitor and did a full check on the furnace. Was here for more than an hour.

This company was sent my referral from my home warranty company. They told me that I was put on the schedule for the day and that someone would call 15 minuets prior to their arrival. I never received this call so when I talked to their after hours person after having to stay home and wait the entire day, the after hours person couldn’t give me any I mean any information at all and said “I’m just the after hours person.” When at 9pm at night was finally contacted I was told they would come the next day between 9am and 12pm. I asked for a more exact time since I have a busy day that day and was very upset about all of the unprofessionalism I said I was going to file a complaint with my home warranty and they canceled my call at 10:30pm!!! It’s supposed to be very cold this week and I’m being left with a furnace that doesn’t work and I have a 2 year old at home. I would NEVER recommend this company!!! They are EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. If I could give them negative stars I would.

They were professional friendly and most of new what they were doing! I had a different company work on my boiler last year and messed it up ! The previous company left it running poorly and unsafe . I had a feeling it wasn’t right so I call Southshore heating to the rescue! The boiler now runs like new !
