First time home owner with a furnace and thermostat causing issues. Northstar (Correy) was great both visits, respectable while here, and solved the problems that popped up for a fair price. I will use them for any future work needed.
Was told when I initially got set up with a new furnace and A.C. unit. That i didn't have enough power coming from the electrical box, was told switching out the hot water heater will solve that issue...also had a home warranty that was told would be honored. Well a year later I sit with an A.C. unit, a furnace and a water heater. Plus 10 grand on a loan (the company wasnt registered at the time in my area for the warranty company) and now a nice Bill for North star coming out to say i need to upgrade my panel wasn't told prior that only the parts are under warranty not the service call...thanks i will never ever call you again. Nor will I ever refer you to anybody...i deal with inmates who are less shady...
We knew when purchasing this 70's split level in Esko that the entire HVAC system had to go. Original oil furnace, 20 year old water heater, trashed A/C. Travis and the guys did the works - super high efficiency furnace, 2 stage heat pump, extra filtration, air exchanger, UV light virus killer, thermostats, LP lines, everything. Hauled off all the old stuff too, including the oil tank. In just a day and a half. Payoff for everything will be in under 5 years. These aren't "handymen" winging it, I watched them in my basement adjust the operation of my system (furnace and heat pump communicating via Bluetooth, crazy) to get the best performance for the dimensions of my house with a diagnostic computer. Highly recommend, and I don't write reviews. *Travis even checked on our house over Thanksgiving weekend 5 days prior to installing the new HVAC to make sure we still had heat while we were 600 miles away. Really? Now, THAT'S customer service Holmes.
I am so happy with this company. My furnace quit in the middle of the night and when I called them this morning I told them I was 80 years old and they sent someone over so quickly. Everyone is so friendly from the girl that answers the phone to the service tech Chuck who came and fixed my furnace. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
Can't recommend them enough. Travis and his crew did a fantastic job of replacing a non working boiler. Very responsive and helpful. Replacing an unexpected broken-down boiler is never fun but Northstar made it a much less painful experience.
Northstar Heating & Cooling sold and installed my mini-split this summer. I asked about the cooling capacity because I was worried it would not cool the full house. I was told it definitely would. But, it definitely does not. It was an expensive unit ($3500) for a small ranch home, it doesn't look very nice on the wall, and it's noisy too. I feel that the company was not honest with me about this unit's ability to cool. It's a tough spot because I spent a lot money but my house only gets cool in the living room. With hindsight, I wish that I had gone with central air conditioning.
I have had Northstar help me out a few times and each time they are great! Very professional on time and helpful! Great prices honest and fair. I will hire them again to do my boiler and water heater upgrade soon.
Worst service I have ever experienced from a furnace company. They stopped by and partially completed their work. I was told they would return and finish with the correct part the next week, and they did not. I have called over a dozen times, talking with the technician and he still has not returned. I have also called the manager and he does not answer his phone or return calls ( it has been 6 weeks now...). The initial technician was very green and could not answer my questions on a simple boiler system. I will never use again.
Update: After 6 weeks, the owner did get in contact with me. The technician that initially serviced our boiler was let go, and a senior technician completed the work, answered all questions, and stayed until we were satisfied with operation of the boiler. They also gave us a warranty and discounted any future work.
My furnace finally bit the dust and NorthStar was able to replace the unit same day. They are without a question a premium servicer. Their staff are courteous and their work second to none. I won’t look any further for any hvac needs. Don’t hesitate to call these guys first!
Professional, honest, and efficient!! We cant say enough amazing things about NorthStar Heating and Cooling. Our furnace was "red tagged" due to a cracked air exchange and within just a few days we had a new furnace. THANK YOU THANK YOU to the whole crew!!!
