A while back my HVAC unit failed and I was desperate to find someone to make repairs as the weather was getting colder. I found Coastal in the phone book. Their ad was informative and professional so I gave them a call. Was I glad I did! They came immediately, quickly diagnosed the problem and explained it to me in an easy to understand manner. They presented me with all available options, presenting the pros and cons of each. The result was not only that I got my heat back, but a more efficient and reliable system that came in under budget. I was educated in the trades back in a time when craftsmanship was important. I saw those same traits in Coastal. I will, and have, use them again and gladly recommend them to others.
Coastal completely replaced the air handler, heat pump and all of the downstairs ductwork. They sealed the boots in the attic, blew out a clogged drip line, replace the upper unit pan and installed a new thermostat. Tommy, John and Blake were awesome to work with! Everything g is immaculate! Dale gave us incredible pricing on the entire job, Trane equipment is superb! We interviewed five companies. Tommy was by far the most knowledgeable and had the best recommendations. We will breathe clean air AND save money and be more energy efficient!
Bill was the technician who worked on my unit. He called prior to coming and was prompt. This was a service for the spring season and Bill was very thorough. I asked him about specific issues and he was knowledgeable, provided solutions and made suggestions. I hope when I use Coastal Solutions again for servicing that I am fortunate enough to have Bill or someone as qualified to work on the unit.
In January of this year, my air conditioner unit suffered a catastrophic failure during a freak snow storm here in South Carolina necessitating the need for a replacement. I contacted Coastal Air Solutions and Dale came to my home to survey it's size, layout, etc in order to provide me with possible solutions. He gave me estimates for 3 different compressor/air handler units and I chose the "cadillac" model - 4 speed compressor with programmable thermostat and an additional return vent. Within a day or two of the down selection a team of young men showed up for the installation. Astonishingly, the team lead introduced himself AND the other 3 members of the crew. They put on booties for floor protection, I showed them where everything was, and they set out to work. Within a few hours, the install, testing, and cleanup was complete. The lead then proceeded to explain to me how the unit worked, operation and programming of the thermostat, and other pertinent information related to the new unit.
Since the unit has been installed I have been nothing short of amazed at the efficiency of this unit AND the reduced consumption of electricity as reflected on my electricity bill.
Due to my concern about the possibility of Russian hacking I was hesitant to install and use the phone app which allows for remote operation, adjustment, and programming of the unit. Although I am not an IT professional, I was able to easily download, set up, and use the app to program and control the a.c. unit. AND, no hacking that I've been able to detect has occured.
So, being a retired Marine, I am used to dealing in "bottom lines." And, here is the bottom line:
Installation - This team of young professionals are courteous, informative, and efficient. They get in and get out in a timely manner. The only downside is that I literally had to just about force them to share some of the pizza that I had left over from Super Bowl Sunday. Rating: A+
Sales - Although Dale is a Clemson Tiger fan, he didn't show any animosity toward me (South Carolina Gamecock fan) when he came to look at my home and give me options and proposals for the new unit. He is knowledgeable and professional and once my selection was made gave me a thorough explanation of what to expect when the installation team made their appearance. Rating: A+
Service - I have had a couple of issues with the drain line on my unit, but this is because they reused the line that was attached to the old unit. Because of the extremely hot and humid weather here in South Click, the lines are susceptible to mold formation which can cause the line to clog and shut the unit down. However, upon discovery of a problem, when I have called for service they have sent a technician out promptly. Additionally, they came out this week (01Aug2018) to follow up and inspect the line, replace the "P" trap, and ensure that there were no other problems. Rating: A+
Intangibles - The installation crew is meticulous and conscious of keeping things clean. They explained to me what they were doing and how they were going to accomplish things. They are cohesive, courteous, and work well together. Their focus on customer service is second to none Rating: A++
Was I pleased with Coastal? Oh, yeah. Am I afraid to look at my electricity bill now? Absolutely not. Would I recommend Coastal Air Solutions to anyone with a need for a new unit? Positively.
I had called this company this morning to see if someone could come out, they had someone planning to come out around 1430, he should up an hour earlier, Thank god! He was very professional and got the job done! So glad to have our AC fixed! Great company would definitely recommend!
I chose Coastal Air Solutions because they care about their customers. They were there for my family and I when no other company could give us two seconds of their time. My unit was vandalized and with a holiday and health issues they made a new unit happen for my family in a matter of 2 days. I couldn't ask for a better company or better customer service. Thank you
Prior to CAS coming out, I had another company (sent by my home warranty) come out and they did not fix the problem (house was not cooling). Chris arrived and read what the other company wrote (which wasn't much), did a routine check on everything and discovered I have a freon leak yet still went through everything else to ensure that was the only issue. Chris sat down with me to discuss some options (in detail mind you) and gave me his honest opinion on what he would do. After much discussion and deliberation, my boyfriend and I decided to go with his suggestion and purchase a new HVAC system. Since it was going to be a little bit of time before install, CAS provide us with not one BUT TWO portable AC units! I'll never go through my home warranty again when it comes to my AC. Coastal Air Solutions has proven to me they are the best...at customer service, and customer care. THANKS CHRIS!!

I called this morning to see if someone could come and help us with a unit that had just been installed by someone else. They were here by noon. And had it fixed fast and efficiently. It was a minor problem. Whereas the company who was out here before said it was a major problem and it was going to cost me $900 to fix. Coastal Heating and Air came out and was honest and truthful with me and it did not cost me anywhere near the $900 quote that I received from a different company.
The folks at Coastal Air Solutions are always courteous and professional. They explain what the problem is and what needs to be done to resolve the issue. They have always responded even in after hours situations. I have used every HVAC company in the Moncks Corner area and Coastal is the Best, hands down. We will be buying our replacement HVAC system from Rob as he always steers us straight!
