The initial contact and scheduling was pretty bad. The office staff are neither helpful nor properly informed.the repairman, Craig, was wonderful! He made an extra effort to get our oven workout as quickly as possible, and knew exactly what was wrong and what was needed. Sadly, the office again was uninformed, and I had to call several times to get things straightened out. We will be sure to request Craig if we have to use this service again. My Home warranty service picks the company, and they were made aware of the problems.

I have no clue how good the technicians are because they didn't show up to fix my air conditioner. They were contacted Aug 3 through our home warranty company.
Advanced scheduled me for Aug 11 with a service window of 1-5. I took the day off work so when No one showed I called them they didnt call me at 4:15.
They were apologetic and said the tech was stuck at another job.
I get that things happen I expected them to say they would be out first thing in the morning, instead I was put on the bottom of their repair list and the soonest they could be out was the 18th of August.
They could possibly have great technicians but IMO very poorly run business

With the service fee 107.00 plus 214.00 for freon that's crazy. They won't repair until it leaks out 2 times in a year. I really think that's not right especially when you pay 72.00 a month, for years and never use the service. Just hopefully it makes it a few years before it leaks out again. I would like to add that my service technician was great. Thank you.

I am downgrading my original post of 3 years ago from 5 stars to 1 star. In the 5 years we had Advanced Appliance as our go-to technicians work on our 2 heat pumps and 2 water heaters, 1 part was replaced preemptively and we were charged an emergency service fee although the tech was on an annually scheduled service call. In October 2022 the office rescheduled 5 times with me personally (66F) for our annual checkup, with a no call/ no show from anyone in this business. AAS then made and cancelled a 6th appointment with my husband (67M). A technician did appear on the 7th appointment with a total of 15 minutes spent on testing our HVAC system. We are both very disappointed in AAS in Winston Salem. Totally unreliable in keeping appointments and charging unnecessary fees for "possible future failure" of HVAC parts.

A service request was sent by my Home Warranty to Advanced Appliance on October 28. They did not contacted me until I called them on Nov 2nd around 3:00 PM. Advanced appliance staff requested me to send them the request order again and I did it right away on Nov 2nd. At 4:45 PM on Nov 2nd they called me to schedule an appointment and because I did not pick up the phone, they cancelled my request both on their end and on my Home Warranty Service provider side, informing my Home Warranty that I have not been responding to their calls. Advance Appliance is terribly unorganized and unprofessional and I do not suggest you or your home warranty to reach out to them and waist your time. If you are using Home Warranty services, ask them to do not refer you to Advance Appliance and ask them to put them on their block list either.

The service reps were very knowledgeable and responsive. The only thing was the wait time between putting in the order for service and getting someone to come out (2 weeks) and finally repair (an additional 2 weeks), partly due to the home warranty through which we were working. Definitely knew their stuff though.

We thought the water heater had gone out; however, Advanced Appliance discovered the leak at our water heater was actually caused by a failed PRV (pressure relief valve) causing high pressure water to be forced from the meter through and out of our hot water heater. Advanced Appliance reacted quickly to our call and we received a service appointment almost immediately (the following morning). Because of their quick action, our home was spared thousands of dollars in damage to pipes and fixtures (specifically shower/tub valves) which may have also been blown due to the failed PRV. In the end, the PRV was replaced during the same (first) visit and within two days we had a new State brand water heater installed up to code for our home. We cannot thank our technician, Todd enough for the fantastic job he did installing the new PRV and our new hot water heater. We also appreciate Jack who worked behind the scenes at the office to ensure we were scheduled ASAP and to save us some money wherever he could. We are AHS home warranty members; therefore, working with a local company that's willing to advocate for homeowners and understands the hoops that must be jumped through to ensure AHS/other warranty companies received the necessary diagnosis, correct information and repair recommendations quickly makes all the difference!

I had a tech called Walter come to home. He caused the heating to lock out, then couldn’t fix it, got confrontational with me and then tried to charge me outlandish prices for replacing the thermostat, pipes etc etc.. In the end, he said he couldn’t fix it and left. All before Thanksgiving and with a pregnant wife. I ended up having to file a complaint with the company and the state. Please avoid this company.

The technician called before he came to my house and on time. Completed the repair job fast and no further issue as of today. Thank you.
