We used GVEC to install a new AC unit in our home, which replaced the 10 year old unit that came with it. Initially, the service was great. However, it declined pretty quickly about 6 months in. Our unit was installed in May 2019 and has not been working quite right since. For nearly 2 years, we have been trying to get GVEC to fix our brand new unit that we paid $10,000 for. We have had countless AC techs come out to service it and take a look and none of them know how to fix it. One of those techs also did something and forgot to put a part back or take a part off (idk as I’m not familiar with these things) but right after they left and had fiddled with the unit, our ceiling began to leak which caused water and paint damage to the ceiling itself. They only came to undo the damage directly related to the unit itself and never offered to take care of the ceiling damage which was a direct result of their negligence. That’s besides the point, though, as that is minor compared to everything else. As I said, all of the techs that have come out don’t know how to get the unit working properly again. We were told we needed a new part, and as one reviewer mentioned above, went through the same process of waiting and waiting on the warehouse and then an available time to come out, which totaled several months when all said and done. When the tech finally did come, it turned out we didn’t even need that part and that they ordered the wrong part and someone would call. No one ever calls! Then someone else came and told us we don’t need a part but that the zoning board was messed up…another tech told us our unit isnt working as efficiently as it should be. They all say something different, but the one constant is that it’s screwed the heck up. The last we heard, the superintendent himself would come to our home to figure the issue out. He never came and when we called to follow-up, we were told that he is no long with gvec. As a result, the process started over again and that someone would be in touch. Guess what? No one called! Our electricity bills for the last two months have been over $600 and more expensive than they ever were with our old unit since we’ve had this new unit installed. My advice would be to stay as far away from this company as you can. They take advantage of their customers and refuse to provide the service you pay for. We have a $10,000 piece of junk in our attic that will never work properly until we get a new one or pay another company to fix or replace. Just remember, 2 years! It’s insane that we still have no resolution after all this time.
The technician was very professional and knowledgeable. The problem was identified, however GVEC did not have the replacement thermostat on the service vehicle. The technician put a request to the office to have a thermostat located and to call me back for installation.
John witu GVEC came over for an estimate on insulation. He was personable, thorough, professional, courteous and knowledgeable about the services requested. He also gave appropriate expectation about how monies for the service would be collected as well as when service personnel would contact me about scheduling. I'm very satisfied with John's visit to my home.
Today is 22 May 2023 - Have been without A/C since 7 May. Took 2 wks to get parts that should have been in their stock. When parts installed on 19 May it was realized it wasn't the only problem. His initial thought was correct but that part now has to be ordered!! We still have no A/C from a new unit purchased from GVEC less than 3 yrs ago!! FROM 8 May to now, no texts or calls to reply to my message left with request for info have ever been answered!! Terrible way to run a company...appears no mgt is being used at GVEC. Very poor customer service & mgt of parts in stock. This isn't the 1st issue with this unit & NEST installed with unit we & a neighbor, who had same parts go out last year & purchased same unit & time-frame we purchased our new unit. Hope the company improves their management & service to their customers soon. Dolores Moore
The repairman repaired our air conditioning unit that had quit cooling. His work was quick and professional. The one problem I have, is even though it was a Sunday, $560.00 seems a bit much for 20 minutes work and the replacement of a $20.00 part
The installers were awesome! They quickly resolved the issue er were having. They got off to a late start but the job got done. We can tell the difference in the new unit that was installed. We would definitely recommend them.
