The system that was in the house we bought was old and inefficient. Specialty H&C gave us a quote that was good, and we had the entire system changed over to a hybrid heat pump system with the newest type of controls and filtration available. So far it has been fantastic. So much different (and better) that the old "on and off" systems we were used to. Had one component fail right after install, and Specialty was very responsive and took care of the problem immediately. Very impressed and will use them again.

First came out for a low Freon level in one of the A/C systems, and after extensive testing, that lasted longer than what I was paying for, it was determined it likely was coolant theft rather than a leak of any sort. Refilled the system, after which it worked perfectly all summer.

Just got the fall furnace tune-up that is one of the two visits permitted under my maintenance agreement. Very professional. Very thorough. Excellent service, coming from someone who actually studied HVAC way back when.

In general. my experience has been good. The service people have done an excellent job and explained any issues to me.

Service is pricey, but in line with other HVAC companies.

Tony was very personable and answered all of my concerns.

The technician was great but the overall value for the work done in my opinion way over priced. I will look to contact other companies for quotes.

Recently had Specialty come out to do some duct cleaning and sealing some leaks in the system with the Aeroseal thingy. Josh and Veronica were the team that came out both days, and I couldn't have been more impressed. They were very respectful of my house, they communicated very well, they were very organized with everything they were doing, and they put everything back together right the first time (not so much as a screw out of place :-). I think the most impressive thing is how willing and able they were to maintain efficiency while working around the whims of a teething 10 month old's nap schedule. As someone who values every minute of sleep my kid gets, their willingness to start in probably odd places to try and protect that sleep window is something I can't help but to highlight.

The duct cleaning itself went well, apparently the construction crew 20+ years ago or someone living in the house since had been using some of the vents as a trash can, otherwise just a couple decades of dust to pull out. The Aeroseal thing was a game-changer. There was definitely a faint smell of Elmer's glue during the process and for a short while afterwards, but the change I noticed was pretty much immediate. The house now heats faster than it ever had before and it doesn't seem to blow ice cold for ~20 seconds before the heat gets to me (instead it kinda blows cool for a few seconds before the heat kicks in). The report out you get showed that initially I'd been leaking about half of the air I was heating before it made it to a space where a person could feel it, now that's down to about 4%, which is just mind blowing to me.

Overall, A very positive process. My experience with the company from the sales guy (Nic) down to the crew doing the work (Josh and Veronica) has been very pleasant and characterized by a detail-oriented approach that involves listening to what I'm asking for, guiding me towards a path that will achieve those results, and knocking it out of the park with the execution of the plan. Wish there was a sixth star I could give.

I have regular maintenance from Specialty Heating and Cooling for my Furnace and AC. Just before my scheduled maintenance for the furnace, it started making noises. The technician came out and showed me that things were going very wrong and there were even melted parts! (old furnace) This was during a cold week and the furnace had to be shut down. Fortunately, they were able to install a new one in 3 days! Everyone was terrific: the technician, the salesperson and the installers. The salesperson, who came the day after the technician, explained all of the options very thoroughly, The installers were terrific:on time, professional , very pleasant, and helpful as they explained the system and thermostat. It was a good experience.

I highly recommend using Specialty Heating & Cooling. Each time I have used them they have sent qualified and knowledgeable technicians.

The technician was very thorough and made sure everything is running right. Very helpful explanations of what he was doing and what I need to do for maintenance.
