Brad was AMAZING!!! When our air conditioner stopped working last night, we were worried that it would be days before someone would be out to look at it. We woke up and the house was 10 degrees warmer than when we went to bed. We were told that someone would be out at noon, Brad called and asked if he could come earlier. He was masked, SUPER communicative, and professional. He not only solved the issue, but showed us how to fix it in the future and he cleaned our system. We are now sitting in a MUCH cooler house. Thanks Brad and the Hay’s team!!

I really wish I could have had the experience so many other users have had here. I got a few quotes and Hays was the nicest and seemed easiest to work with. I was wrong.

I should've figured it out when none of the features of the units they suggested were reviewed or explained with any detail. There was no analysis of the issues with a clear reason as to why the equipment they chose would work. Other companies ran down how the systems worked in detail. I just liked a family owned business and the good reviews here really made me feel good about the decision. I won't trust reviews on Google again. I didn't want to write a bad review because everyone has a bad day sometimes. But man these guys are consistently bad and I couldn't believe the good reviews here.

We had 2 systems installed (upstairs/downstairs), both identical. They started the upstairs system incorrectly and ruined the compressor on the upstairs unit. (I figured that out on my own.) The system wouldn't blow cold air. It took them 7 attempts to fix it. I had project managers come who couldn't read or understand thermostats, technicians that didn't know what they were doing, etc. I'd get someone to show up and they would suggest a different cause every time. I had to keep insisting something was wrong to get them to fix the actual problem. They finally replaced the compressor and I got the cold air I paid for. And I paid a lot for it. It took over a month to get our AC fixed. It was 80*+ inside for days.

Now it's Fall ... and the heater doesn't work (upstairs unit again). I call to get service, they give me a time to show up. That time comes and goes, I get a call that they can't make it (obviously). Here we go again with broken promises and a broken (brand new and expensive) heater. I hope they show up today. It'd be nice to have the house above 64 at night with a baby.

Overall I regret using Hay's. And now I'm stuck with this decision for years. I do suggest getting a new system in the Spring or Fall so if you do have problems, it's not so hot or cold that your house is unlivable.

For the price they charge it would be nice to feel they cared about people's time. Saying you will be there at 8:30 am and not showing up until after 12, then say they are going to lunch was very disrespectful. Our electrician took off of work just to have a day wasted. On the second day of their return and what we was told would be a 2 day job they left and didn't have the courtesy to tell us. That second day being a Friday we had to wait until Monday for them to return and still had to come back on Tuesday. We are not residential, we are a small local cafe and depend on every cent we make. We lost a lot of money on these days due to poor and lack of communication. When you are going to be late it would be nice to give a courtesy call. We had to call each time to see where and when they would be at our location. I even called on Saturday to see if they was coming since they left without saying anything on Friday, I was told they would call me back. I even had them repeat my number. That call back never happened. The new guy was the only one who showed he cared and said he was sorry. For over $7000 it looks like they would care more, at the end of the day they got their money and we lost money.

The Clock Depot

We are cooling about 4000 sq ft in a retail area ( The Clock Depot ) on Westgate Dr in Durham. One of our two units failed and I called Hayes to complete any repairs needed. They promptly scheduled an appt and I received a courtesy call 20 minutes before the appt. The Hayes technician (Anthony) was right on time and completed the repairs in less than an hour. He was very specific with the analysis and completed the work at a very reasonable price. I have three other properties in Durham and will always use Hayes ongoing. We received promptness, great work and honesty you do not see in most chain operations.

Brilliant choice! I hit the call button at 11am and discussed my A/C issues with Susan; who set the expectation that one of three technicians would be contacting me while on their way.

By 11:09 am, my tech, Anthony, had contacted me with a 5 minute eta. He and Susan were both very professional, courteous, and efficient. After a brief discussion, and inspection, the issues were confirmed and remedied.

Anthony continued on to his next stop half an hour ago, and it is now officially 3° cooler here. This was very important to me, as my wife suffers migraines from the heat. Especially while it's been too hot to sleep well. At this rate it should be very comfortable by the time she gets home. Thanks guys, Great Job!

Hay's has always taken great care of my system since the initial installation. My latest issue was a system going down in the upper 90's and they were prompt and Sean their technician was on point. Thanks for the care and quickness getting us back in the cool air.

I was having some problems with my heat pump not heating. The company that I was using had poor customer service and never fixed the issue. A friend of mine told me about Hay's Heating and Air in Hillsborough. I called that day and a technician came the same day. They were very informative about what was wrong, and what needed to be done, with a reasonable price. I would recommend Hay's Heating and Air to all my friends and family.

Service technician was very nice, professional, efficient and informative! Office staff were very helpful on the phone with scheduling and invoices. Our air conditioning stopped working mid-august and they were able to send someone out same day to get it back up and running!

Hay's Heating and Air Conditioning has done a great job for us for years. We've installed new systems with them including a recent system for our Sunroom. The staff were friendly and professional providing excellent service. I would highly recommend their services to friends and family. You cannot go wrong with Hay's.

Our company office just moved into a new condo and come to find the air conditioning was not in good shape. It was in the 90's for several days and we couldnt find anyone to help and then we called Hay's. They came out and were so pleasant and helpful and got us up and running. We would be in a very hot office without them and their courtesy was very much appreciated! I will definitely be calling them again!
