Dowd Heat and Air

They have installed two units for me recently and everything went very well. Received good advise, service was on time and complete, follow up calls (only one) were handled quickly. Would recommend to anyone.

When my ac went out, I got estimates from several companies. Dowd recommended just replacing the coil and were cheaper than other places as well. Techs were quick and professional and my ac is working fine.

I have to give Terry kudos for integrity and having a competitive quote. His technicians were prompt and courteous and kept me up informed on where they were at in the installation. I did have a couple of issues that popped up after the install in that I realized the coaxial cable supplying my internet had been cut which took a couple of days to troubleshoot and isolate the problem. Also, not a big deal but we had a cold front come through requiring us to switch back to the furnace which would not work. Took me a little while to find that the gas had been turned off to install a new coil but had not been turned back on. Not a major deal but I would have given a 5 star rating if those issues had not come up.

Overall I would recommend Dowd Heat and Air to anyone that asked and once again I can't stress enough in Terry Dowd's integrity in the quote process.

I have a 5 ton upstairs AC. For 15 years it has failed to cool the house below 80-something degrees in summer. Technicians and salesmen from companies big and small have examined it and, in one case, added major duct work to it. Nothing worked. I was quoted $11k to replace it by one large outfit. I was also quoted $4k to install an expanded condenser line, despite the current one matching the manufacturer's spec.

Dowd sent out technicians, not a salesman. They diagnosed (1) low freon, (2) constricted return air ducts, limiting airflow and (3) an 18-inch plenum completely open to the attic at one end because it had been "sealed" with a cardboard sheet 20 years ago.

For a modest cost, Dowd repaired and modified the ductwork, and added freon.

Oh, and they gave me a convincing replacement quote for less than 1/2 of the competition, once the present system really wears out.

The gentlemen that came out to replace an a/c unit were on time, professional, and held themselves to the highest of standard. They did not leave until everything was done, and done right! This meant having to fix issues that were unfortunately done improperly by other repair services. They were insistent on making sure everything was done properly, at no additional cost, so my family would be safe. I am very thankful for them.

Thank you Terry for the amazing job you did on my ac unit. My unit wasn't working and I was told by someone else that I needed a more pricey service than what was required.
