I have been using Jeff, Jason, and their team since opening my catering & cafe business back in October. They have been instrumental in the opening and operation of my business. I have a lot of refrigeration and freezers here and the guys keep me up and running. Whether it be routine maintenance or a last minute emergency, you can count on them to come through. I wouldn't be able to do what I do without them!

Called a few companies just to see if they would repair this old 90's commercial unit since not a lot of companies would even touch it. I explained to them that I already had a tech come out and give me an estimate. I called just to get some information to see if they could fill the unit with some refrigerant and how much it would cost to do so. They gave me a price over the phone and I told them I would talk it over with the owner and call them back. They quickly called my receptionist back and told her they would give me a deal for 140$ instead of 200$ if I would go with them. I was planning on calling them back the next day since I knew I wanted to speak with a few more companies / technicians before going with them. The technician just shows up the next day without any conformation or a call beforehand. Unforchaently I wasn't there to be able to say anything so he went ahead and starting diagnosing something that I already knew was wrong.

Be careful of this company they just want your money. All small businesses are trying to make a living including ours but, that's not the way to make a living was very unprofessional. Hopefully someone else will read the reviews and not make the same mistake.

I’ve been using their services for years, usually for minor repairs and annual maintenance. They don’t price gouge and they will work until the job is done correctly. They just finished work on my system and the price had to change because the work ended up being more extensive than they realized when they gave the initial estimate (it was converting from a steam boiler to a hot water boiler), but they were willing to work with me on a payment plan to get my heat on and it’s working great now.

The crew did a fantastic job replacing some faulty ducts in my home to greatly improve our air quality. They explained what was happening, got the work done promptly and left the area cleaner than it was before! Highly recommended!

Jeff came out to my house when I was in a pinch on the hottest day of the year. He quickly assessed my thermostat and AC unit to identify the problem. He was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to explain the entire process to me. He resolved the issue within a short period of time and had my AC back up and running in no time. He took the time to ensure the job was done correctly the first time. Extremely happy with the service provided and pricing was extremely competitive.

Vick was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was also very efficient in getting my AC up and running without charging me an arm and a leg! I've been in situations where I felt as though I may have been being taken advantage of as a woman that doesn't know much about mechanics and what not. But with Mechanical Monster I felt very secure in getting excellent service at a fair price. I highly recommend this company.

Called for an estimate and staff, including Jeff, were extremely responsive. The appointment was set up, with great notifications in email, and on conclusion of the appointment, an estimate came very quickly in email. Great price and wonderful service and follow up! The average HVAC company is the total opposite (don't return calls, dont show up for appointments, answer calls while working on a job as opposed to a centralized scheduling office, etc).

[1/9/2021] Short story: One year guarantee was not as promised, but the owner did try to make it right by finally giving me a correct diagnosis of what should have been a simple issue. I will not be using this company again. I appreciate the owner standing up for the work, but feel that I did not get the services promised efficiently and fairly: diagnoses and guarantee.

Before I begin, I want to note that the owner and technicians were respectful, professional, and as informative as they could be. The technicians were timely. The owner was not.

Long story: I was having issues with our furnace turning on. This company had good reviews so I called them. For 99$, they came out and performed a tune-up and inspection on our furnace, and tuned some parameters that had been incorrectly set when installed about a decade ago. I also got a 1 year guarantee of the service. But they didn't actually fix the issue. In their defense, the issue was intermittent and could not be reproduced; In every visit, by the time they came the furnace was working. They left. A week later the furnace stopped working. They came again, but once more the furnace had repaired itself. They did not charge me, but also did not diagnose. They asked me to contact them the next time it failed.
Fast forward to next winter. The furnace fails again. I investigated myself with some YouTube videos using the given error code, and strongly suspected the inducer blower was failing. As discussed I contacted them. They come out, after the furnace fixed itself again. I showed the tech a recording of the failure and explained my suspicion. The technician was still mystified. They could not diagnose the issue, and I was charged ~85$. At this point I'd spent close to 200$, gotten a probably needed tune up, but still had an identically malfunctioning furnace.
I called the owner to object to the fee. I should have been under the guarantee from the very first service. The original problem was never fixed. The owner refused to give me a refund but offered to personally inspect the furnace for free "since we had just been there". The owner came (with very misleading arrival times I might add), inspected the furnace (which was again working), and told me the part that I HAD SUGGESTED AS FAILING was the issue. I was not charged.
So essentially I paid 200$ for a tune up. The part that failed was the inducer motor. This should have been a very easy diagnosis. Myself, a layman, figured it out. The repair for the part would have been >700$--about the same as other companies. I replaced the part myself for 240$ and 60 minutes of time (I am not a handy person).
Solving the issue took 4 visits, 3 from a tech and one last one from the owner. I was charged for 2 visits. I understand that this is a small company struggling through the pandemic, but I expected more than I got from the guarantee.

[EDIT 4/4/2021]: Today, the owner has responded that the service contract covered the visit. While it covered the first follow up visit, it did not cover the third, which was within a year. The owner also claimed that I did not follow recommendations. There were no specific recommendations given. They said to call if the issue repeated itself; I did call them, and was charged for the subsequent (ineffective) visit.
[EDIT 4/10/2021] Owners response was removed.

Called from home advisor bc My heater wasn’t turning on. They came out same day, had the parts it needed and everything worked great. I actually have them coming out again to install a new age wireless thermostat. Very happy with them would recommend.
