After living in South FL my entire adult life, I moved back to the area this summer. I know basically how an oil furnace works, but I've never owned one. Despite some unkind reviews online, I decided to try Surner because I see their trucks in the neighborhood, and their price for oil on the Surner Discount website was unbeatable... So I took a chance... I called the office and a super-helpful lady explained the process and set me up.The very next day a rep showed up to inspect my tank so I could place an order online. Super responsive! Two days later, the tank was filled. This fall I scheduled a cleaning/tune-up. There were no appointments until about 6 weeks out from when I called, but that's because EVERYONE gets a cleaning done in the fall, apparently. No worries. On the appointed day, a tech named Bryn showed up exactly on time. He got right to work, and was super kind and patient answering my many MANY questions. He was also nice enough to inspect the oil tank and suggest how long I have until it might need replacing. When I asked him his opinion about whether the furnace installation and ducts might be OK to add central air without re-doing everything, all I really wanted was a general opinion. Instead, he looked at all the ducts, took a ton of measurements, checked some components of the furnace more closely, looked at the circuit breaker panel, and wrote a ton of notes in the file, just so the office would have the basics already in case I decided to call for a formal quote! Surner got it right start to end, and they know what customer service is supposed to be. Bryn the tech is a real asset to the company. Smart, thorough, informative. Give these guys a try!

We spoke with a customer service representative that informed us we needed to speak with the owner Susan Surner about an issue we had with service. We left Susan several messages that went unanswered, including messages with her office staff. We finally heard from the service manager who told us he talked to Susan, she said there was nothing she would do in regards to a recent bill. It was only after we decided to dispute the charges from Surner, that we were able to speak to Susan and service manager Scott. Once on the phone, it became apparent that she lacks basic customer service skills. She was rude and tried to bully her way out of the situation with Scott by her side.

I just recently received an oil delivery and had a wonderful experience with the driver Leo.
First he startled me moving past my window.
I stepped outside to see who it was and he was very friendly and apologetic for startling me.
After the delivery he knocked on my door holding the receipt, he asked if my furnace was running...
I said 'yes' with a curious look.
He had noticed that the total fill was nearly the total capacity of my tank and was concerned that the furnace may have shut down on me.
I really appreciate this extra step in customer service.

Good place to buy oil, but don't get service from them. I prepaid for the service (different price than listed on the website), I had the first appointment of the day at 8:00 (between 8 & 8:30) started calling around 8:45 and no one knew why he wasn't there yet, he showed up after 9:30. Then after the service I got another bill for extra work he did without asking.

Maybe I just don't know how it works, I'm a new homeowner, but I was told it included filters, then was billed for filters (apparently air filters aren't included but they don't ask before charging a premium price for them).

I've spoken to multiple customer service reps and left messages for managers, I finally spoke with a manager who basically said, well that's how it works.

Oil delivery service is fine, but had a repairman out today who didn't replace a clearly cracked vent valve on my radiator, just put new plumber's tape on the old vent valve and put it back in!

We have used Surner Heating for six years at 2 locations and have nothing but good things to say about them. They are professional and reliable. Their service is excellent and their delivery/supply has been flawless.

The woman on the phone in Greenfield misinformed me that the amount of oil I bought in early December would last me through March... it didn't even last 20 days! My tank went dry, causing me major water damage and two days of hypothermia, stress, $$$$, and wasted time. SURNER SCREWED ME, try another company in the area like Kieras.

The office staff is great, super friendly and helpful. Always deliver quick, they even came once in a snow storm on Christmas eve! Always will be my pick for oil as long as I live in Greenfield.

if i could give 0 stars I would.
Very disappointed in customer service.
Prices started out great but that ended quickly (introductory costs were low, they didn't tell me they went up after first delivery)
Lots of hidden fees in each bill. Find another supplier, you'll thank me.
