Seven years ago, Advanced replaced my water heater. This week their technician replaced thermostats in the heater. They got me on schedule and made repairs very quickly. I definitely would recommend them if you need service.

Tech quickly diagnosed the issue with our spare fridge/freezer, installed a part and it is now working properly again. He said to monitor it for a day or so and to call them if I have any further issues with it not working.

Very professional techs. Made me feel informed and involved. They repaired the heat pump and it seems OK. But, I will not know if the repair negatively affected my AC until summer. If a problem arises then I hope they will stand behind their work. I’m betting they will.

This company is the biggest joke and I have no idea why American Homeshield contracts with them. My washer went out on 12/25 with a same day claim filed, they couldn’t come out until 12/30 as it was their first available. Well the window for the technician to visit was from 8:30-5pm. Who do you expect to sit in their house an entire work day and wait on an appointment that you’re not paying them to wait for?
The technician finally shows up after 5pm and stays in my house for a grand total of 6 minutes. Not to mention he was rude and unhelpful. My late father owned an appliance company in VA for over 20 years, so I’m familiar with the jargon. He “couldn’t” drain my washer…he barely tried, so standing water is just SITTING in there (this is now day 11 with the water in there) stinking up the damn house. He says he’s putting in an order for a part the day of his visit (my sister was here during the visit as well)…that doesn’t happen til Tuesday 1/2. Then they call me on Tuesday 1/2 about the part order saying it was placed on Tuesday, NOT the Friday I was informed it would be placed and I made it clear that they needed to schedule me in advance of the delivery so the day of the repair could align to the part delivery, as I refused to wait ANOTHER 3-4 days for a simple repair. They failed to return my call to honor my request.
I’m done with Home Shield and this ridiculous company after this experience. Had this water not been sitting in my washer for nearly TWO WEEKS I could’ve purchased and had a new washer put in my house 24 hours after the first one stopped draining. This company is useless and their service levels suck.
Maybe if their technicians spent less time congregating at the Speedway on Yadkinville Rd to shoot the shit and have social hour, they could get to appointments in a timely manner.
