Chandler Kron was our tech and did a great job of maintenance on the furnace of the house we have recently moved into. He also checked heat registers, repaired faulty duct work in the crawl space and caught an issue with our water heater that is important to correct. All in all, a really thorough and meticulous job!

As a general rule I very much dislike contractors and Braxton with his team managed to come through every time. From the estimate to the install to the inspection and yearly maintenance they have been top notch. I highly recommend Braxton and his team. The products they sell perform well too.

We had our furnace stop working a week before our interior was scheduled to be painted. We called 1st Response Heating & Air Conditioning Solutions to come and diagnose the issue. Carson, one of their technicians, came to the house and I was immediately impressed with his professionalism and quality of work. While they did not have the part they needed on hand, they were able to get it quickly and even pre-scheduled an emergency installation Friday night. While I wasn't able to be at the property, once the installation was finished, Carson even asked what we'd like the thermostat set to -- when THAT wasn't working, Carson went out of his way to diagnose that issue and fix it on the spot so we would have heat for the painters the next day. Overall, I am incredibly impressed with the quality of work and professionalism of 1st Response's crew and support staff. I highly recommend their services and will be using them again in the future.

Like a lot of 1-star reviews, we initially had a great experience during the estimate and installation process. Chandler came out and gave us a lot of advice about what systems and machines were needed. At the end, we decided to update our furnace and upgrade to a tankless water heater, in addition to adding an AC unit. All in all, the final estimate came out to about $30K.
During the installation process, the only thing we thought was a bit odd was that the installer was watching a lot of youtube videos on how to install furnaces, tankless water heaters, and AC units. We didn't think much of it since I'm sure different suppliers have different installation specs, but now that we're experiencing so many problems, in hindsight that was probably a red flag.
Since installation happened about 6 weeks ago, we've have two separate leaks happen on the tankless water heater that 1st Response has been quick to address. Annoying that it happened, but understandable.
The reason for my negative review is that 6 weeks in, last week was the first time we've really had to rely on the AC and IT DOESN'T WORK! $30K spent adding a new AC and upgrading the furnace and we don't have a working AC system. There's a horrible sound coming from the AC unit and every time we call 1st Response, we get connected to their dispatch service and all they can do is take a message, mark it as an "emergency" and promise to have a service manager follow up. I've called them at 8 am, then again at noon, then 2pm, and finally at 4:30pm and I've not received one call back.
The next thing on my list is to file a complaint with the BBB and then I'm contacting their bond company. Maybe they'll respond then because as a customer who paid them $30K merely 6 weeks ago, they're not responding to multiple "emergency" requests.
If you're expecting a company that responds to their customers in a timely manner and stands behind their workmanship, look elsewhere. I get that a lot of people have had a great experience with them and that's what initially attracted us to 1st Response but when the going gets tough and you're suddenly not on the happy path, you're left out in the cold (or in our case, the hot as it is 83 degrees indoors as I type this -- it's 82 degrees outside).

My wife and I recently purchased a home in Seattle and our home inspector recommended 1st Response Heating and Air Conditioning as a great partner for all HVAC related work.
In preparation for the summer, we reached out to a several companies, including 1st Response, to get quotes for an AC unit. My wife is also pregnant, so it was important for us that everything goes smoothly and was ready ahead of the summer.
Starting with the quote and initial walk-through process, 1st Response was the most responsive, professional, organized, friendly, and helpful company we found. They were super quick in getting back to us about appointments, options, and quotes. Their staff was always super friendly and accommodating in all communication (in person, phone, and e-mail). When they came out for the initial walkthrough, they talked through all the various options based on our needs and what was feasible for our home, and we ultimately felt great about finding an option that met our budget and worked for our home.
We then worked with Nayr'b over the following weeks to pick the final option, order the units, orchestrate the appointments, and put down the deposit. She was absolutely fantastic, super responsive, kept us always up to date, and explained the full process in detail.
Few weeks before the units arrive, Rylan came out to plan out the project. He was thorough in setting expectations. He was also very patient in listening what our needs and requirements were and finding the best place to install the units. I asked about a few additional options during the visit, e.g. get a new thermostat, but Rylan didn't try to upsell me, which I found very refreshing.
Once the units arrived, Rylan and team (I can't remember everyone's name) came out to install the actual units. The project (which included central AC + split unit) took three days as promised, and everyone was super professional and considerate. This was a big factor for me because our furnace is right next to my office and I work from home, so seeing how thoughtful the team was to reduce any noise or disruptions was really great. The quality of the work was great and totally met my expectations. My home is over 100 years old, so I was very happy that the team managed to make everything blend in seamlessly.
As a new owner of a 100-year-old home, finding the right contractor is an absolutely daunting task to me but I am so happy that my inspector recommended 1st Response. You're in really great hands if you go with them!

My furnace stopped turning on yesterday morning. I called 1st Response and left a message with their answering service and they got back to me as soon as they opened. Chandler was able to come out that afternoon, and he got a temporary solution in place that has the furnace working again until the parts come in on Monday. He was professional, friendly, and happy to explain to me how things inside the furnace work so I could understand the issue.

I would like to share my experience to help the owners and others who might be looking into installing an AC unit.
I called to make an appointment for an estimate, they gave me an appointment for a month and a half out as their soonest appointment slot. I was able to get 3 different company estimates and set up an installation date before the date they gave me to give me a quote. It made me wonder how far out their installation would be. I sure didn't want to spend another 100+ degree summer with out AC.
