Modern Heating & Cooling

Dec 23, 2016 Never buy from this company. In 2010 we purchased a new high efficiency furnace from them at over $5,000.00. They gave us a 10 year warranty on parts and 1 year on labor. I change the filters religiously and keep the furnace clean. In six years I have had them out for furnace repairs more than 12 times. A few times I had to pay for the parts because they claimed the "zone" controls even though installed by them were not covered by the 10 year furnace warranty. I got so sick of having a non working furnace and constantly having them out for repairs I asked them to replace it and they said the manufacturer declined to do that. It was out again a few days ago and I called them that evening and left a message. Next morning I called and was told they would not be out until late in the day I reminded the woman on the phone how cold it was outside and we had no heat, she didn't seem to care. Later that morning Frank over there called and told me my part warranty was only 5 years so I would have to pay for any parts needed and they couldn't come out until sometime late in the day. I told him that wasn't good enough, that I called yesterday and this morning and I have been without a working furnace for all night and this morning in this 10 degree weather. I also told him my paperwork from them shows a 10 year part warranty then he said, "that's news to me I'll have to look into that" with an attitude. I told him I had a serviceman from another company at my home now and he had just fixed the furnace so he would not have to come out. He replied, "you should feel free to call them the next time you have a problem" again with a snotty smart alec attitude. Worst service from this company you could possibly imagine. I even told the owner I feel I got screwed on this furnace all he did was get angry and disrespectful. Never call this company. If it weren't so much trouble I would sue them.

If you're not a handyman type, you need to find three companies or three guys to make it through life.
You need a plumber, an auto mechanic, and an HVAC guy.
This company is your HVAC company.
Their work is top notch and their prices are fair.
I think that when you call for any service work, chances are your problem will be corrected when they are done. So you are judging them based on if the service person was honest and was the price fair.
Five stars to Modern on all these points.

We have called on Modern on several occasions and have found them to be price competitive and especially customer focused in solving the problem. Extremely happy with them and would never call anybody else to service our heating and air conditioning needs.

Had a 30 year old central air conditioner unit that started acting up. I have had one other experience with Modern a few years ago and was more than pleased with the service i received back then, so called about the A/C. I had already made up my mind that my existing unit was on borrowed time so got a price to replace it. while this installation was mot as smooth as the last one, I would still recommend Modern to my friends. while there was a problem with the installation they were very prompt on correcting the problem, and did not cut any corners in correcting it. would have been 5 stars if not for the hickup

Omgosh. I can't believe what great and thorough service I recieved. The technicians were professional, knowledgeable and kind. This company came out after I had problems with another company. They gave me peace of mind by explaining what needed to be done and why. They checked everything to make sure all was in working order. Thank you Modern !!

When we called them about a problem with our furnace in November we were able to get same day service! In addition, the representatives that came out were very knowledgeable, efficient & friendly! I would highly recommend them!
