I called Hay's to diagnose the issues we were experiencing with our AC unit. Devan Phaneauf came out same-day. He was professional, knowledgeable, attentive, and willing to answer every question I threw at him. Devan opened every panel and deconstructed various parts of our HVAC system to identify any potential problems - more thorough than the two other companies I had come out in the past few months. Devan identified and fixed the issues we were experiencing within the afternoon for nearly 33% less than these other companies quoted me for. He also completed two other minor repairs, which he identified during his evaluation. I couldn't have asked for more. I will be calling Hay's again with any future HVAC issues, and they will be my first recommendation to anyone that asks.

We made a maintenance request through our rental property company - Hay's came out the same day (Friday afternoon) & replaced the motor in less than an hour. The maintenance person Anthony was friendly & gave us some money saving advice regarding our air filters. It was honestly the best maintenance experience I've had in 10 years as a renter. Cannot state enough how helpful Anthony was. Will recommend to Durham friends.

Two days ago my air conditioning unit broke. It is one of the hottest weeks we’ve had so far and I have two dogs and two cats at home who are burning up. I have been calling every heating and cooling place in the area to try and get my air conditioning unit fixed. I called Hays Because they had such great reviews. Imagine my dismay when I get a phone call this morning letting me know that they are not taking any new clients. What is this, a doctors office? How can you not be servicing the people in your area? I get that because this is likely a busy time of year most places are not going to be able to get me serviced in a quick timeframe, but I would never expect that the heating and cooling place would be so callous towards the general public as to say they are not accepting new clients. I cannot believe that they possibly have enough business that they cannot take the time to schedule in one person especially when it is the hottest time of the year. I also feel that this would have been best listed on their website rather than me wasting my time having to call and hoping that I can get an appointment scheduled. I cannot speak to the quality of their service as they will not service me, however based on this one interaction I can definitely say that even if they were taking new clients at this point I would not become one of them. Highly disappointed.

I have used them for years at my old house, and current. Over the years there have been moments. However, the final straw was when I had an appointment scheduled for a tune up and the tech called to leave me a vm stating he was on the way. It was one and a half hours later, but was fine since I was home anyways. He never showed up. I called in a few weeks later to reschedule and the receptionist never apologized for the job. In fact, there was a note stating I was not at home (I work from home). Regardless, she made me feel as though it was my fault. Zero apologies. On the call I decided to not reschedule and to give my money elsewhere as her response was unsettling. Very unprofessional.

I cannot say enough great things about this company. I called in the morning to have someone come out and look into the musty smell from our AC and they were at our house by 10am. The technician, Sean, was outstanding. We went with the service plan they offer where they come twice a year to inspect/service your system prepping for AC and Heat use. Bottom line, if you're looking for an affordable, friendly, and knowledgeable company to service your HVAC, call Hay's. We will be long time customers!

I have been a customer of Hay's since they installed my heating & air system in November 2016. Great system and great PM from their techs since then. But now they have exceeded my expectations. The day after the 8" snow fall, my 89 year old neighbor found herself without any source of heat when her system stopped working. Her company told her they could not get their trucks out and could not service her that day. I notified Hay's of the problem. Anthony responded within a few hours and fixed the problem. Thank you, Anthony. You represent Hay's well. Needless to say, my neighbor is switching her service to Hay's.

Reckless drivers. At 4pm on 10/3 truck 203 and another Hay's truck with a large utility trailer were literally racing each other up 15-501 through Chapel Hill, swerving through traffic going 65+ in a 45. I don't know who would think to operate marked company trucks like that, but I certainly wouldn't trust their services.

The people at Hay's are not only extremely competent, they are HONEST! They tell clients what they don't need, as well as what they do need, and work with folks to find options they can afford. This is very rare in the heating/AC business. I've been using Hay's for many years.

My husband and I have personally done business with Hay's for decades and when I had a situation with our AC's at my office during the first 90 degree days of the year, my husband asked Hay's to come. Despite being super busy, they worked us in, were at the office in less than 3 hours and had us running in a matter of hours. This included a lot of crawling in the attic and diagnosing problems. Our technician was knowledgeable and courteous and when he explained everything to our in house engineer, was found to be completely honest. This has always been my experience with the Hay family and I was glad to share it with my company. Hay will be coming back to diagnose the leaks we have in this huge system as soon as the rush of the season is over. You can't go wrong using Hay's HVAC. They are honest and have great values, both the company and personally as owners.
