Just want to raise a flag to especially Senior Citizens and/or those who take care of them. My father is 90 and my mother 86. They have lived West of Bowling Green in the same home for 50 years. In January of 2022 their furnace died and they had to make a quick decision to hire Tin Man Heating and Cooling to replace their furnace. The cost was over $6,000 which should have included Performance and safety testing.
They joined the Membership Program (which I assume Costs). My mother said she had noticed warm floors during the winter and thought there was some duct leakage under the house. Tin Man came out August 17th to do a 6 month check and mom asked him to look at the duct under the house. He checked and said there were several places that the duct work had come apart. He said it would take several hours and two men to repair @ $731 and that is with $81 discount for Membership program. Mom called me while he was there and I live out of state. I talked with the repairman over the phone and he told me the same thing. I asked if he was repairing with Duckboard, flex or metal. He said no parts were required it was just existing duct board that needed retaped. I knew it needed to be repaired so I told her since they were there to go ahead.
Later she called and said the repair man could not find a second guy so went under the house and it took him 1 and ½ hours with just one man. They had pictures of before and after. She paid him but felt the cost was very high. The next day she said she did not sleep well because of the cost so she called Tin Man but they just told her that was the cost. I called Tin Man on August 22 and went over the events and said I also felt the cost was high. I said with maybe $20 in tape, 1 ½ hours at $100 and hour and it was not even a service call as it was part of the Membership Program. And this problem should have been picked up by a flow check after the New furnace was installed in January. Even $431 would be high considering everything but I would not have said anything. They sent me a copy of the invoice and the pictures. Looked like from the pictures there were two, maybe thee areas of repair.
Tin Man said this was considered a H06A Band-aid repair and did not go by hours. I said I hopped it was more than a band-aid repair but it only came with a 30 day limited warranty. You would think they trusted their $731 repair more than 30 Days. The lady who answered the phone got with the owner and he told her to refund $100 to my parents. That was finally something but I feel even $631 was an over charge.

Tin Man Heating and Cooling provided an excellent overall experience from the beginning to the end.

Nikki, one of Tin Man's comfort advisors, made herself available on a Sunday afternoon to come to my house to do a heating needs assessment survey. After determining what my needs were, she explained everything in a very easy to understand way. I did not feel pressured at all during this consultation. Not only did she have products in stock, she was able to get my installation scheduled for just a few days out, whereas other companies were unable to schedule for 2-3 weeks!

On the day of the installation, the techs called, and subsequently arrived on time, in fact even a little early. Both Mark and Logan were extremely professional and respectful as they worked to install my new furnace. They worked very diligently to remove the old system and had the new system replaced within a reasonable time frame. They made sure to explain my new equipment and didn't leave until they made sure it was all working properly.

I would definitely encourage using Tin Man if you ever need heating or cooling installation or service.

Lost heat on Saturday (of course). Received call immediately from Cole, who was very helpful. Nikki was at home first thing Monday to review options and worked with office to get us scheduled asap. Mark, the installer was very knowledgeable and answered all questions and explained every step of the install. Will definitely work with this company again.

Chasing Success

Columbia gas turned off our gas due to a gas leak. Called tin man and they were able to come out the next day. Aaron showed up first thing and had the issue solved and fixed within an hour. He answered all my questions and was very professional. Would highly recommend!

I called and they were able to send someone out within 4 hours when other places I had called told me they could not send someone out for two weeks. Alex called ahead of his arrival and then came and diagnosed the issue. He was very professional. Unfortunately for us, we will need to replace our AC unit. It was installed in 1994 so that was not a surprise to us. Alex got details and he was able to set me up with an appointment for a quote the next day. If we go with their quote I can update this review with the outcome.

Tin Man Installers and Tin Man Rep. Nikki were wonderful! We scheduled my 91 year old Father to have a new needed AC to be installed and it stopped working before installation date! They moved up the installation date to the very next morning and it works beautifully!

We have had issues with our AC unit for a couple of years. After trying several different companies and having no luck. We called Tinman and the receptionist knew about the type of AC was able to get a repairman out to diagnose the issue. And we got it fixed. They were able to work around our crazy schedules and did the work efficiently.
