Vanderford Air & Plumbing

We have used Vanderford multiple times for A/C service, we were always pleased with the techs and their professionalism. So when we saw that they were doing plumbing service also, we gave it a try and had them service our 10 year old water heaters. The tech showed up on time, was polite, and did a good job servicing our hot water heaters. Thank you for having honest, hard working, and a professional staff, yes I do recommend them.

I have used Vanderford many times in the past. They do very good work and are a bit pricey. Nevertheless, it is normally worth it.

Vanderford Air came out on 7/13/19 to look at our A/C because it wasn’t working. We hired them to replace the HVAC system. On 7/16/19 we also hired them to replace the furnace. The furnace was still working when we hired them initially but stopped working during the HVAC installation process. Less than one week later Vanderford came out again to service the unit as it was not working. They replaced the coil, free of charge. On 8/29/19 my husband signed a 10 year labor warranty agreement, which we were credited (on the invoice from 7/16/19 there is a warranty charge and a warranty credit for the exact same amount). In the fine print, this warranty agreement is void if the unit is not “regularly maintained by the customer per the manufacturer’s recommended maintenance schedule.” We had the recommended scheduled maintenance performed by Vanderford twice. They did not charge us for the maintenance these two times, we only paid for a new air filter once ($45). At the next maintenance time they quoted us a $200 fee, which we declined. We haven’t had any issues with our unit until last week (on 9/19/22) when it stopped working again. We hired someone besides Vanderford to do the work since our warranty was void from not continuing to have them do the maintenance. He replaced the motor on the outdoor unit fan. The unit works well again. Our opinion is that Vanderford could have done a better job communicating up front what we could expect to pay for the maintenance in order to maintain the warranty. In our opinion, the installation process could have gone smoother as well. We will not be using this company for any work in the future.

I will let you be the judge. VANDERFORD found a leaking coil on the outdide unit on a 6 year old system. To order the warranty coil plus install plus freon, I was quoted approximately $2800. I was quote $950 and $785 by two other companies. I asked the tech the cost of the freon and advised it was $95 per pound. I stated that was very high and his response was "when was the last time your bought freon". I considered this comment unprofessional as I had already check two vendors and there range was 40 to 52 per pound. He further suggested to replace the outside unit for $5800 to reset the warranty. This was the outside unit only. I had a whole 4 ton system installed including the inside inside system with heater for 5700 last weekend at a second home. Based on the above, I hope you make an informed decision before choosing Vanderford Air. In my opinion, it is all about the commission. A 2000 difference for replacement of a warranty part should help your decision. Too say the least, I will not be a future customer.

This guy caught an issue with my heater that other technicians overlooked. My bill has been $425 for the past 2 winters & this guy corrected the problem with heat strips when others could not!!!

I was able to get a same day appointment for leak detection. The plumber who came out, Phillip, was knowledgeable, professional and thorough. I will
definitely call them again if I have another problem.
