The scheduling for the HVAC system maintenance and the actual appointment was very easy. Actually it was one of the most efficient I've experienced of any company. The technician was prompt in any reminders or communication prior to that was flawless. The technician took photos of each section of the three systems I have before and after the service. Many thanks to the entire Boston Standard team. We’ve worked with Boston Standard for the past three years and have always been satisfied with their service. And, a couple of weeks ago, our ongoing relationship with Boston Standard paid off in a huge way.
Our boiler died, so we had no hot water or heat – in the dead of winter. We have two children under two, so we were eager to figure out a solution as soon as possible.
Within 48 hours, we had a new boiler and everything was back to normal.
Our gratitude goes out to the entire Boston Standard team – Anthony Prosper, who came out to do annual maintenance on our boiler in early February and told us that it was on its last legs (so its demise wasn’t such a huge shock); Joe Blomquist, who came out and did his best to get things running again, but ultimately made the decision that it was beyond repair; Brian Sommers, who upon receiving a call from Joe, immediately drove out to our home on a Friday night, and provided some reasonable options for a quick replacement; and Bill Berberan, who spent an entire Saturday with Brian installing the new boiler.
I would be remiss if I didn’t recognize the expert service that we’ve received over the years, especially that from Kai Wilkinson. It’s because of this service that we trusted Boston Standard to do a great job on such an important project.

Not only was he on time, but he went above and beyond on our service and took the time to show me pictures of the before and after and really explain what he did and how we can better care for our HVAC system. 10/10 service, truly thrilled with my experience!!

My AC stopped blowing cold air. I called and left message to have someone check it out. Next day they called to say a tech could be here within the hour. He was. He checked the system, found the problem and fixed it.

Next time, I have to install ductless/ducted heat pumps for HVAC and water heaters, I will reach out to these guys (specifically, Renato, Artur, Ledi, and Gio). We spoke to four other contractors and these are the guys who actually followed through on their word to get us a quote. Once it got down to doing the work, they communicated clearly, were specific & transparent, showed up early or on-time, cleaned up every day, and managed their subs effectively. Their payment plans were courteous to say the least. These guys are what five stars actually look like.

Tried to hire a plumber to install a washer.
They never picked up the phone, had to message, they could not tell me how much it would cost to even estimate and give me a quote for the job.
First 15 min is $159, but after that, completely unknown, no rate given, what if it takes a plumber 20-30 minutes to review and give me a quote? Will i be charged another $159?
Other companies say, we come and give you are quote for certain price, if it takes longer to estimate we charge you with certain static rate. Predictable price.

Boston Standard Company parks their van on the sidewalk. This is illegal, dangerous, and disrespectful behavior. They prefer to destroy public infrastructure and force pedestrians to walk in the street, rather than walk 50 feet from a real parking space to their work site. If you don’t know how to park, you should not be driving. I would never invite these people into my home.
Edit: Their response below -- with no apology and no indication that they will make any changes in the future -- shows that they stand by this illegal, dangerous behavior. If this is how they park, just imagine the kinds of corner-cutting they are willing to do to your plumbing!

I had the pleasure of meeting Josh as I helped my son and daughter in law move. It was the hottest day during my trip. Josh was so professional, friendly and explained everything in detail!! And, he showed up as promised the next day and had the system running so we did not swelter during the final stage of moving!! 5 stars for this young man!!!!

Great experience with Boston Standard company. The technician arrived during the prescribed time. Technician Brian M was professional, installed faucet without any issue, cleaned work area up after finishing. All and all a very good experience.
