Marion, IA I hired Hanna Plumbing to do repairs on a weekend. When I called the Marion Hanna (they have #'s for service in Cedar Rapids & Marion) I was told that because it was the weekend, instead of $75 per hour it would be $149. While it was costly, I had heard good things about their service, so I agreed. I received a call from the on-call plumber shortly, saying he was in Cedar Rapids and would be there in a half-hour. After the plumber was finished for his ONE hour work, he gave me the bill- for 1.5 Hours!!! I was flabbergasted! He proceeded to tell me that because it took him a half-hour to get there, I had to pay for that time. He might as well said that he came from the moon, and I had to pay him 120hrs. I called MARION Hanna - Not Cedar Rapids. Regardless, I wasn't told ahead of time by the phone person, nor the plumber, that I would be charged for travel time before work began! Talk about sneaky charges! The sad part? Hanna is only 5 minutes from my house. Beware when they quote you the price- it is not the whole story. Also - one of the items I had them look at was pipes under my sink that were dripping....they still drip. Tried to resolve it with the receptionist - was completely stonewalled. ..Update. The owner replied to this posting. He relies heavily on the word of his plumber in regard to cost discussion. I would like noted in the post that the plumber did not bring up cost or payment once until the bill was due. I will call owner to follow up.

I have used Hanna Plumbing twice. The first time, was to install a new toilet in a basement. They did good work, but I felt that the cost was pretty high. However, I don't know a lot about the cost and just assumed it was right.
I then called them again as we had a kitchen sink that was clogged. The gentleman who came out was prompt and nice, he worked for maybe 30 minutes with an Auger to clear it out. He went in through the kitchen sink, and was struggling to get anywhere. He claimed that he felt his Auger got stuck, and in his experience that can be a cracked or broken pipe. He said he was not comfortable continuing if that was the case. I understood that, and of course became concerned there was a much larger issue. He recommended a company that used a camera so they can look.
He was out after about 45 minutes, accomplished nothing and still charged me $192.60 for the work. I called the other company he recommended, the guy came in, did not use a camera, found a release valve in the basement, cleared out the blockage in about 15 minutes and only charged me $128.00. There was no broken pipe or any issues with piping. So I spent MORE money with Hanna for them to accomplish nothing, than I did at another company who actually fixed the issue.
The company is nice, but their cost seems so crazy high, especially when they get nothing done during their visit and charge me almost $200 for it. I get you have to charge something, but paying that much for nothing, especially when another company (recommended to me by your worker) charged me two-thirds the price and actually fixed it, just doesn't seem right.

Hanna Plumbing was professional, knowledgeable, and a fair price. Other plumbers wanted $150 for the trip fee. Hannah charged a flat fee per hour and no trip fees. The day before Christmas eve Hannah came out and was able to get parts before closing for the holiday. The plumber saw my water heater had a 6 year warranty so he took care of billing the manufacturer for parts. The plumber also gave us a Christmas discount. If you want excellent service at a fair price from a professional, then Hanna is the best choice for the Cedar Rapids/Marion area. Thanks Hanna!

Our air conditioner is not working well so we called Hanna Plumbing and Heating. Tucker came yesterday and did a wonderful job! Another company who worked on it prior to Hanna did an awful job for much higher price. I highly recommend Hanna and ask for Tucker. Way to go, Tucker! God bless you!

Last night after normal operating hours I called HP&P after discovering my water heater had sprung a leak, Their on-call service tech contacted me back within 15 minutes of the original call and was able to walk me through temporarily disabling the water heater to get us by until the next day. He did this instead of having come out to do it himself, which effectively saved me $130+ /hr for after hours work. This certainly won our continued business.
The next morning HP&P actually reached back out to me before I could contact them to check in on us and to follow-up and see if we needed the unit replaced, They gave me a two hour window in which one of their Techs would be available and their tech Rich contacted me and arrived within the specified window.
While in my house Rich was extremely helpful and professional explaining all the ins & outs of the unit he was installing. The work was performed under the estimated time and the bill came out to be a few hundred dollars cheaper than what we were expecting. Based off this experience I would not hesitate to recommend or contact Hanna Plumbing & Heating to anyone or for future work.

Walked into my basement last Thursday about 8PM to find water leaking out of a check valve above my sump pump pit. Water was slowly taking over my basement. I called Hanna and they sent Adam out within a half hour and he had the valve replaced in less than 45 minutes! Very professional experience from start to finish! Kudos to the customer service person and Adam for taking care of my problem and avoiding some major flood damage! I appreciate customer care like that and will be recommending Hanna Plumbing in the future!

I had called Hanna earlier in the day to come out and give me an estimate, and they were able to have guys come out the same day and get it fixed. They charge hourly but the guys were very efficient and worked quickly. They do give free estimates too - I had called one other time and a lady said that they didn’t do that but another lady said they did and I ended up getting a free one.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We called Hanna after another company looked at our furnace and found "nothing wrong" despite it not functioning properly and emitting a strange smell. However, I wanted a second opinion and this second opinion literally saved our lives. We had carbon monoxide leaking into our home and the other company didn't catch that. Hanna did the diagnostic work and install.
Every member of their staff we encountered was just fantastic. We will never do business with anyone else!

Hanna plumbing was my second call I made when I was stuck between a rock and hard spot at 12:30am with not many options, I had a broken water line! The first place I called, tried to totally take advantage of my situation. I saw Hanna offered 24hr service, so I called. Within 30 mins a very professional plumber was on site. He charged me a fraction of what the other company was going to charge. Thank you Hanna Plumbing and Heating for getting me out of a jam and charging me a fair price!

I manage a hotel in the Cedar Rapids area and we used Hanna Heating & Plumbing after using Affordable Heating & Cooling and a few other companies. I can see there staff is knowledgeable, honest, and fair. The tech diagnosed the issue wrong and ran it by his manager, who was quick to come out and ended up costing my business thousands less than expected. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
