I was careless and allowed the tank to run out of oil and had to pay extra to have the tank primed. So be it. However, the technician was never told he needed to prime the tank, and left without completeting the job. I called back to explain what happened and Surner tells me they will be charging even extra to send an “expert” out to prime the tank. (The receptionist was extremely rude, mind you) Turns out the expert just needed to prime the tank. I wouldn’t wish the services of Surner on my worst enemy. Horrible business, worse service, go elsewhere.

Surner Heating has been excellent with which to do business. Their Service Technicians are prompt and courtesy.

Surner installed a hybrid heat pump/oil furnace for both cooling and heating for us over the summer, using our existing ductwork. The project was done in a timely and professional way, and the system works well. After the install was done, they also handled filing for the (hefty) rebates from Mass Save.

Ran out of oil over the weekend and called Monday morning seeing if they could deliver oil the same day. There was no problem with that and I had oil within 2 hours of the phone call. I called around before and no other place was offering to deliver same day. Very happy with my Surner Heating experience.

Horrible experience, THEY ARE NOT TRANSPARENT with billing. I was charged almost $500.00 for a service charge, they tripled the value of the piece that needed to be replaced and brush it off as a labor charge, traveling and experience.

WARNING: Contract with them at your own peril.

I was sheduled for an oil to propane conversion twice and canceled twice. If they can't show up for an estimate, how can I depend on a company like that for my heating.

We switched to Surner after our previous company couldn’t figure out why our furnace was blowing cold air. Ron came by yesterday and figured out what was wrong within five minutes and fixed the problem. We now have hot air, and couldn’t be happier that we made the switch.

When I had a pipe burst last winter, they sent someone right away, and they did a great job diagnosing and fixing the problem, which ended up being quite complex. The owner talked with me by phone several times. They are also great when I'm ordering oil and have routine problems.

Surner had not serviced my furnace before but they courteously added me to their service schedule, came on time the next week, technician Drew did a great job.

This is one of the oldest oil companies in the Amherst area. Their oil prices are not the lowest, but are on par with others in the area. The best aspect of doing business with them is the emergency service offered. We had a couple of times when the heat went off in cold weather. They responded within an hour even though it was after hours.
