A year ago we switched to Surner for our propane delivery and heating system service. The switch worked smoothly and we have been totally satisfied with them. Recently our 33 year old heating system failed. Surner techs worked hard to fix it. Adding new parts to an old system didn’t seem practical. Surner designed a new system that is more efficient, takes less space, and is easier to service. We had MassSave do an energy assessment. We got the new system on a 7-year, 0% loan coupled with a $1,200 rebate. Surner’s techs Joe and John installed the new system in less than two days and did a magnificent job as the photo below shows. I highly recommend Surner!

My old automatic thermostat had gotten flaky and changing the batteries didn’t help. So I called Surner - they’re always very responsive - and Leigh and his apprentice Gabriel were able to come out the very next day. Leigh was clearly an expert, and showed Gabriel everything he needed to do, and they got the new one installed quickly and perfectly. I liked witnessing Leigh as a teacher and coach, and Gabriel was an enthusiastic and able learner. And then at my request they bled a few of my radiators that weren’t heating well - that was also new for Gabriel and he and I both found it interesting. One required moving a heavy fridge, so it was good there were two of them. I was totally satisfied with their work and learned various things from them as they worked - Leigh was friendly and communicative. I fully recommend Surner. I’ve dealt with them for decades and always been pleased.

We have been Surner customers for several years, and last Friday, late afternoon, we had an emergency….a drip (a pretty fast drip, actually!) coming from a leak in our baseboards. Lee from Surner was there within the hour and did what he could for a temporary fix until he could get the part needed. He was back Monday afternoon and problem solved! We can’t say enough how reassuring it was just to have that immediate response to diagnose the issue and get us in a good place for the weekend….then following up as quickly as possible with a permanent fix! Awesome!

As a house of 6 college students in Amherst MA, we have been outright scammed by Surner Heating Co. insanely high propane delivery fees, inexplicably credit card charges, lack of communication and never provided us with invoices. Never ever use this company.

My four star review instead of five is for Surner…I just wish the fee hadn’t gone from $125 to $175 just because the water heater needed an off hours visit. It seems punitive during a time where everyone who isn’t super rich is at the mercy of “emergency fees”. Otherwise I would have waited until mid November for hot water restoration.

If surner comments on this, I certainly hope they understand this is —verbatim— what I was told by your employee.

I should have read their review first.
I needed oil delivery and the women who answered was very unprofessional. I was asking why are their price difference between the surner which is higher than the other, she goes do you want it or no!! Of course not, especially with the way she responded, can't even handle simple question. Good bye surner.

Neighbors who are savvy about home maintenance and who know quality service in the area had highly recommended Surner, and I'm glad they did. Surner sent a team to service my boiler, two guys who were hard working, polite, and informative. They showed me the part that needed replacing, explained what the problem was, and gave me an estimate. They were at the house a long time, working straight through, and they detected an issue I'd known about and forgotten to mention to them. I appreciated, as well, their consideration about the house and not wanting to track dirt from the dirt basement on my floors. They were pros, they were honest, and they were thoughtful - - highly recommended.
