Glen from Carlson Duluth has been the plumber for our restaurant for over 20 years. He's the best! Very knowledgeable and professional. He always fixes what needs to be fixed, and does it economically.

They replaced our lead service line and later our hot water heater.

The lead service line replacement in 2018 was super smooth and the price was competitive. They sorted out all the permits and inspections and did it right for the next 100 years.

In 2021, the chimney liner collapsed that was venting our boiler and hot water heater. They figured out how to power vent the existing (30 year old) boiler out the basement wall and install a indirect hot water heater, which saved us money on a chimney liner repair or boiler replacement. They also replaced the old water pump and added a bunch of shutoff valves so that maintenance is dead simple. The new setup is awesome.

Overall the communication and quality of work was disappointing — based on that the cost was a bit more than other places.

I feel the overall communication from the company and person working on my house was poor. Then I asked to get the outdoor hose working, it was connected to the existing plumbing which leaked like crazy, clearly did not test once it was hooked up. I had to have another company come to complete the work. For the cost, the quality did not match.

If I could score less than a zero..I would. I initially hired this company to fix my tankless water heater because it was making a very loud noise and according to the professionals on YouTube, this issue needs immediate fixing. Therefore when the technician arrived I specifically told him that I wanted the noise to be fixed because when I moved in the heater was whisper quiet. However when he finished the noise had NOT subsided. I called the manager who clearly said to me he would have the technician contact me. That NEVER happened. And when I tried to contact the manager again, HE, never responded. When he finally did respond he was very unprofessional and provided poor customer service. I will NEVER use this company again.. beware to others..

As a Lennox Representatve and Dealer, Carlson sent a young service person out to diagnose my Lennox Heating/Cooling system. Not working. He checked for about 1 hours. Finally told us he couldnt find the problem and left. Still knowing it was not not working. SERVICE charge was $350.00. Called Carlson several time, even talking to the company president. No help. His final respons was, "We dont service your area."

Carlson fixed a burst pipe for us. Their communication was prompt and their technicians explained the whole process and did an excellent job. I'll be recommending them to anyone that needs a plumber

Excellent service, highly recommend! I needed a water heater replaced and they did phenomenal job. The technician, Carl, was very knowledgeable and professional. Our old water heater was a weird size they don’t make anymore. Carl found a new unit with slightly different dimensions and he had no trouble installing it. I got a quote from another company first and they would’ve been much more expensive and couldn’t help with the size issue. It was such a relief working with Carlson Duluth and I will definitely work with them going forward. Truly the best service!

Overall excellent service; TJ was amazing; he looked over our boiler and pipes, explained what everything was, how it operated, then went over his checklist and explained what needed to be repaired, why it needed to be repaired, and what we could expect with the repairs
Completed several minor repairs on the whole system quickly and efficiently, including cutting and refitting a leaking pipe, making it like new again, then bleeding the entire system and all radiators after a complete flush and fill
Total bill was less than expected for the level of service provided, and the workmanship was spectacular
Would absolutely recommend TJ to perform service work again

I can’t say enough poor things about this business. They were called to give an assessment of possible needed repairs to my boiler. The possible replacement parts needed to be ordered and no service was performed at that time. I was promptly sent a bill of $165 for services not performed and spoke with them multiple times to correct the bill to a rate more reflective of the non-service. After more promises of correction (including the original tech (TJ) coming back out to confirm he had performed no service because he “forgot” what it was involving) and another promise of amended charges... I received via mail a collection agency inquiry involving the ORIGINAL charges! I would rather ask the mailman to repair my boiler than ever have this business in my home again.

We have worked with Carlson Duluth several times and have always had an excellent experience. They are timely, professional, and install high quality furnaces. Their quotes are detailed and complete, so I know exactly what I am getting. Most recently, they acted fast to get out to us when a furnace failed ahead of a dangerously cold snap.
