Henry Romero Arias was our service technician on Tuesday, May 10, 2023. Upon his arrival, he was VERY professional, personable and respectful of our property. He took the time to explain all his work. Henry addressed ALL of our questions and concerns. He suggested cleaning our outdoor systems and replacing a condenser. We didn’t feel he was trying to up-charge us at all. He was very honest and upfront with all of his comments and recommendations. This was the first time Henry serviced our units. I will be requesting him SPECIFICALLY moving forward!

This company is a disaster, and has not completed a single job correctly for me. They are too worried about trying to sell you overpriced junk you don't need, that they can't do the job you hired them for correctly. I made the mistake of asking them to replace my HVAC system. First, they put in a broken system. When it wasn't working, the inspector said that the installer either didn't test it before leaving or lied about it so that he wouldn't have to deal with taking it back out and getting a new unit. Then they go through a week of excuses and apologies (with no AC in August), and they promise money back (which they don't follow through on). Now, I had them come inspect the 6 month old system (only used them because it was free included with the new system). They wanted to sell me an $1,800 duct cleaning (because their brand new system can't operate correctly??), and in his sales pitch, he did not record the make/model and serial number of the brand new unit he took apart trying to find something he could charge me for. Now, my condo company won't accept their inspection within the required info, so their "free inspection" was a waste of my time while I still have to have it done again unless they can stop tripping over themselves long enough to fix their mistake. My condo company said they've had lots of issues with this company not listing this information, which is standard around the industry for competent companies. I've never had a worse experience or been more disgusted with the customer service (if you can even call it that), then I have unfortunately experienced multiple times now from McCarthy Services. When even the "free trial" is painful, I'm going to run as far and fast as I can to never encounter this company again. They are a DISASTER!
I had a new AC unit installed in January so McCarthy Services came out to do the start up inspection. Alex was so friendly and took the time to thoroughly review the unit and my ducts to identify the root cause of a concern he spotted. Can’t say enough great things about him and highly recommend!
McCarthy’s technician, Jeremiah, arrived on time, was always friendly and professional, and only recommended a service that was truly needed. He handled the service quickly and thoroughly. And he was kind to my dogs and granddaughter, which is always important when you let someone into your home!
This company will tell you they are coming and then not show up multiple days in a row. But once they arrive, they will do a great job.
Our situation:
4/5 a technician was scheduled to come, but they never showed.
When I called, Mike from the call center said that there was a scheduling system glitch; we were assured a tech would come "first thing in the morning"
4/6 9-12pm a technician was scheduled to come, but they never showed.
At 12pm, I called and Tracy said that technicians were not able to come during the scheduled morning time slot, but they would definitely come during the 3-6pm timeframe instead. At 2:45pm, we received a call that a "technician is on the way and will arrive within the hour". At 4:30, they had not arrived and Mike said our appointment would need to be rescheduled. Upon being asked again, Jim/Manny authorized a technician to come to our home and Mike said they would come before 6pm. The tech arrived at 7pm.
However, everything that happened after the tech (Oscar) arrived was FANTASTIC. He was professional, efficient, kind, and friendly. If you’re willing to potentially wait, it’s worth the wait.
DM Select was acquired by McCarthy Services. This was their first visit under the service contract McCarthy inherited. I contemplated changing my contractor, but John Mealey (badge no. 065683) saved the day for McCarthy by providing friendly, thorough service when he arrived. Thanks to Mr. Mealey I will stick with McCarthy. A couple weeks later, we needed a shower drain unclogged. Angel arrived on time, was polite and professional. Did a complete snaking of a very clogged drain. A bit pricey, perhaps, but no complaints.
Called on Sunday and got a Monday appointment. Brian showed up to inspect and verify the WH age (12 years) and likelihood of repair. We agreed a new unit made sense and he spent approx ten minutes preparing the quote. During the appointment he was friendly and showed patience throughout. He explained they could install later the same day, and worked with me to unearth any discounts. Due to his professionalism and praise of McCarthy I elected to move forward with them.
The work crew showed up on time as promised and were also polite and professional getting right to work. The job was completed without any mess and off they went.
Had a new HVAC system installed in Spring 2020, spent about $5000 and I've had issues with it every year so far. I've had to spend an about an additional $450 to have items fixed. The warranty just covers the parts not labor, so if a $25 part fails you still have to dish out hundreds to have someone fix it. So I'm sure I'll have to keep dishing out hundreds of dollars each year just to keep the system running. Honestly I wish I would have just bought the cheapest system you can at Home Depot. Would have saved thousands and kept cooler too.
The technician came in and did an AC System Check. He was very professional, knowledgeable and had given me tips to be aware of should anything happens in the future. I will continue to use them going forward. The pricing was great as well.
