Choice Air care replaced one of our HVAC systems. It was not expecting to replace after my AC stopped working. Chip promptly came in and inspected the system. He explained my options and gave some great advice. The replacement crew was professional and prompt. Chirs came in and did an inspection same day. Even though it was an unplanned expense, they made it as painless as possible. They earned a happy customer.

Problem: Two a/c with 2 different problems. One not cooling and one dripping to the overflow. Neither issue was fix on the first trip out but did return after I called again and all the issues seem to be ok now. Said their work was guarantee and that there was no charge to resolve the issues. Very happy that they did stand behind their work.

UPDATED REVIEW: Choice Air eventually came through with a small refund check to try to make things right for all that I went through (see my original review); however the check amount was less in value than the 10% coupon that they should have applied to my bill in the first place....plus it didn't offset any of the coolant charges. It was a gesture that they didnt have to do, so I bumped up by rating from 2 stars up to 3 stars.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: As a consumer, I feel somewhat screwed over and taken advantage of because I was in need for my home to cool down due to one of my AC Evaporator Coils failing during a hot Texas day last Friday. Just to highlight a couple of things, our Service Tech 1) proceeded with options without being forthcoming about services that have substantial cost, kept talking about fees but he couldn't really explain what they were, at one point he asked if I want to 'gamble' on an unknown that would happen the following day (which would affect how much I was going to be charged, which he didn't hold up to in the end), and also he refused to honor 2 coupons that is on Choice Air's website that were directly applicable to the invoice I received and services rendered.

The big problems I experienced:
1) The evaporator coil in my upstairs AC unit broke and was leaking out a ton of coolant late on a Fri and we couldn't get a new AC coil until Mon; so I texted the Tech on Sat asking if there is anything that can be done to "temporarily" provide the upstairs some relief so that the kids could sleep in their rooms; until he could check our manufacturer's warranty status and pick up a new Evaporator on Monday. The Tech came by Sat evening and said he added 4 lbs of coolant WITHOUT mentioning anything ahead of time that the coolant is massively expensive to consumers ($65/lb); which ended up being $260 that I didn't plan on seeing. Given that I had a huge leak, that coolant sprayed out of our system within a matter of 6-8 hours. The Tech should have been clear and up front with me about cost to give me an option in our given the situation; no way would I ever agree to spend $260 for what I see as temporary relief on 1 floor of my 2-story home for a couple days.

2) There is a line for $75 on my bill called "Warranty Repair / Service Call." Choice Air has a coupon on their website that says "Free Service Call with AC Repair." When I asked for this to be applied, the Service Tech declined and said what is listed on the invoice is not what it really is. Instead it is some sort of warranty fee associated with the part, but he couldn't explain anything beyond what that meant. As a consumer, things should be clear as to what I am shelling out money for.

3) There is a coupon on their website that says: "Special Offer: 10% off ANY Replacement AC System." Well I had this Choice Air Care replace a key part of my AC system, so it should apply right? The Tech also declined accepting this coupon because he says "this coupon only applies to parts...not labor or other costs;" however there is no disclaimer stated anywhere on the coupon! The Tech also said that the coupon is only for full AC system replacement; but again, the coupon does not state that. I replaced a key component of my AC system and the coupon clearly says "ANY." This coupon would have lowered my bill >$100.

Businesses like this should be built oh transparency, honesty, and trust with customers; especially to ensure future repeat business and result in positive word of mouth. I wrote this to be brutally honest about my recent experience as most positive reviews on here are from people that feel lucky to have quick relief from the heat after having their AC go out them during Texas heat. Choice Air does provide rapid response any time of the day or night, but I encourage consumers to ask questions upfront about costs and hidden fees. Also, I encourage Choice Air to be more transparent to your customers about costs prior to rendering ANY services and be less vague on your coupons; if you are not going to honor them as-is then don't offer them.

I am blown away with the service I received. Monday evening at 10:30pm, my HVAC stopped working. I was in a panic, temps are above 100 and I have 5 dogs in the house who were getting warm. I started searching, and decided to go with Choice Air Care as they are a local company and website said they do after hour service. Not only did they fit me in, even though the service tech had 2 other jobs still to get done that night - but they do not charge an additional after hours fee. Their moto is if you can fix it, do that - do not replace unit if not necessary. So honest and fair with pricing (Competitive with market). Thank you so much!! I am switching my bi-annual service to them as well.

I called Choice Air this past week because my heater quit working and it was showing 54 degrees inside. I spoke with Chris to tell him what it was doing and he came out same day. He had it back up and running less than 15 minutes after arrival. I will definitely use them in the future and really appreciate the service.

They're always accessible and if something ever doesn't make sense, the owner gets in his truck and drives over to help make sure everything is going right.

They were professional and knowledgeable and the new system works so much better than the old one. Plus, we got several quotes and their price was more than fair. Can't recommend highly enough.

Called Choice Air Care about 8 pm Wednesday night, Chris was here within 35 minutes and unit fixed within about 30 mins. Lady spoke with when called was wonderful. I was blubbering upset with young grandkids at house and temp within 20 minutes of realizing situation was already 85 degrees in house. She assured me will be ok and it quickly was. Chris did not have to take the job, he had already put in a 12 hour day, but he did instead of having me wait for another tech to be free to get here. Professional caring people. Reasonable cost, especially for coming at night. Gained a customer for life. Thank you, Thank you!

I highly recommend Choice Air Care for any A/C needs! They were prompt, friendly, and efficient. Chris told me everything that was wrong with my unit and didn't feed me any sales pitch. He was upfront with pricing and costs. Was in and out in under an hour and now my A/C works like a champ!
