What I liked about Elmar first is that there wasn’t a sales pitch. Brian came over, did some measurements, gave some recommendations and then followed up with multiple quotes to choose from. (Elmar’s quotes beat out the other guys, fyi.)

Brian was also very responsive to email which was helpful because I did have a few questions before selecting a quote and after installation. We ended up going with Hitachi ductless mini split units. We liked them for the built in Wi-Fi and the slightly lower cost than the Mitsubishi.

Onto the install. We were scheduled for the following week after signing the quote. But oops on us — we were having windows and doors installed by another company and they wanted to come the same week that Elmar was scheduled. I reached out to Brian and Elmar was able to reschedule for the following week, thank goodness, so I appreciated their flexibility.

Now onto the actual install. Joe and another guy came out on a Tuesday to start the install. We didn’t know exactly what needed to happen, but they were great at letting us know what they would be doing each day. I can’t speak to the intricacies of their work specifically since it’s not my expertise, but my husband really liked the ductwork they installed outside the house, so that counts for a lot in my book because he would definitely say something if it didn’t seem right. Also high marks for Joe and the second guy (i really wish I remembered his name. Sorry!) because they were super friendly to me and my dog hanging around the house while they were here.

The units have only been installed a couple of weeks but so far, so good. They run quiet and put out a lot of cool air. I’m excited to have real a/c for the summer and to be able to control them while we’re away, through the Wi-Fi app.

We had three mini splits installed and for the most part, had a seamless experience. Two of the mini splits work as expected -- they are quiet and efficiently cool and heat our kids' bedrooms. We did have issues with the third mini split. The guys at Elmar did their best to resolve the issue and eventually did. Things did get delayed, but throughout the whole process, the guys at Elmar were communicative and showed that they care about their customers.

Incredibly professional, from the salesman (Oleg) to the installers (Dan & Marco), I was thoroughly impressed with their knowledge, candor and respect for the space. Highly recommended! This is my first experience with a tankless water heater so I’ll update if anything changes but in love so far!

Mr. Dennis Morgan with Elmar Services demonstrated the highest qualities of professionalism. I was under the assumption based on a previous conversation with Elmar Services, a new hire would be accompling Mr. Morgan. Essentially, obtaining OJT skills. However, I may have been mistaken as Mr. Morgan arrived on site alone. I thought he would be overwhelmed with the amount of work needing to get done. He handled it like a true professional!

I have 8 inverters & 3 outside condensor units requiring service. Mr. Morgan performed all of the work flawlessly. I want to specifically mentioned how well he cleaned both the inside kitchen unit and the 3 outside units. The kitchen unit was covered with grease (of course we didn't know how much had built up since we had these units installed in 2017). He meticulously cleaned the kitchen unit as well as the outside condensor units. His thoroughness and attention to detail was outstanding! The units outside looked brand new after the cleaning.

I highly recommend Elmar Services for maintenance on your HVAC system. If you're fortunate enough to get Mr. Dennis Morgan, in my humble opinion, you'll receive award winning professional service. Something I believe Elmar Services prides itself in providing.

I didn't realized I was going to add such a lengthy review. Nor did I think about taking before pictures of the condensors outside to compare how dirty they were and he well Mr. Morgan clean them. Well, to give you a visual, I purchased these in the Fall of 2017 and this is the first professional maintenance I've had on them.

Lastly, I want to thank Buddy who recommended the maintenance services. This was the first time I've heard of it. I believe it's a tremendous benefits at a great price for all that's included.

Elmar did a terrific job installing a ductless mini-split system and a tankless water heater, replacing an old boiler and traditional water heater. All the techs were knowledgable and friendly, and carefully explained each step of the process. And when issues arose, as was inevitable when dealing with a 150+ year old house, they cheerfully came up with perfect solutions, even though it involved extra work on their part. I highly recommend Elmar.

We had an issue with our furnace not working. Was able to reach out to Elmar and they immediately worked with my schedule to find a time that was best for me. Once we had the time they sent notifications reminding me of when they were coming. Showed up right on time with a very kind professional technician. The technician quickly got to work and spent a great deal of going through everything. He walked me through his findings and what he needed to do to fix the issue. After he let me know of everything, he quickly fixed the issue. Couldn’t be more happy with the service I got!!!

I called Elmar Heating and Cooling on Christmas Day, they were the only company that actually answered the phone. The aux heat tripped the circuit so we were fine for the day. Just because they answered I made it a point to call again for service.
Will came out to look at our furnace recently, he was very professional and knowledgeable! We will not hesitate to call them again!

These guys installed a humidifier on duct board using two screws and a lot of tape…that obviously didn’t hold it up and I discovered the unit hanging in the air attached by the water line! Fortunately the water line held so we didn’t have a massive flood. When I called to report this they sent a much more capable tech out to reinstall it properly, but not until the next day. We couldn’t run the heat in the meantime but at least it wasn’t that cold for January. Nobody has reached out since then to check that the installation and repair is working properly. I don’t think I’ll be calling them again.

Will took time to explain possible problems, then identified which problem it was. He had the part on the truck and made sure it was working well before he left. Shared with honesty other issues that may crop up next and ways they could work to keep the system running before needing a full replacement. Happy customer.
