We spent months trying to find a company that would remove an ancient, broken, oil furnace and replace it with a central heat pump system. Most companies were unresponsive or unhelpful, and in some cases outright argumentative, refusing to give us a quote at all when we said we wanted to do a whole home heat pump conversion. From the moment we reached out to Boston Standard, everything was different. They understood that we needed a system in place before winter, developed options for various approaches we could take, coordinated and timed an install that included a replacement of our electrical panel, the addition of a new ducted air return, the installation of a whole home heat pump heat/ac system, and the installation of a third floor mini-split, and completed the work in a matter of days. For such an enormous project, there was almost no impact on our day-to-day, and any time there were small issues to discuss, the sales crew and on-site team were communicative, clear, and helpful. When we ran into difficulties with the Mass Save contractor, they helped reach out and expedite the work, and they coordinated/submitted all of the unwieldy paperwork for the rebates that are provided by MassSave. They also offered financing options and immediate cost savings for paying up front. Any work of this kind is going to be costly, but if you're going to pay for it, you want to know that the contractor understands how much you're investing, and is invested in making everything work for you. That's rare to find, and that's what we got with Boston Standard. True professionals.

I have a very difficult back flow valve that needs to be checked. Bill took the time to not only get to the valve, but to make sure that it was functioning properly. Getting to the valve required a lot of ingenuity and sweat equity. Most people would have not put in the persistence to get there. He also made sure that he had done the proper job in assessing the valve.

I had a great salesman, project manager, and professional technicians who gave me an above excellent HVAC steam boiler system and installation. In fact, I have to thank them for fitting us in a bind as we were without heat and with a newborn. However, the office cancelled our first appointment without communication, lost our payment check, and promised for a quote several times without follow up. If it wasn’t for these, i would be giving 5 stars if not 10 stars. They may be on the pricier side, but they do the job right and to code with professionals. Lastly, i give total props to the salesman. We were dead set on not picking Boston standard because the office cancelled our first appointment without notifying. However, the salesman impressed us, changed our minds on Boston standards hvac professionalism, and up-sale us by pointing out that our water heater was going out. I would like to thank him because he saved us from another headache and we really love the new equipment. Thank you Boston standard.

Came very quickly. In one visit, the technician wasn't able to service my unit but was very transparent and rescheduled the appointment in a few days. There were willing to fix my unit when other companies in the area weren't willing to look at it

Boston Standard is really easy to book (all or mostly online a via text), which I really appreciate. Bill was our plumber and he was great installing a difficult faucet, so I'd definitely recommend.

We’ve been thinking about replacing them for years and get literally a different story about them from everyone who comes to service them. Brian was so professional and explained everything clearly and practically in ways no one else has in 15 years of owning this house. I understand how my systems work more clearly.
