I was not at home when the service man finally arrived because our water heater had stopped heating. He was apparently a better salesman than repair man, because he had already convinced my wife to buy a whole new water heater when I called and talked to him. While I appreciated his brutal honestly, it was still shocking to hear him say to me, point-blank, "We don't fix things, we replace them." When I asked what part was not working, however, he said he didn't know. It could be... and he named 3 or 4 parts, but when pressed, he admitted they were all working as we were talking. He reasoned, something made the heater stop heating, and it could happen again, and the water heater is "almost 10 years old" so he couldn't guarantee how much life it has left. Well, all water heaters stop working at some point. It is still a machine, and to my knowledge, all things mechanical WILL stop working at some point. The only question is WHEN, not IF, and no one ever guarantees when that will be. However, they all stop working for SOME REASON, and based on that reason, and the cost of correcting that reason, and the relative cost of replacing the whole unit, are really what we need to know to make a wise decision. Some people maybe have enough money that they just drop a couple thousand dollars because someone told them that at some point in the future they may have problems with an appliance, but that is not me. So in the end, after charging me $99 to listen to his sales pitch, he restarted the flame, without repairing anything, and charged me ANOTHER $89 for relighting the flame, which has been working perfectly for the last 48 hrs. Golden Seal came highly recommended by the previous owner, but this first experience confirmed all my fears of these repair companies. My dad used to call them "swap artists". They charge high rates for simple issues and use fear to sell you what you don't need.
I really like Golden Seals . They come when promised, they’re technicians are knowledgeable, courteous, respectful and polite. They do a great job installing and service maintenance. They never talk you into something you don’t need. Very reliable company.
Have used Golden Seal for ad long as I can remember and have always had great service. Ron came by today for an air conditioning check up and was extremely prompt and professional. As always 5 stars for the work that they do.

Always a very cold day when your heat stops. Called Golden Seal, same day service, yes !! They sent a very knowledgeable service tech named Dylan, who is very friendly. He showed myself exactly what was the cause. Just to much cardon build up on the heat sensor. Dylan was honest and cleaned the sensor. Happy it was a easy fix. We will be happy to have them service our unit every six months. Highly recommend.
Kenneth was very thorough with the monthly maintenance work. Lisa accompanied Kenneth to make sure all the maintenance work was logged which I really liked that the work was recorded. The igniter was recommended to be replaced and explained why it had to be replaced. Highly recommended!
