Meredith was so knowledgeable and gave me a lot of great information that was helpful to know about my unit.
She was also kind and patient with my dogs who were up in her grill and considerate of the escape artist behaviors. Highly recommended her services.

Office contacted us a few days prior to confirm and day of tech called and gave us a very accurate arrival time. He was courteous and diagnosed the issue immediately and supplied a replacement part on the spot.

Very kind and energetic technician. Service was quick. Technician went over my extra options should I want to have those installed but I didn’t feel pressured into the options. Just kindly let me know what was available and what she would highly recommend.

Super shady. Wrongly red-tagged residential furnace due to technician error, created a hazardous condition, tried to hard-sell an unnecessary new furnace.

Had a Bryant gas furnace installed in 2012. That experience was great, no complaints at all. First ten+ years of maintenance also great.

Then came Nov 2022 when a technician came to perform routine annual maintenance. He said something was wrong with a part that couldn't be replaced, the furnace was emitting dangerously high levels of carbon monoxide, and had to be immediately shut off. On the first cold day of the season. Said my only option was to replace the entire system.

The technician mentioned a known problem with the secondary heat exchangers on this model of gas furnace failing, that as a result of a class action lawsuit Bryant did offer a significant rebate on a new gas furnace. He seemed genuinely apologetic for being "legally obligated" (his words) to turn off the furnace immediately. Charged my credit card for the "service call," and assured me that someone would email me details of what had failed, as well as an estimate and time frame for replacement.

Dear reader: it took multiple phone calls to get that email, and then it was only an invoice with no details. They were more than willing to schedule a consult for a new furnace, but unable to unwilling to explain what was wrong with my furnace beyond "it's dangerous and can't be used."

I did some research on the mentioned class action lawsuit related to the make and model of furnace in my home and learned that it was settled out of court in 2007 - long before Heat Relief installed the one in my home in 2012.

A sales consultant did eventually show up more than a week later while I was using space heaters to keep from freezing. Though it was below 66' in my home, he started visibly sweating when I pressed him to tell me exactly what was wrong with my furnace. After much hemming and hawing he said the secondary heat exchanger was cracked and corroded. He also said that a gas furnace should only be expected to last about 10 years. I guess I look like an easy mark who can't do research? I pointed out some round, obviously freshly drilled holes in the gas exhaust pipe and asked if maybe those should be covered over. He immediately bent over backwards to find some mastic tape and cover the holes that would have allowed exhaust from the furnace to flow freely into my home.

Weeks later (everyone was super busy due to the cold snap), I was able to get technicians from two less shady companies to come out and evaluate my furnace. Technicians from Bull Mountain Heating and Specialty Heating both ran full diagnostics including checking CO levels in every room and each told me that the Secondary Heat Exchanger on my furnace was NOT cracked, NOT corroded, and NOT dangerous. They were both appalled that Heat Relief had not offered me so much as a space heater after shutting off my heat, and just left me in the cold. Literally.

Neither technician from the two reputable companies were able to explain why the Heat Relief technician would have been "legally obligated" to shut off my furnace. Moreover, they couldn't replicate any CO levels outside of the unit.

So either the Heat Relief technician was incompetent and negligent, drilled holes in the exhaust pipe for some legit reason, then forgot to cover them before taking internal CO readings, or he deliberately created holes in the exhaust pipe to force a high pressure sale.

To sum up: a technician from Heat Relief created a CO leak by drilling holes in the exhaust pipe, misdiagnosed the problem as a faulty secondary heat exchanger, made the situation dangerous to everyone in my home by not sealing the holes after performing his work, turned off my furnace, deprived me of heat in my home, failed to provide me any alternative heating options (like a space heater), almost scared me into purchasing an expensive and unnecessary new furnace, and caused many a cold and sleepless night fretting about a problem that didn't actually exist.

We were hearing a strange noise from our heat pump and Chris came out to troubleshoot. Turns out it’s a normal noise! He tested everything to make sure it’s all running correctly. He even recreated the noise and explained what it was, etc. Very friendly, courteous and efficient.
