Abacus Plumbing, Air Conditioning & Electrical

This was my first time using Abacus, and I'm so happy I did. Our sink drain was getting slower and slower, and it had overflowed a couple years ago, so we jumped on it this time. Abacus had easy appointment scheduling online with text messages to confirm and send me info on technician, who called when he was about 30min away. Rick was awesome! Super friendly, personable, professional, and informative. He explained so clearly what was causing the issue (A/C condensation line) and the different options there were to fix it, both temporarily and permanently. He was clean and efficient in fixing the problem. I would definitely use Abacus again and ask for Rick next time.

Excellent experience with their lead plumber technician, Jason. He was super responsive, courteous and very professional! He called ahead, went out of his way to coordinate my request. He did a thorough inspection of my sewer line, he went well beyond my expectations. He provided cost up front. He took the time to investigate the root cause of problem and he was thoughtful to ensure that I was offered the best available rate. I have full peace with these guys every time. Abacus is the best!

Suspicious of all the positive reviews, my experience was rather different! Called Abacus because my air was blowing but not cold in "Texas". The unit is 2 yrs old thought would be a simple fix. A technician named NOE came and stated that the drain was blocked, and quoted me a price of $400.00 which took 10min to fix. As I sit here typing this my unit is still blowing hot air, and dripping onto my siding. According to online, this should have been done for under $150 bucks, maybe because of where I live these contractors are free to state various prices, All in all, I was taken advantage of be careful, Abacus is a SCAM!

Jonathon Carley and Gary Shelton, along with their crews, are some of the best workers that I have ever met. Jonathon came out quickly and handled an emergency issue that was stressing me out, replacing a pipe that was leaking from the main to our house. His competence and sense of urgency removed all of the stress I had with the process. He has a compassionate confidence about him that is rare and will put you at ease. Gary excavated for the new pipe and it was obvious by the quality of his work that he has incredible experience. There was no mess after the job was done, and I was impressed that I couldn’t even tell any work was done. It was perfection.

I truly believe that exceptional workers gravitate to exceptional companies, and because of workers like Jonathon and Gary, I am loyal to Abacus. 10/10 recommend!

Master electrician made solid recommendations for replacement of 3 breakers (including the main) and the ground rod. Service tech came early the next day and completed service in 30 minutes. Fast and efficient. Peace of mind knowing that system will be reliable for years to come. Thanks Abacus.

From the time you call in they are so friendly, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Vlad came out Monday, listen to what I needed, planned out a course of action, gave me a quote which I accepted. Came out the next morning 1st thing and completed the job in no time........Very Pleased! Would also like to complement their communication. You will get texts on appts, progress and even GPS link showing your specialists eta to your location.

Abacus was wonderful. A/C wasn’t working and a tech responded quickly. Shortly after putting in the request for service, Zach C. called to let us know he was on the way. He gave top quality service with a smile. Quickly found the problem and got my A/C up and running. Best experience I have ever had with HVAC service. Thank you Zach!

Great experience with their plumber Julio Arenas. Prompt, professional, courteous, completely comfortable addressing the many questions and concerns I had, and had all the parts needed for my job in his service vehicle. Thank you Julio.

I did have a little difficulty with their scheduling system. Schedulers and dispatch were professional and courteous but didn’t seem to record my requested appointment window correctly. I had to rearrange my plans to meet Julio. I still give five stars for Julio’s exceptional service.

Technician came out to check our ac unit. We explained to him what we needed done to get it fixed we just wanted a quote for the job. The technician went ahead and "checked" without even adviceing us he was going to charge us $100 after words for doing us this "service". The tech started talking outrageous quotes( $3,000 up to $6,000). Not happy with this company they don't inform the customer on hidden fees, and they really up charge on their services

My pool equipment wasn't working correctly so I called Abacus because of their great rating. They came out and looked at the electrical panel and said that one of the outlets was shorting out the equipment. I believe they just went ahead and switched off that breaker (which controlled my pool light and my back fence outlet for my waterfall) so now I no longer have power to those areas. It was a very temporary fix that cost me $250 (which they call "troubleshooting") and took them about 15 minutes. I thought that was overpriced considering how much an electrician gets paid an hour so I'm giving them an average rating. Now I have to run an extension cord around my pool just to use my waterfall which is a huge eyesore, and seems to be putting strain on the pump. I'm happy they were able to get the equipment running again since that is more important, but not happy I'm out that much money for a temporary fix I probably could have eventually figured out myself. Especially since we had to take away power from other equipment just to make it work. Apparently the only way I can get power back to everything is to change out my electrical panel which they quoted $6000 to do. To be honest, with prices like this I'm surprised they are one of the most popular go to electricians in the area. After reading some of these reviews it sounds like they are better to call for plumbing issues, as a lot of people besides myself are complaining about overtly high electrical quotes, and total costs.
