Do NOT recommend! Sent out technician to work on our generator who had NO experience working on generators when that was the scheduled known task at hand. Had to send out second technician who also said he is unfamiliar with working with the generator and recommended someone else. Price quoted was $99 for first hour. Price charged magically changed to $99 per half hour. Poor business! They originally installed the generator about 2 years ago and we thought they would have done more professional business!
When we moved into our new home we discovered that our HVAC was not working. We contacted Roby Services and were immediately impressed by their quick response, knowledge and professionalism. Ultimately Anthony C. diagnosed the problem and installed some replatement parts. We now have a working HVAC unit thanks to the crew at Roby. 4 years ago Roby Installed my generator since then they have become my go to electrician. When they installed the generator they corrected some out of code wiring done by the pool contractor a few years earlier. It is good to know you can trust your electrician. I live in PA, and have a rental property in Charlotte. On the eve of a trip to be with my sister who was having surgery, I received a call from my tenants that a tree limb from the neighbor’s tree had ripped the power line and Verizon line from their house. Duke power removed the limb and reconnected to the pole, but to hook the line back up to the house was our responsibility. I called two electricians who could not help me, but the 2nd one suggested I call Roby. This was the best suggestion I could have received, and words will not be able to adequately express my appreciation and gratitude for their immediate response, kind concern for my and my tenants situation (who are elderly), and their incomparable professionalism. I dealt with several women on the phone, and all of them were excellent. I would like to send a special shout out to Sandy, however, who has risen to a level of tenaciousness and compassion that I only hope I will be able to emulate in my own customer service position at a plumbing company in PA. It is a hopeless feeling to be 500 miles away from a property and have an emergency such as this, and I have struggled over the years to find and keep a team of service people for electrical, plumbing, HVAC and handy man type jobs. You cannot imagine my joy in learning that Roby covers ALL of these needs, and I will no longer have to scramble when I have another emergency. To add a cherry on the top of this wonderful cake, Sandy even managed to whittle down my invoice by a nice amount, showing again the kind of empathy and consideration for the customer’s situation that anyone will be hard pressed to find in today’s “bottom line” world. Thank you Sandy, your whole office team, and your wonderful technicians. You have a loyal and forever customer in me.
The Tech was very good and professional. However your billing process does not seem fair. He was at my place for 30 minutes and you charged $99 for service call and then charged another $96 for work. I new the problem and told him what was wrong but needed an electrician to verify.
I cannot say enough about the EXCELLENT service we received from Roby on our HVAC system. This was easily the most positive experience I think we could’ve had under the circumstances. It may seem easy and convenient to call one of the big, mainstream, open until midnight HVAC companies, but don't! They are at the high end of the cost spectrum and trained to scare you into thinking you need to do more work on your systems than you actually do. Instead, do yourself a favor and call Roby - you won’t regret it!
Overall, Jeremy and Anthony from Roby did a great job explaining what was going on with our system, what actually needed to be repaired (and what didn’t) and all of the factors impacting the cost of the repair. After calling one of the mainstream repair shops and being quoted what seemed an excessive amount for the repair we needed (fan motor replacement) and pushed to replace a very expensive part that wasn’t even broken, we passed on the repair and called Roby upon recommendation from a close friend. They treated us with respect, provided lots of information and education, and performed the repair for $235 less (more than 25% less) than what we were quoted by the bigger, well known shop. They even went above and beyond by calling the AC manufacturer to see if the part we needed was under parts warranty - something separate from a home warranty that we had never heard of and was never mentioned as an option by the first repair shop! While this part was not under warranty, Roby found out that other, more expensive parts on our unit ARE still under warranty, which we would’ve never known had we not called Roby! They did this despite knowing a part warranty would’ve decreased their take home pay on the repair!
Ultimately, I would recommend Roby Services to any friend or family member in need of HVAC or plumbing services. They are standup, trustworthy folks who approach your repairs the same they would their own family members - you won’t be viewed only as a paycheck!
The service was perfect. Donald took his time and explained what he had done, why he did it, and how to avoid the problem in the future. He was responsive in setting the appointment, timely, and extremely professional (but also very personable). I recommend this service and you are lucky if you get Donald as your electricity progressional).
Top notch service. Michael really knows his stuff. Joshua as well. If electrical or plumbing work needed in future, I know who to call. 3:15PM Jaime Burdette was just here to make adjustment to sink and faucet he installed. Prompt response to my call. Another great tradesperson from Roby’s.
