This just a note expressing my appreciation to the service technicians for the excellent service provided during their annual maintenance scheduled visit re our HVAC systems. They called in advance, arrived timely, and were very courteous/professional. I would be pleased if they are assigned for future servicing of our HVAC systems.

We bought a home that was serviced by Griffith. They went out of their way to help us with our aging boiler and answered all of our concerns. Our point of contact, Mike Murphy, is incredibly responsive and friendly. Lee, the senior technician that came out, spent more time than he needed to give us information. We are all around very impressed with Griffith and recommend them to everyone!

i’ve had them for five years and consistently displeased. Although the workers were all nice and competent, the company charges way too much and the administration seems very poor. I canceled oil delivery service, and then they delivered another $700 worth a few weeks afterwards. On my online account, it shows that I owed nearly a thousand dollars, when I actually canceled my service entirely and had paid up months earlier. The worst was I needed a little maintenance done on an old furnace and the worker was literally there for 30 minutes installing a five dollar valve. The charge was about $300, $184 coming to the house, and then the balance was for the “labor and parts”, which was very little. This is just shameless fleecing in my opinion. I called to protest, but to no avail. I couldn’t be happier now that I switched out the old oil system and had another company install the new efficient one and don’t have to deal with them anymore.

I have used this company for 3 years and the customer service is truly the worst I have ever experienced. I have been without heat for a couple of weeks - which they disconnected because it was a leak in the line. When I called to get an answer on when they would come back to run the new line the supervisor told me "I will follow up with you but it will be warm the next couple of days so you should be fine.". I waited the next day for a phone call and they never called. Once I spoke with a representative after being hung up on 30 times she informed me that I will not have any available for another 2 weeks. Truly disappointed in the way they have handled the situation and this is not the first time. I have automatic delivery setup for oil and they have let my tank go empty multiple times and it has been so bad I had to sign up with another company to ensure I have heat.

Within a week I had two amazingly great experiences with two of Griffith's senior technicians, Lee and Steve. Not only are they incredibly experienced and knowledgeable, but also they spent the time to pass along that knowledge. I took three pages of notes on their ideas! They were also considerate of my finances. By cleaning my AC water pump, Lee saved me from an expensive part replacement. Both Steve and Lee gave me ideas for how to economically cool an upstairs room. They went above and beyond what they had come to do. They are also very nice guys.

Griffith Energy is great! You always talk to a live person, they keep the tanks full, they service all my heating and air conditioning equipment quickly and professionally. I have never had a problem without a same day fix. It is like going back in time to when good service was always a priority.

If you are looking for an oil company please avoid Griffith Energy Services in Cheverly, Md. by all means. You would not believe the nightmares I have endured with this company for the past 4 years. I begin with automatic delivery and caught them saying they delivered oil to my tank when it was full. I know it was full because one delivery man had just been here two days prior to the second one coming. And he said the tank was full then the second man said he made a delivery and left a bill on my door. So I knew this was not possible because my furnace had not even been turned on for the winter. So after arguing with them for months over this I wrote a letter to corporate and finally got the charge taken off my account. I then switched to (will call for delivery) I have run out of oil several times and had to call and since they did not like me switching they now give me a hard time and say they can not make a delivery for 3-4 days or it would cost me $200 just for an the emergency delivery. So rather than pay the extra money for the delivery I just used electric heaters until they showed up three days later. Another incident when I called for a delivery they told me my account was on hold because I owed a balance so they could not deliver. I knew that I had made my payments on time. So then I had to make a copy of my check from the bank and forward it to them. After days of hassling over this they found my $200 payment which they had credited to someone else's account. They are rude when you call them and try to make you feel like you are in the wrong. The owner as well as the employees that work there are a bunch of uneducated idiots. No customer should have to be put through such frustrations when you pay your account on time. I have since closed my account and found myself a more honest and reliable company. Just remember this is a very fraudulent and dishonest company.

Either their software needs some debugging or this business is a bit shady. I randomly get signed up for their "gold service." Which is basically $439.90 warranty. I never requested a warranty and have no use for one, I only need heating oil. Surprise....

I called immediately to correct it, and only get a partial refund...

Appreciate the prompt oil delivery, but only getting a partial refund for a warranty I did not request is not good business practice.

I have been meaning to leave this review for several months. Both our furnace and my air conditioner were serviced (annual "tune-ups") by Griffith technicians in July 2019. Mel Reed inspected and cleaned our furnace and Danilo (Danny) Arguela inspected and cleaned our air conditioner. They both get five stars!! They were timely, professional, answered all my questions, and gave me guidance on how to best take care of these important systems. I have used Griffith to supply oil for our furnace and keep my HVAC systems running for more than 20 years. I highly recommend both these technicians and the company.
