We loved our experience with Thayer!! Jonathin was super honest, helpful, and kind. Highly recommend using this company whether you need a repair or a servicing. Oh, I called yesterday and they made time for us this morning - we were impressed considering the time of season. Very pleased!!!
Thayer A/C is now our service provider. We were with another company but the professionalism and knowledge of the service techs from Thayer won our business. Fletcher was great and he went right to work and fixed our unit to perfect working order. I am very happy and confident with Thayer!!
I guess I am the anomaly to all these reviews. We have not had good experiences with Thayer. We had a brand-new system installed in December of 2019. Nothing but issue after issue after issue with the system and technicians responding. A total of TEN visits in in 3 ½ years correcting issues on this new system. Leaks detected and recharging of freon multiple times. Had to replace the evaporator coil TWICE since the new system was installed. Technicians cracked the drain pan with the first warranty replacement on the evaporator coil and wired something incorrectly. A supervisor caught both issues on another visit months later. When repairing the cracked drain pan the technician took the pvc P trap to the drain line, full of water, and tossed it over into attic insulation, allowing the water to drain out through my ceiling dry wall and staining it. When cleaning the drain pipe the technician blew air into the drain line, dislodging sediment down to where it connects above the P trap in our half bathroom sink. The technician didn’t bother to clear the bathroom sink line and the sink stopped up after he left.
Upon replacement of the SECOND bad evaporator coil the technician found that a previous technician broke the UV light and left it just hanging to the side door of the air handler. Another visit for a failed capacitor. Another visit for the outside unit not staying on, in which the technician could only tell me it’s something to do with the pressure or a communication error…but would not offer me any solution and left. Final visit from a supervisor confirmed the freon had been over pressurized likely when they installed the second evaporator coil. The supervisor released some of the freon which then prevented pressure switch from constantly tripping, which then started to properly cool house. Why the previous technician couldn’t do that I have no idea.
The only positive experience I had were from two supervisors, Kurtis and Chris, that showed up on separate occasions to correct technician’s previous work. They knew their stuff.
Call after call to this company. Recently they don’t even pick up the phone. For days their phone just rings over to an answering service, even on normal business days. I have had multiple service call windows not honored, with technicians showing up late. When I say late, I mean HOURS late with little to no communication.
I asked to speak to the owner four different times over the past two years. I was promised calls back from the owner. Never once got one. I don’t feel my time or money is respected.
Our upstairs AC went out during a heat wave. All my children’s bedrooms are upstairs, and none of them could sleep in their rooms because of the heat. Chris was an awesome technician. He came out within 24 hours of our call, and repaired our unit within 30 min. My kids are so happy to be able to sleep upstairs again!
My technician Fletcher was very knowledgeable about his job and did great work on fixing my AC issues. I would recommend Thayer for all your HVAC needs.
We had Thayer Air Conditioning give us a second opinion on whether we needed a new installation, and we're certainly happy that we did. Not only was our current unit covered in mildew, but the duct work was crumpled and the platform we had paid to have installed a few years back was shabbily done.
Chris Thayer came and gave us the estimate we needed for an entire overhaul of our system, and we are happy to report that we made a great decision by hiring his team to complete this project. Cesar, Robert, and Danney were very professional, courteous, kind, and explained everything from day one including all of the snags and issues they ran into, but were able to fix properly. They answered numerous questions, cleaned up after themselves, and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them since they were working at our house for numerous days (it was A LOT of work that we needed done).
We absolutely love our new Amana S Series, and how efficient and quiet it is along with how much of a difference it has made already. Once the electrician comes this week we'll have the dehumidifier and UV filters up and running as well which will be the cherry on top. Since we work from home, having a great AC unit is key along with a trustworthy company providing the services needed.
We are so grateful to the team at Thayer Air, and cannot recommend them enough!!
Highly recommend going with Thayer! Kurtis did a thorough inspection on our system and recommended we install a purification system to help with the dirty sock syndrome. He did a great timely job and was able to install the system same day. The system has already made a noticeable different. The level of service I received was top notch. Great Job Thayer!
Technician was knowledgeable and he took his time to answer all my questions. I didn’t feeling like he was trying to overcharge me, but to give me the best quality. I had already had previous quotes and this one was sig less than the highest bid, but still had value and effectiveness. The air is def cleaner!
I called on Monday to set up a time for a maintenance call as we prepare for winter. I was amazed to get a same day appointment just for maintenance. I received a text message after scheduling to confirm the time . Then when the guys came out they texted that they were in their way. Johnathan and Fletcher were professional. They were respectful of my home. I appreciated their review of my system and had them do a couple of quick updates which went well. I highly appreciate their promptness and professionalism. Highly recommend!!
So like most I read the reviews and decided to use their services. Unfortunately I feel like ultimately I was taken advantage of. I will admit it’s my fault for not doing more research. “Gentleman” came out and spent about ten minutes in the attic stated he believed the capacitor was shot. Went outside and came back to confirm. I gave him the ok to proceed, which took him maybe an half hour. Came in to discuss payment and stated it was $500 and some change. I was completely shocked being my home is less than 5 years old, not to mention him trying to up sale me on other products and when all was said and done I was able to negotiate it to $400, still believing I was paying too much but just wanted it done. Well after doing more research and conversing with two of my neighbors who had the exact same issue, both used different local companies and paid less than $225. And the simple research on google that I should have done prior stated the average cost to replace a capacitor in our zip code was $170. Lessons learned, shame on me. So tread carefully with good ole Thayer.
