I contracted with Washington Energy Services to install a split heat pump system in part of my home in Seattle. Overall, they did a great job. The estimator was knowledgeable and let me know about many options without pressuring me into any specific one. Their rates were the best among the contractors that submitted bids. Between making the deposit and starting work, the office staff were pretty responsive and helpful. The crew arrived on the scheduled date and were very professional. They were also flexible in terms of making adjustments to the plans to work around issues found during installation. The things that went wrong were in the initial charging of refrigerant in the heat pump and in not securing the condenser to the building. They had to come back the next day to finish the refrigerant installation, and it wasn't until inspection that I found out that the condenser had to be secured. Overall, I'd recommend them.

[update: since posting my reviews, a manager reached out, and it turns out they had refunded the overcharge, but never bothered to tell me, and my project advisor made it seem like it hadn't been refunded because he kept just saying he was looking into it for the past 2 months. So, communication was very poor, both internally within WES and with me. To be fair, the manager has done a good job trying to make things right and the window installation itself went very well, but I still can't give a positive review since my overall experience was bad. Below is my original review] I was overcharged for my window installation, and more than 2 months and 7 follow up emails with my project advisor Lino Constantino about it, the overcharge has not been corrected. I don't mean "I paid too much for what I got," I mean they charged me more than the amount in the signed contract. They acknowledged the error but have simply refused to correct it. It has also taken an excessively long time to complete the installation - it will have been a FULL YEAR from when they first came out to when it will (hopefully) finally be over. They first came out to measure Jan 26, and I had to follow up a week later to get the quote; after months of delay we finally had a signed contract in place April 7. Then 4 more months of waiting until the installation finally happened July 12. Except they didn't have the screens. They finally installed the screens on Sept 14, after a summer of bugs filling my house (I don't have AC, so keeping windows shut was not an option). Except that's not the end of it--one of the screens didn't fit, so they had to order a different one, and I just found out that won't be ready until January or February. If you want terrible, slow service and to be overcharged, choose WES. If not, I recommend going elsewhere. I will never hire WES again.

We recently had Washington Energy Services out to install six new windows in our 1915 home.

Everything about our experience was absolutely professional and about as easy as it could have been.

Our sales rep, Nick, was excellent to work with. Very low pressure, informative, and knowledgable.

The office staff who handled the scheduling was prompt and professional the entire time, even when I completely missed a voice mail message from them and it took me over a week to notice it. :-)

The installers were possibly the most delightful of any installers I’ve ever had in y home. Brian and Matt were respectful and careful of our three indoor cats, cleaned up so well, there was no evidence they’d even been here when they were done (other than the new windows), and were done ahead of schedule.

There was one problem with our order. Our bathroom window arrived without the frosted lower pane that was ordered. As soon as Brian and Matt noticed this, they put in a call to the office, and we had a replacement pane ordered within minutes. Two weeks later, another installer whose name I don’t remember, came out and it took him all of five minutes to replace the clear pane with the frosted one.

I was very satisfied with the price, the professionalism, and the speed with which Washington Energy services worked, and I’ll definitely be using them again for future work in my home.

Don't Use!!! When our generator stopped working from a dead battery, we saw a phone number sticker for Wa Energy services who had originally installed the unit. After waiting 2 weeks, the tech came, spent less than 3 minutes looking at our generator before stating the unit was ruined from the dead battery and gave us a bid for $15,000 to replace it. $10,000 for a new generator and $5000 for labor. A new online comparable is $5000!
We appreciated competency and honesty and were so happy when we called Chris with The Generator Doctor who came out and maintained and replaced the battery for a fraction of WES bid!

We had two French sliding doors installed recently and plan to have our front door replaced soon. Everyone was professional and helpful. Our sales rep Todd answered all our questions. Todd and Kevin were very helpful when choosing styles, features and finishes that look great and function well for our needs. I can feel overwhelmed when faced with multiple options and their input made me feel confident in our choices. The office staff were great at setting an appointment that worked with our schedule and keeping us informed when our front door did not meet Washington Energy Services' quality inspection (wrong color) and needed to be reordered. The installation team Jerry and Joe were friendly and efficient - they were able to complete both doors in one day. They explained all the features and made sure I was satisfied with the finished doors before leaving. Work site was left clean and we love our new doors!

I never want Washington Energy Services to step into my home ever again. I warn all my friends against them. I hired them to do a new ductless AC installation in my century home. They were very quick on day 1 and got me running the day before the heat wave. Heating/cooling worked great. But they left HUGE open holes in the walls for tubing. Why so big??? I was told I’d get a call to schedule the next day to finish the job. Weeks went by. I called multiple times, was told somebody would call me by EOD, nothing. Finally I hear that the manager of my account left and it fell through the cracks. Five huge holes in my walls have been open the entire time, just inviting pests into my house and between the walls.

Six weeks after the holes were cut, somebody comes out to “seal” them. He used CAULK to “seal” the 6”x6” square holes on only one side (each hole has outside and inside portions of wall). Right after he turned his back to move onto the next, the caulk already separated. I was speechless. Did he think I wouldn’t notice because I’m a woman or something? I then called WES to ask politely that they send somebody out to fix this mess. Somebody came out and installed metal plates instead so rodents can’t get in, which I’m happy about. but my walls were open for weeks - I could already have pests in them! But wait, it’s not over.

I had a city inspector come out FOUR TIMES until the job finally passed inspection. Issues included not sealing the holes well and also exposed copper pipe to drip condensation into my attic. The third time WES came out, I politely but firmly requested that a manager join to observe so the job would get done. Every time I called to have somebody come out, it took multiple phone calls, each one with a broken promise that somebody would call me back, until I could finally get through to somebody. It finally passed inspection, but it looks very ugly where the tubes go into the house by the heat pump. The inspector commented that it looked particularly bad. I waited until it finally passed to post this review.

I did the math. I calculated my hourly rate at my job. WES wasted at least $1500 of my time. This whole thing lasted six months. I wish so much that I had paid the extra thousand dollars to go with Seatown or Greenwood. The low quote just isn’t worth it - steer clear.

I had all my home window glass replaced and a new patio door installed. Brian, Evan and Vince were the best...on time, professional, efficient, careful with my wood floors and helpful with my requests. The scheduling, communication and paperwork throughout the process was excellent. Couldn't be happier with my decision!

With a 20+ year old home, we knew a new furnace was coming soon. After getting bids and talking to several companies, we decided to use Washington Energy Services. The pricing was close but they weren’t the lowest or highest, but they were the most responsive and I felt very good about the product. The install went as planned and we are very happy with everything,

This company takes no responsibility for their work. They had a technician diagnose my not working hot water heater. They ordered a part and came and installed it a few days later to find that that part didn't fix it. They won't remove the new part and put the old one back in and they won't leave your property until you pay. Management claims they are not responsible because the diagnosis was done by the manufacturer since their technician called their help line, but they are happy to charge you a diagnosis fee although apparently their technician did nothing.

Washington Energy installed a 24 kilowatt generator, replaced our heat pump, and converted our furnace to propane,
The technicians were knowledgable, courteous, and always willing to answer questions. They did a great job; I highly recommend them to anyone needing their services.
